Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Tyler Eifert honored David Dorn during his Sunday game against the Colts. Eifert placed Dorn’s name on the back of his helmet for the big 27-20 win over Indianapolis. Dorn was a retired police captain who was murdered at the age of 77 during the riots in St. Louis this summer in June. -snip This is a 100% pure class move from Eifert, and there’s no other way to put it. The NFL is letting players wear helmet decals with the names of people impacted by “systemic racism,” and it’s obviously become super political. However, Dorn wasn’t impacted by police violence, but...

The Atlantic‘s Jeffrey Goldberg scored the first post-impeachment interview with Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman on Monday and asked what he described as the “key question”: “Does he believe that Trump is an asset of Russian intelligence?” Vindman’s answer largely regurgitates left-wing conspiracy theories about Russian influence (original emphasis):

Democrats plan to end the filibuster and pack the Supreme Court with radical judges. These changes would give the left license to radically transform the nation. There is, however, another threat they’ve dusted off ahead of the Nov. 3rd election that—if executed—wouldn’t just be transformative, but totally destructive. They want to abolish the Electoral College. Destroying this institution will mean the end of national campaigning (and the engagement, negotiation, and localized promises that go along with it). What politician will ever again stump in Kenosha or Breckenridge? What will a vote get you in Idaho or Montana? It will mean...

Wait a second: is CNN mislabeling Jonathan Reiner? They describe him as their "medical analyst"—but is he in fact their "legal analyst?" Because on today's New Day, Reiner wasn't content to merely blame President Trump for coronavirus-related deaths. Nope: Reiner declared Trump guilty of a very specific crime: "negligent homicide." Reiner's legal theory was that President Trump is guilty of negligent homicide because he held a Nevada rally at which masks were not mandatory. Reiner then made a ghoulish suggestion: that if President Trump sincerely believes there is no danger, he should "vigorously" shake supporters' hands at rope lines. Should...

The USA Today sports section never misses an opportunity to bash President Donald Trump, and former Green Bay and Seattle Coach Mike Holmgren gave the newspaper another opportunity to do that Saturday. The retired coach appeared in a virtual Green Bay press conference to announce his support for Joe Biden and accuse Trump of malfeasance in his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic. Holmgren (in photo) and Green Bay Mayor Eric Genrich, a Democrat, "both said Trump took a dishonest, disorganized approach to managing the virus that killed more than 190,000 people in the United States," according to the story written...

The Russian Orthodox Church does not exclude the possibility of creating a new religious object in Moscow, which will take the place of the mausoleum of Vladimir Lenin. The building is located on Red Square. Leonid Kalinin, representing one of the expert councils, spoke on this matter. On the air for “Moscow speaking” the latter gave a comment on the competition, which involves the collection of options for re-using the mausoleum. At the same time, the topic remains outside the competence of the Russian Orthodox Church. This will change only if they approve the decision to create a church object...

A few days prior to delivering a speech during the opening night of the recent Republican National Convention, guest-speaker and former football star Herschel Walker ripped Democrats in a tweet for “playing the race card way too much,” at their own convention the week prior. While Walker clearly has a legitimate point, it was actually a huge understatement. In 2020, every card in the Democrats’ deck is the race card. There are no clubs or diamonds. There are no one-eyed Jacks or suicide Kings; and please feel free to insert your own witty comment here about Jokers. Democrats will “play...

EAST OF THE EXALTATION OF THE HOLY CROSS JOHN 3:13-17 Friends, Jesus is speaking to Nicodemus and he tells him, “God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life.” Why does the Son come? Is it because God is angry? Because God wants to lord it over us? Because God needs something? No, he comes purely out of love, out of God’s desire that we flourish: “For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the...

When I moved, a few items never made it here. I suspect they found new homes in the movers' residences. One of the things I really miss is my electric staple/brad gun. Not that I do heavy-duty contractor work (ha!), but it was nice to have staples driving into wood or upholstery or molding which didn't depend on my personal strength or the size of my hands. Whap! Whap! Whap! and my project would be done. I cannot remember which staple/brad gun I had. The contenders for a new one are Arrow T50AC, DeWalt 5 in 1 multi tacker, and...

A Massachusetts town clerk has resigned after officials in the 4th Congressional District community lost track of thousands of ballots in the primary earlier this month. Franklin Town Clerk Teresa Burr on Friday stepped down to “re-establish confidence with the voters of this community in their elections,” she wrote in her resignation letter. Two days after the Sept. 1 primary, thousands of uncounted ballots surfaced in Franklin as the 4th Congressional District remained too close to call. The newly discovered 3,000 uncounted ballots were mail-in votes that appeared to have never made it to polling locations on Election Day. Poll...

With less than two months until Election Day, the gloves are off for President Trump. During a rally in Nevada over the weekend, he explained why he was ready to “be really vicious” toward Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden. “Pathetic Joe. He’s a pathetic human being to allow that to happen,” Trump said of the ad the Biden campaign released last week that used The Atlantic’s story alleging he disparaged America’s fallen soldiers in France. “But you know the good part?” Trump continued. “Now I can be really vicious. Once I saw that ad, I don’t have to be nice...

SoFi Stadium was devoid of fans on last night’s Sunday Night Football due to the coronavirus pandemic, but full of victory for hometown heroes the Los Angeles Rams. Sadly that winning feeling wasn’t reflected in the ratings for NBC and the NFL. The team’s first game at their new $5 billion digs saw the Rams take down the Dallas Cowboys 20-17 in a grinding battle. It was also a game that saw Rams’ running back Malcolm Brown score two touchdowns and nail a career topping 79 yards. Fighting right to the end against that wall of the Rams’ defense in...

Left-wing extremists are emulating the Brownshirts of 1930s Germany. This means specifically (1) identification of convenient martyrs to the Cause like Horst Wessel and (2) exploitation of the purported martyrdoms to incite mindless violence including murder, pillage, arson, and riot along with desecration of places of worship. Wessel was an up-and-coming leader of the Brownshirts when he was murdered by Germany's counterpart of Antifa, the Communist KPD and Red Front Fighters' League, whose slogan was "Strike the fascists wherever you find them." The communists' opposition to fascism, while obviously laudable, did not however make the communists good people, either. Two...

Amid windy and worsening conditions at least 35 have died from the spate of West Coast fires which many thousands of firefighters are still busy battling. And there are still dozens of missing persons who were in the vicinity of the blazes. Meanwhile the mainstream media is busy issuing headlines like this instead of actually trying to get to the bottom of what's behind the seeming simultaneous explosion of fires: "Oregon Officials Warn False Antifa Rumors Waste Precious Resources For Fires," writes NPR. And now local Portland media is reporting that a 45-year old man has been arrested for...

Six months after he first issued a disaster proclamation tied to the coronavirus pandemic, followed quickly by a stay-at-home order that shut down businesses and kept people inside for months, Gov. J.B. Pritzker said he wouldn’t hesitate to act in similar fashion if COVID-19 cases bloom exponentially this fall. “We were the second state in the United States by a few hours, I think, to put a stay-at-home order in and if we needed to do that, the answer is, it worked," Pritzker told the Tribune in an interview earlier this month about the state’s response to the pandemic at...
