America is turning into such an intolerant, victim-centered, outrage-based, politically correct, that joke isn’t funny, how dare you hold an opposite opinion-centered culture, that a lot of people are afraid to tell you the truth anymore. It’s easier for people to sometimes just keep their heads down and hope that the outrage mob will pick another victim. But, unfortunately, when people become afraid to speak the truth, common sense can die in the darkness because everyone is caught up in saying what we’re “supposed to” believe instead. An America that encourages free speech, discourages censorship and believes in a free...

Nearly three-quarters of Americans see weather disasters, like Hurricane Dorian, worsening and most of them blame global warming to some extent, a new poll finds. And scientists say they’re right. The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research survey shows 72 percent of Americans think catastrophic weather is more severe, while 4 percent see it as less nasty. About one-quarter say those disasters are about as extreme as they always were. Half of those who think weather disasters are worsening say it’s mainly because of man-made climate change, with another 37 percent who think natural randomness and global warming are...

Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick says he's "willing to take an arrow" and defy the National Rifle Association by pressing Texas to close one loophole in gun-purchaser background checks. On Friday, Patrick said it's "common sense" to tighten background-check laws because in many instances, stranger-to-stranger sales now are exempt from the requirement that buyers be vetted through a federal database of people not eligible to purchase firearms. Patrick wants to protect transfers among family members from triggering a check. He'd also continue to exempt friends, though he acknowledged that could be abused. Patrick, who presides over the Texas Senate, said he's...

Actor Sean Connery said he is “lucky” to have escaped the destruction left by Hurricane Dorian since he and his wife remained in the Bahamas as the storm passed. Connery stayed in his full-time residence on the island of New Providence with his wife, the painter Micheline Roquebrune, the Daily Mail reported. The storm largely avoided the island where the couple lives, but trees were knocked down and torrential rain and heavy winds were recorded. “We are both fine,” the 89-year-old actor told the Scottish Daily Mail. “We were lucky compared to many others and the damage here was not...

Jeremy Corbyn and the other leaders of the 'Rebel Alliance' today agreed to work together to stop Boris Johnson forcing an early general election on Monday as the chances of a Brexit delay increased. Labour, the SNP, the Liberal Democrats, the Greens and Plaid Cymru will either vote against the government or abstain when Mr Johnson holds a crunch vote at the start of next week in a bid to go to the country on October 15. The Prime Minister will need the support of two thirds of the House of Commons to succeed but with the opposition now all...

When a federal court issues an order against enforcement of a government policy, the ruling traditionally applies only to the plaintiff in that case. Over the past several decades, however, some lower court federal judges have increasingly resorted to a procedural device—the “nationwide injunction”—to prevent the government from enforcing a policy against anyone in the country. Shrewd lawyers have learned to “shop” for a sympathetic judge willing to issue such an injunction. These days, virtually every significant congressional or presidential initiative is enjoined—often within hours—threatening our democratic system and undermining the rule of law. During the eight years of the...

Left-wing Hollywood star Alec Baldwin claims he despised playing President Donald Trump on Saturday Night Live so much that he once wished a “meteor” would strick him dead. Appearing on the season three premiere of YouTube series Hiking with Kevin, Baldwin was peppered with questions by former SNL cast member Kevin Nealon about what it was like to play the president. Asked if he ever grew bored of the role, Baldwin replied, “Oh yeah, I think every time I did Trump after the first season—the first season everybody was high, they were in a lot of pain, they were confused.”...

The death toll from devastating Hurricane Dorian will be 'staggering' with thousands still missing, officials have warned amid reports looters are 'trying to shoot people' in the scramble for food and water. Up to 70,000 are in need of 'life-saving assistance' while Great Abaco is said to be virtually uninhabitable, with bodies piled up and witnesses say there is a 'smell of death' with corpses floating in the water. While the official death toll stands at 30, that number is expected to rise today and hundreds of body bags have been ordered along with extra freezers. A massive international relief...

KISS's September 20 concert at the Staples Center in Los Angeles has been postponed until March 4, 2020, due to what the band called "unforeseen scheduling issues," in a statement. Tickets bought for the September 20 date will be valid for the rescheduled date. Kiss is currently on its 'End of the Road' farewell world tour. The Staples Center concert was supposed to serve as the band's North American finale. One wouldn't expect "scheduling" of all things to cause a postponement on an iconic artist's farewell tour, but as long as everyone's healthy, no one should be complaining. Kiss will...

The Seattle Times reports that Seattle's city council is considering legislation which would ban all new homes and buildings within city limits from using natural gas, and mandating that these edifices must use electric heating and cooking. Councilmember Mike O’Brien will likely introduce the legislation next week. If passed, it is expected that the regulations will go in effect next summer. "We know that some people rely on natural gas at home and on the natural-gas industry for jobs, so we want to be thoughtful about how we transition," O'Brien said. "But in the meantime, let’s not continue to make...

Former Mayor Rudy Giuliani on Friday said “it breaks my heart” to watch how the city’s quality of life has plummeted under current Mayor Bill de Blasio. “Fox & Friends” host Ainsley Earhardt started the ball rolling, telling Giuliani, ”I’m a Christian. I love everyone, and I love him, but I don’t like what he’s doing for this city and that worries me. When I moved here everyone said you cleaned up Times Square. I don’t want it to go back to that. How do you feel about Mayor de Blasio and the direction of this great city?” “It breaks...
