PBS NEWSHOUR .... (snip) BROOKS: First, the hubris to think, you could be the president and talk to Bob Woodward and not get hurt by it. Donald Trump walked right into this. Two, the extreme cynicism of not only bumbling around in February and March, because you didn't know how serious the pandemic was, but the confirmation that you did know, and you still thought you could talk it down, as if you can talk down a force of nature, and that this — you wouldn't end up getting caught. So, there's just a level of cynicism that's been revealed,...

"Take up the full armor of God, that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm" (Eph. 6:13). Spiritual warfare isn’t as much a frontal attack on Satan’s domain as it is the ability to resist his advances. Spiritual warfare has become a popular topic in recent years. Books, tapes, and seminars on the subject abound, but there is still much confusion. Some say we must rebuke and bind Satan to thwart his power and influence. Others say we must expel demonic spirits through "deliverance ministries." Still others encourage us to...

Last week a few sharp-eyed members of the audience for Disney’s live-action remake of Mulan noticed something ugly in the credits. The film’s producers thanked, among others, the publicity department of the "CPC Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region Committee" as well as the "Turpan Municipal Bureau of Public Security." These are the same political and disciplinary institutions that oppress China’s Uighur minority. Disney cooperated with them without batting an eye. But Disney is more than happy to call attention to human-rights abuses in the United States. Since George Floyd died in police custody earlier this year, the corporation and its subsidiaries,...

Republican Sen. Ted Cruz (Texas) on Friday responded to a tweet about a segment on gender reveal parties from Trevor Noah's "The Daily Show," saying "many liberal males never grow balls." Cruz wrote his comment in a retweet of an article from conservative news website The Daily Wire, which critiqued Noah for railing against gender reveal parties.

I was in New York on that September 11, 19 years ago. The darkness that descended that day and the hope that rose from it are indelible parts of everyone who lived through the attacks, especially, of course, those who lost family or friends that day. The tragedy and the lessons we learned from it could come in handy at this difficult time in our nation's history. The coronavirus pandemic could help us remember our gifts and strive to live with renewed priorities, gratitude and zeal for life. Instead, we see a country in flames in more ways than one....

There has been a lot of talk about privilege being at the heart of the divisions in this country. So, I thought about it and realized that yes, I am privileged! I admit it! Here’s why I am privileged: I’m privileged because I studied hard and embraced education I’m privileged because I know that knowledge is power I’m privileged because I have studied history and have learned from the mistakes of the past I’m privileged because I started working at 16 and have been working constantly for over 40 years I’m privileged because when I realized my family needed more...

This is a glimmer of hope that the bad guys might finally have their day – and that day is today. 1. We heard the Durham investigation would be completed according to Justice Department policy and would not interfere with the upcoming elections. 2. The resignation of Durham’s trusted servant Nora Dannehy was announced yesterday 3. AG Barr continues to be quiet about when indictments will occur, but did indicate Wednesday there would be more indictments. 4. One reporter who hasn’t said this before claims today is the day Remember when I said, wake me when there are indictments and...

In the early morning hours of 17 August 2020, the residents of a home in Garden City, Alabama woke to the sounds of four home invaders breaking into the house. The invaders did not expect what happened next: armed homeowners confronted them with firearms. The invaders fled the scene, pursued by the homeowner(s). In an exchange of gunfire, one of the four suspects was wounded. The wounding greatly aided the Sheriff's office in the investigation of the home invasion. Over the next three days, all four suspects were identified and arrested. Cullman County Sheriff lauded the homeowners. From Cullman County...

Since it is the convention to speak of presidential election campaigns like horse races, we’ve reached the far turn before the homestretch. Biden is still sitting inside on the pole, but is tiring. Trump is coming up fast on the outside. The track is sloppy. The odds are narrow. The stands are starting to fill up. Photo finish ahead?

In The Soviet Tragedy, Martin Malia describes many Soviet citizens feeling great relief at the outbreak of World War II. These were people less than twenty years removed from devastating wars, so they were unlikely to be naïve to the horrors, yet many welcomed the news of war because, as Malia describes, war provided a coherent, tangible reality again, in contract to the schizophrenic insanity of communism. The incoherence is everywhere. It's difficult to believe, given modern rhetoric, but in the early days of communism, wealth was considered a good thing, and, they argued, communism was superior because it created...

I’m so old I remember then this sort of thing would have been considered obstruction of justice: “It appears that Special Counsel Mueller’s team may have deleted federal records that could be key to better understanding their decision-making process as they pursued their investigation and wrote their report. Indeed, many officials apparently deleted the records after the DOJ Inspector General began his inquiry into how the Department mishandled Crossfire Hurricane.” Now days that charge is only used to impeach Republican presidents. I guess “wiping” electronic devices is just another manifestation of white liberal privilege. “Wipe my server?” “What, with a...

It’s just the flu, bro. https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2003/12/outbreaks-vs-epidemics.html USA cases and deaths are dropping quickly. The announcement from Trump will come - he will declare the epidemic over because the death rate is below the CDC minimum level to be called an epidemic. See the link above - approximately 7.7% of deaths need to be from CV to call it an epidemic in the USA. That is about 4000 weekly deaths and we are almost under that level. The left will lose it when he announces this and say that he is killing people. But the majority in the USA who want...

[Note: This piece employs heavy video content.] A new low for Trump Derangement Syndrome. – The nation’s Democrat/Media/liberal/socialist/communist community reacted to President Trump’s second Nobel Peace Prize nomination in a week on Friday with predictable irrational outrage. Here is an American president, achieving what his predecessors have tried for decades to accomplish. If Barack Obama or Bill Clinton had been able to do exactly what Trump has done in the Middle East and in the Serbia/Kosovo situation, they’d have been erecting statues in his honor. But, in the current TDS madness that infests the American Left, anything Trump does must...

Friday marked the 19th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terror attacks against the US. Approximately 3,000 Americans lost their lives on 9/11. The overpaid athletes in the NBA have zero honor. They kneeled for the National Anthem on the anniversary of 9/11. The NBA on Friday paid tribute to the victims of the 9/11 terror attacks and the first responders. However, the NBA players kneeled during the National Anthem.

Barr has miles to go before he sleeps. – As if William Barr didn’t have enough on his plate, the past week saw the rise of two new major areas of investigation his department needs to conduct. The release by Netflix of what can only be described as the streaming service’s entry into the child pornography market – a shoddy piece of trash called “Cuties” – clearly mandates that AG Barr sic his the FBI’s child porn and trafficking unit on Barack and Michelle Obama’s employer. Oh, and did you remember that Susan Rice sits on the board of directors...

“Horror is the right word…among people in the national security complex there is a sense of horror about the way he (President Trump) acts, behaves and talks. So I fully expect much more reporting to come out on this.” (Jeffrey Goldberg, CNN, September 6.) “I was also anxious to meet the great man…a close reading of the human rights literature suggests to me that the leadership of Cuba is not morally comparable to the leadership of Zimbabwe, Burma, Iran, Syria, Libya, North Korea, Eritrea, Venezuela….I judge his (Fidel Castro’s) revolution against what it replaced, namely, the thugocracy of Batista, who...

In a video from a plane that’s circulating on social media, a black woman in an aisle is lecturing a flight attendant, and another passenger at one point, about how White Privilege is “over” in 2020 and therefore that’s why the flight attendant who is employed by the airline and responsible for passengers has no right to tell her to move. The black woman then accuses the flight attendant of exercising her “white privilege” while still blocking her way. “I need to get to my door,” repeats the flight attendant as the black woman continues to bicker. “You have white...
