The IRS has reversed course to eliminate a controversial requirement on Social Security recipients seeking stimulus checks as part of the government's coronavirus response package. After initially saying that Social Security recipients would have to file a "simple" tax return for 2019 -- which they ordinarily would not do -- the IRS now says the payment will be automatic without it. "Social Security recipients who are not typically required to file a tax return ... will receive their payment directly to their bank account,” Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin announced Wednesday evening, noting that they will not have to take any...

Funny, I don’t remember Dr. Anthony Fauci’s name being on the November, 2016 ballot. – The updates from the White House Coronavirus Task Force have become a daily exercise in subliminal messaging for those who are paying close attention. Which, unfortunately, excludes the dimwitted members of the White House press corps. But I digress. Let’s look at yesterday’s press conference. Even though he only came into the event for its second half, Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the US National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease, seems to be running our entire country right now. His remarks at this...

“To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh froward things . . . To deliver thee from the strange woman, even from the stranger which flattereth with her words . . . That thou mayest walk in the way of good men, and keep the paths of the righteous" (Proverbs 2:12, 16, 20).

Once again, these joint efforts saved lives. From 2014 to 2016, 28,000 people in West Africa contracted Ebola, far fewer than the 1.4 million the U.S. CDC had predicted near the beginning of the outbreak. In August 2014, 40 percent of Americans told pollsters that they expected a “large outbreak” of Ebola in the United States. Ultimately, only a single American died. On Obama’s final trip to China in 2016, the two governments agreed to jointly finance a headquarters for the African Union’s Centres for Disease Control and Prevention so that the continent could better fight infectious diseases itself. The...

For the last two weeks my cellphone has been ringing non-stop as healthcare recruiters from all over the Northeast have been trying to contact me. Pay rates for RNs, LPNs, PCTs, and CNAs in New York City have almost doubled seemingly overnight and they keep going up. Salaried doctors and nurses already on staff are facing some pay cuts, but NYC hospitals and nursing homes are desperate, and many recruiters are about to make a killing adding desperately-needed support staff that deal directly with pateints. Something’s not adding up. Less than a month ago, at the now infamous Elmhurst Hospital...

Would you live behind the wall? The democrat-socialist vision of Utopia? The end result from years of communal indoctrination? The Walls of governmental safety? Where would you want to live? It’s been almost a decade since we first asked the question. You might not have to make the choice, but progressive-socialists are ensuring your children or grandchildren are going to have to decide…. Where is the best hope for their dreams, inside the walls or outside? How will liberty and freedom be defined, and considering the direction, where will it be located in the future? Think about it….. Where would...

Chris Cillizza of CNN sent one of the most unintentionally hilarious posts into the Twittersphere when he proudly displayed his new (and ugly) sweater that read “America Needs Journalists.” Apart from the obvious tone-deafness of the message being sent at a time when most American would gladly trade the entire CNN staff for a single grocery store worker, trucker, medic, or just about anything else, this intrepid CNN American hero stumbled upon a sentiment that conservatives can fully get behind. America does need journalists. Too bad we have so few of them. Irony is never quite as thick as when...

Cardiac arrest victims whose hearts cannot be restarted at the scene are now being left there — rather than being brought to coronavirus-strained hospitals for further revival attempts, according to a new guidance for medical responders. The Regional Emergency Medical Services Council of New York, which oversees the city’s ambulance service, issued the guidance on Tuesday in a letter obtained by The Post. Previously, people whose hearts could not be restarted on the scene would be brought to the hospital. But the new guidance is a grim calculus that’s meant to save lives, one veteran EMS worker told The Post....

U.S. stock futures jumped after a surge in the price of oil, a financial market which has collapsed this year and raised concerns about hefty losses for the energy industry. A big jobless claims report ahead at 8:30 am ET would likely determine the direction of the market on Thursday. Dow futures were up 350 points, implying a 300-point rise at the open. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite were also set to open higher. Economists expect another 4 million to 5 million workers filed for jobless claims last week as coronavirus-related shutdowns roll through the country. The estimates range...

The U.S. topped 1,000 coronavirus deaths in a single day for the first time Wednesday, a daily death toll more than double that of two of America's most deadly illnesses – lung cancer and the flu. Death counts from the virus are difficult to keep up to date, but the Johns Hopkins coronavirus database – whose sources include the World Health Organization, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the European CDC and the National Health Commission of China – shows that the U.S. hit 1,040 cases Wednesday at 10:25 p.m. ET. Since the virus' first appearance in the...

Please watch this 5 minute video of current clips from Guayaquil, Ecuador, population 2 million. This is what the Coronavirus pandemic looks like with no mitigation. People with very basic masks handling corpses, people dropping in the street, bodies being burned on the street because people are afraid to touch them. Piles of bodybags and buzzards circling.

Sometime in June 2001, while browsing the Wall Street Journal, I stumbled upon an item on an inside page all the way at the bottom. It was no more than 75 words in a box. It covered a CIA security announcement concerning an increase in internet and cell phone traffic among suspected terrorists from suspect areas in the Arab world. I canceled a Fourth of July trip downtown because of it. I assumed that if an attack was coming, it would be on America's premium self-celebratory holiday, the Fourth of July. When nothing happened, I took off my tinfoil hat,...

There isn’t a lack of information relative to the Wuhan coronavirus. There’s a ton of it put out there every single day. But it’s the same information, while some other important information is lacking. While the media is focusing on retroactive hypotheticals – “If we’d acted sooner, long before we knew how bad it was because China was lying (something they never mention), could this have all been avoided?” – information that could either make people more or less concerned, is not being given or asked about. First, let me start by saying I’m of two minds on all of...

President Trump says he has committed to American farmers to continue admitting large numbers of H-2A foreign visa workers to take agricultural jobs, even as jobless claims are set to climb above 3.3 million in the midst of the Chinese coronavirus crisis. During a press briefing on Wednesday, Trump suggested United States farms would not survive without a continuous flow of H-2A foreign visa workers who are brought to the country by farmers. There is no limit to how many H-2A foreign visa workers can be admitted to the U.S.

It’s just the flu, bro. Today I am presenting new science that I developed that will improve the situation we are in with this Coronavirus. My qualifications to speak on epidemiological matters are listed below: 1, Flubros member for 13 days 2. I am smart and creative and read the internet Herd immunity holds that when approximately 60% of a population gets a virus then the other 40% are way less likely to get it because there are fewer potential transmitters of the disease around. Therefore, I introduce the new science concept of encouraging healthiness-differentiated social distancing - or HSD....
