HBO runs yet another anti-Catholic series, remains silent on Muslims FEB 17, 2020 3:00 PM BY ROBERT SPENCER HBO executives are doubtless congratulating themselves for their “courage,” but it doesn’t take any courage at all to skewer the Catholic Church today. When will they be courageous enough to take on Islam, which, with the rampant human rights abuses occasioned by Sharia, would be fertile ground for a lurid miniseries like The New Pope? Oh, around never. “Column: HBO — Vicious to Christians, Silent on Muslims,” by Brent Bozell and Tim Graham, NewsBusters, February 15, 2020: HBO is currently running a...

Apple said Monday that it would not meet its quarterly revenue forecast because of lower iPhone supply globally and lower Chinese demand as a result of the coronavirus outbreak. The company initially said that it expected to report net sales between $63 billion to $67 billion in its fiscal second quarter. Apple did not provide a new forecast for its second-quarter revenue on Monday.

While fuel prices are plummeting, electricity prices are staying stubbornly high. This is bad news particularly for tens of millions of low-income Americans. It also puts an unnecessary drag on economic growth.

Looking for some advice dealing with a horrid little kid. One of my younger daughters attends a non-Jewish secular STEM school in the USA. (It is about 1/4 Jewish.) She is a freshman. Very, very smart -- as in 1460 PSAT freshman smart, all high As, multilingual. GREAT athlete. With considerable reluctance, I allowed her to participate in a program where young ladies are "presented" in society. She looked lovely and frum. There is a young boy that has caused a bit of a trouble for her over the years. He's smart, father a bird colonel in the USAF, mother...

Dr. Karlyn Borysenko is a longtime Democrat. She recently attended a Trump rally and found out it was like nothing she had heard from the media or her liberal friends. Not only were Trump supporters incredibly friendly to her, but she was also completely shocked by the positive energy and size of the crowd. Now she is issuing a warning to members of her party. She writes at Medium: After Attending a Trump Rally, I Realized Democrats Are Not Ready For 2020 I think those of us on the left need to take a long look in the mirror and...

RICHMOND — State Sen. Amanda Chase, a Trump-style Republican at odds with both parties in Richmond, announced on Monday that she will run for governor next year as a Republican — and failing that, as an independent. “I can’t take it anymore,” Chase (Chesterfield), said referring to “the liberal, socialistic agenda that has taken control of the Capitol.”

The 2020 Census will not have a citizenship question. Yet it may still achieve its sinister goal — keeping immigrants from participating. When the Supreme Court last summer prevented the Trump administration from asking census respondents whether they are American citizens, some were quick to declare victory. In reality, it was akin to a small win in a raging war with multiple shifting fronts. Whether or not the question was allowed, its mere evocation was designed to have a chilling effect on vulnerable portions of the population. “It’s about creating a culture of fear, and when you create a culture...

South Court Auditorium 2:47 P.M. EST THE PRESIDENT: Thank you. (Applause.) Thank you very much. AUDIENCE: Four more years! Four more years! Four more years! THE PRESIDENT: That’s great. Well, you know, I wasn’t supposed to be here, but I heard Brandon was here, so I said, “Where is he speaking? Tell me. I better get there.” Right? But he was with me before I even thought I was going to run. He used to say — him and his little group, they’d say, “I hope that guy runs.” And that was before I made a decision to run, actually....

I have been on the record as saying that Michael Bloomberg will never become the president of the United States. The line I wrote in 2016 holds up: “An anti-teachers’-union, anti-gun, pro-nanny state, pro-Wall Street, pro-stop-and- frisk, pro-inequality, pro-immigration, pro-surveillance, pro-Iraq War neoconservative is almost surgically designed to repel practically every American voter on some level.” For that reason alone, the flirtation with making this guy the Democratic nominee should cause serious alarm to anyone who wants to defeat Donald Trump. Plus, Bloomberg has vowed to spend his money until November no matter who is the nominee, instantly undercutting the...

This week, fading presidential aspirant Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass) boasted of receiving half of a low-income supporter's total wealth to carry on her fight for the nomination. The "half" consisted of $3 out of a net worth of $6. To many it seemed a callous act to take so much from someone who had so little. Warren didn't see it that way. "In a way, it's like buying a lottery ticket," she contended. "If I'm elected I'm going to cancel her college debt. That's thousands of dollars in return for her $3 donation." "It's also a model for the kind...

A Cedar Rapids man was arrested Monday after he allegedly held a woman captive and forced her to watch “Roots” — a 9-hour mini-series that chronicles author Alex Haley’s family line from the capture and enslavement of his ancestor Kunta Kinte to the liberation of Kinte’s decedents. Noye told her to “remain seated and watch the movie with him or he would kill her and spread her body parts across Interstate 380 on the way to Chicago.”

Over 1,000 former justice department officials say AG Barr should resign--which is actually a great sign that he's doing an effective job. When you start draining the swamp, it's only natural that the swamp critters are going to complain.

Charles Portis, an El Dorado native best known for his 1968 novel True Grit, died on Monday at a Little Rock hospice facility. He was 86. The cause was complications from Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, which was diagnosed in 2012, said his brother, Jonathan Portis. Portis published five novels — Norwood (1966), True Grit (1968), The Dog of the South (1979), Masters of Atlantis (1985), and Gringos (1991) — and the non-fiction Escape Velocity: A Charles Portis Miscellany (2012). True Grit, the story of fictional 14-year-old Mattie Ross from Yell County, Ark., who recruits U.S. Marshall Rooster Cogburn to avenge...

When 18-year-old NASCAR star Hailie Deegan heard that President Donald Trump was going to attend the Daytona 500, she went on a quest to get Trump to sign her helmet. It was a quest that only the president’s son could facilitate. Ahead of the big race, Deegan jumped to Twitter to let fans know that she was in the hunt for the president’s autograph. A New York University professor is one of the masterminds behind the anarchist group that organized the rampage through the subways last month, destroying turnstiles, stranding thousands of commuters and spray-painting “F–k Cops” on station walls. Amin Husain, 44, is a co-founder of Decolonize This Place, which urged its radical followers in a social media campaign to “f-ck sh-t up” on Jan. 31 in a violent assault on the city’s transit system that concluded with 13 arrests and $100,000 in damage. Mayor Bill de Blasio said he was “repulsed” by the hooliganism, and Police Commissioner Dermot Shea called the so-called...

A man was telling his buddy : "You won't believe what happened last night. My daughter walked into the living room and said: Dad, cancel my allowance immediately, forget my college tuition loan, rent my room out, throw all my clothes out the window, take my TV and my laptop. Please take any of my jewelry to the Salvation Army or Cash Converters. Then sell my car, take my front door key away, and throw me out of the house. Then disown me and never talk to me again. And don't forget to write me out of your will and...

A bakery in the western German city of Cologne has caused a storm in local media for its selling of dark-glazed pastries with exaggerated facial features. Some of the pastries — normally a kind of meringue on wafer covered in plain chocolate — were sporting eyes, nose and thick red lips, with some even carrying bones on top of their heads or comical hats. The white-faced pastries have glasses and carry on their heads what is known as a fez, a felt hat with a tassel that was popular during the Ottoman Empire. The pastry, now known as “Schokokuss” (Chocolate...

RUSH: Let me start with an attempt – I still have the remnants of the flu, but everything is fine, folks. I need to find a way beyond what I’ve already done to express my heartfelt gratitude and thanks and appreciation for the outpouring that continues to come in from people. I can’t respond to all of it. I’m starting to feel guilty about it. Because so many people are sending me — people that I haven’t heard from in I don’t know how long and finding a way to reach me, finding a way to get through to me...

Attorney General Bill Barr has tapped a growing number of federal prosecutors across the country to review high-profile Russia probes involving Trump associates and consider emerging allegations tied to Ukraine, in a bold but risky move that comes as he faces mounting criticism and even resignation calls from congressional Democrats who allege he's protecting the president. Meanwhile, Barr has tapped other several federal prosecutors to review DOJ cases. Last week, Barr confirmed that the Justice Department was reviewing information about Ukraine coming to the agency from the president’s personal attorney Rudy Giuliani and others. Barr has tapped U.S. Attorney Scott...
