Does America need Journalists?
American Thinker,com ^ | April 2, 2020 | Fletch Daniels

Chris Cillizza of CNN sent one of the most unintentionally hilarious posts into the Twittersphere when he proudly displayed his new (and ugly) sweater that read “America Needs Journalists.”

Apart from the obvious tone-deafness of the message being sent at a time when most American would gladly trade the entire CNN staff for a single grocery store worker, trucker, medic, or just about anything else, this intrepid CNN American hero stumbled upon a sentiment that conservatives can fully get behind. America does need journalists. Too bad we have so few of them.

Irony is never quite as thick as when journalists are preening about themselves, fretting about Democracy dying in darkness or patting themselves on the back for their extreme courage and manifest importance. For today’s journalists who follow the Acosta/Cillizza model, why report on a story when you can make yourself one?

All Americans would benefit from real information as they try to understand what is going on around them. What they get instead is dangerous politicized poison.

The national media is a fully predictable sideshow at this point. Just imagine what media would think could do the most damage to the president or a Republican and it is fairly easy to predict their coverage or future emerging stories, such as the rising pressure to swap Joe Biden out with Andrew Cuomo. Poor Joe may be the last person in America to see the train coming to run him over when the media decides it is suddenly expedient to start reporting on the sexual assault allegations they are blacking out.

We need investigative reporters, not fiction writers passing as journalists.

What the media does is mediate between the news and the news consumer. Since everyone can’t witness everything directly, you are going to have media.

"Wake up, America.
In this emergency, it is proper to move to the
'front of every line', and to protect and reserve a
group of clean unused ventilators and medicines for, the most
important people to your lives - journalists and politicians."

There are literally 100s of potential Pulitzer winning stories that could be done if journalists were willing to investigate the corruption in DC.

YES! Desperately!

America needs truth seekers. America needs journalists who will convey truth to the American People.

What America does not need is propagandists, but that's what we've got.

Instead of journalists, America has indoctrinated and indoctrinating people who serve the propaganda machine of the Democrat Party.

Those journalists we have, fail to continue to serve the purpose of finding and reporting the real and relevant activities upon which everyday Americans may make day to day decisions. The default position has become, make note of what is being reported, assume that the near opposite is the real truth, and act accordingly.

There is no known code of ethics that journalists both subscribe to and adhere to, so there is not really a valid basis on which to judge their performance. But when they persist in a narrative that has been demonstrably false, it is small wonder their veracity and honesty fall into disrepute.

It used to be “Who, what, where, why and how”, but that standard has fallen by the wayside, and “All the news that is fit to print” has become “All the news that fits”.

Yellow journalism wins a huge and lasting victory.

Nice article.

The irony is strong.

Yes, we desperately need Journalists, instead of the charlatans who claim that title from the old, progressive, dominant, media.

There are still a lot of talented writers and journalists with investigative skills. They are not employed this way for the most part. When your editors and higher-ups dictate the focus, you can investigate all you want, but you’re not going to print/air with it.

They are incredibly STOOOOOOOOOPID.

Yesterday Costco started restricting members to only bringing 2 people to the store on a membership. But idiot journ-o-lists all over the country reported that they were only letting 2 at a time into the ENTIRE STORE!

The word “journalist” will now forever be equated with the word “slimeball” thanks to the idiots now occupying the position.

Eff them, the horses they rode in on and their children, grandchildren, and their cars.

Probably, but we don’t have but a few. Most “so called” are RAT operatives known by how totally ignorant and mean they are.
