U.S. Attorney General Bill Barr has sent the totality of the U.S. media into spasmodic fits of apoplexy today as he discusses the findings of the DOJ inspector general review of a highly corrupted FISA process. The Attorney General talks about how the FBI weaponized their official duty in an effort to carry out what seems to be a political agenda. Mr. Barr goes into detail with his thoughts on the current criminal review assigned to U.S. Attorney John Durham; and the unfortunate issues with a group at the top of the organization who politicized the FBI as an investigative...

DC has released a new teaser for Frank Miller and Rafael Grampá's Dark Knight Returns: The Golden Child that features The Joker showing his true colors: red, white and blue. The image sees the Clown Prince of Crime straightening the necktie on his American flag-themed suit, and behind him are posters bearing the unmistakable face of the President of the United States Donald Trump (though the text on the posters is implied to say "Trust" instead of "Trump.")

Former FBI attorney Lisa Page sues DOJ, FBI for publishing her text messages Page says leaking her messages to the press was 'not only wrong, it was illegal'; David Spunt reports from the Justice Department. In the spring of 2019, a wave of anti-abortion laws swept through the country drawing ire and support in equal measure. Bills in Ohio, Missouri, Alabama, Georgia, and other states promised to crack down on both those who sought abortions and those who provided them. The bills, which promised to be the toughest restrictions since abortion was legalized in the landmark Roe vs. Wade case in 1973, were all signed into law but then subsequently blocked by district courts, effectively halting their implementation. A new round of bills have been announced recently that take an even more hardline stance on...

Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro issued a decree on Tuesday that will allow tens of thousands of small farmer to finally gain title to the land they cultivate, making good on a campaign promise to the farm sector that backed his election. The land regularization measure, which goes into effect immediately but needs to be approved by Congress within 120 days, only applies to land that has been occupied by farmers before May 2014 and up to 2,500 hectares (6,178 acres) in size. Agriculture Minister Tereza Cristina said the decree will allow small farmers to obtain credit that they were denied...

The old saw that victory has a thousand fathers took on a new twist Tuesday as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., announced that she supports an affirmative vote on the best trade deal ever negotiated by an American president – the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA). Remember that Pelosi, along with more than 100 other Democrats, voted for the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) in 1993. In sharp contrast, there should be no mistake about this: Donald Trump was a NAFTA critic from the get-go. The USMCA is President Trump’s vision, and it is a poster child of yet another promise...

The lifespan of a game is measured in hours. A team comes and goes in a season. A player lasts no more than four years; these days, if he's good and stays healthy, three. But a coach? A coach is different. Coaches define eras. In a sport in which we root for laundry, a coach humanizes those colors, becomes as much a symbol as the mascot. The first four men selected among the 150 Greatest Coaches, as selected by our blue-ribbon panel of 150 media members, administrators and former players and coaches, span more than a century of the sport....

A San Diego federal prosecutor was confirmed by the Senate Tuesday to a seat on the influential 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. In a 53-40 vote, Patrick Bumatay became the 49th circuit appointee to be confirmed under the Trump administration, part of a steady drive by Republicans to remake the federal bench with conservative jurists. It is an especially sweet victory for the administration given the 9th Circuit’s liberal lean, which has made it a prime spot for the president’s foes to challenge his policies. President Donald Trump has often complained about being treated unfairly by the nation’s largest...

A second appeals court has lifted an injunction blocking the Trump administration from implementing its immigration rule relating to “public charges,” mirroring an order in the Ninth Circuit Court several days before. “Public charge” refers to an individual who is likely to become primarily dependent on the government for subsistence, by receiving assistance such as food stamps or Medicaid. The cases stem from a new rule the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) adopted in August that expanded the definition of “public charges” in the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA). The rule provides clarification about what factors would be considered when...

Thousands of UK political ads went missing from Facebook’s searchable advertising database on Tuesday, hampering researchers’ ability to track political ads two days before Britain’s general election. Facebook’s ad library, which it launched in the UK in 2018, is a public tool for users to track political advertising on the platform. The problem, first reported by Sky News, affected ads from the ruling Conservative Party, the Brexit Party and the Liberal Democrats. It was not immediately clear if any Labor Party ads were affected. Facebook declined to answer what caused the issue or when it would be resolved. …

Austrian bishop decries pro-LGBT concert Cardinal Schönborn allowed in Vienna cathedral SALZBURG, December 10, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) — Austrian Bishop Andreas Laun joined his voice to those condemning the pro-LGBTQ concert that Cardinal Christoph Schönborn allowed and attended Nov. 30 in Vienna’s preeminent cathedral. “I just think that silence can also be sin. That is why my answer to this event in the House of God is only a big NO. NO and NO again!” wrote the retired auxiliary bishop of Salzburg in the Austrian Catholic German-language news outlet kath.net. In his trenchant rebuke, Laun quoted Archbishop Carlo Viganó’s denunciation...

And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. Washington (CNN)The FBI last year used a dossier of allegations of Russian ties to Donald Trump's campaign as part of the justification to win approval to secretly monitor a Trump associate, according to US officials briefed on the investigation. Officials familiar with the process say even if the application to monitor Page included information from the dossier, it would only be after the FBI had corroborated the information through its own investigation.
