Disgraced former FBI Director James Comey took so much offense to the harsh words that President Donald Trump spoke about him during the acquittal press conference Thursday that he published an angry op-ed in The Washington Post the following afternoon. . . . In Comey’s opinion, the decision by the “herd” of Trump supporters, as he described them, to not “get up and walk out” as the president bashed him and the slew of other disgraced former Obama-era Justice Department operatives who’d allegedly plotted against him was the result of the so-called herd being “brainless” (his words).

Chasten Buttigieg, the husband of South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg, currently refers to himself as the First Gentleman when he discusses what he will do if husband Pete becomes president of the United States. So you think your vote doesn’t matter this year, eh? You think that because we have been so polarized by politics that you’re going to use your vote as a “silent protest” and not vote for anyone, is that it? You listen and you listen good, your vote matters more this year than at any time since our nation was first founded. Waste it at the...

My wife and I are considering selling our existing home and building a new home. Our approach is to sell the house, rent a furnished house/apartment (we have a yellow lab) while the house is being built. We don't want to worry about having two houses. My question is, what did you do to minimize the amount of moving? Store furniture in PODs? Store semi-trailer? What tips do you have? What would you do differently? Anyone sell & build at the same time? Did you use a realtor who'd purchase your house if it didn't sell after XX numbers of...

Over 70,000 women in Germany have been subjected to female genital mutilation (FGM), and a further 17,000 young girls are at risk of having the barbaric procedure being committed against them. A German doctor, Cornelia Strunz, who works at the Desert Flower Center said that the number of cases of FGM in Germany is rising due to increased migration from Islamic African and Asian countries, dubbed the ‘FGM Zone’ where the practice is widespread. She advised women and girls who have undergone the procedure to have another surgery to reverse the damage caused by FGM.

When President Donald Trump bestowed the Presidential Medal of Freedom on ailing right-wing, talk radio icon Rush Limbaugh at the State of the Union, it wasn’t just a feel-good moment for his conservative base. It was also a gesture of thanks to a (fellow) media personality who helped set the stage for Trump’s astonishing political success. Limbaugh’s brash and boorish persona, and his belief that white, male cultural centrality is, to quote the title of Limbaugh's first book, “the way things ought to be," paved the way for the political rise of the bombastic media performer currently sitting in the...

DeSantis's pantheon: William F. Buckley Jr., Ronald Reagan, Antonin Scalia, Clarence Thomas, and Limbaugh Good list. No media figure since Buckley has had a more lasting influence on American conservatism than Limbaugh, whose cumulative weekly audience is more...

Windows 10 may now be essential but users new and old have had a rough ride in recent weeks. And it has just gotten a lot worse after a new, high-profile Windows 10 failure has left more questions than answers and some seriously angry users. The drama began yesterday [2/5] as Windows 10 users suddenly found that Search was broken with a black bar showing where search results should be, even for those who tried to perform a local search of their files. Breaking with tradition (1,2,3,4,5), Microsoft was fast to act blaming “a temporary server-side issue”. But the explanation...

The father of Democratic presidential hopeful Pete Buttigieg was a Marxist professor who spoke fondly of the Communist Manifesto and dedicated a significant portion of his academic career to the work of Italian Communist Party founder Antonio Gramsci, an associate of Vladimir Lenin. Joseph Buttigieg, who died in January at the age of 71, immigrated to the U.S. in the 1970s from Malta and in 1980 joined the University of Notre Dame faculty, where he taught modern European literature and literary theory. He supported an updated version of Marxism that jettisoned some of Marx and Engel's more doctrinaire theories, though...

ABC NEWS: The Democratic Debate 02/07/20 10:30 p.m. Eastern PITTS: So, Biden isn't expected to do well in New Hampshire. He has to do well in South Carolina which has a larger black vote. Race didn't come up in this debate until about nine minutes in and it came up from Tom Steyer who brought it up and then they engaged. One thing I have to say about all the candidates, when it came to the conversation about race 9 minutes in, I thought in some ways all the candidates were tone deaf. Because so often when they discuss race,...

Probably my favorite line in the movie Moneyball is uttered in the wonderful scene where Billy Bean (Brad Pitt) is trying to teach his protégé (Joshua Hill) how to cut a professional baseball player. Bean explains that delivering bad news works best if done with a detached, businesslike manner. He compares the unpleasant task to the job of a hired assassin by asking, "Would you rather get a bullet to the head, or five to the chest and bleed to death?" Hill replies, "Are those my only two options?" Therein lies the problem for Democrats come November. There are only...
