My fellow Americans and my friends: Tonight my single duty is to speak to the whole of America. Until four-thirty this morning I had hoped against hope that some miracle would prevent a devastating war in Europe and bring to an end the invasion of Poland by Germany. For four long years a succession of actual wars and constant crises have shaken the entire world and have threatened in each case to bring on the gigantic conflict which is today unhappily a fact. ...I myself cannot and do not prophesy the course of events abroad -- ...I cannot prophesy the...

Joe Biden sincerely did not understand the hullabaloo about a Washington Post story detailing how the former Vice President had mangled facts about U.S. soldiers and his own role in honoring them. For the life of him, he told his staffers on Thursday between campaign stops in South Carolina, he could not process why journalists, let alone the public, saw this as a problem. He had meant well enough, Biden told aides. The campaign wouldn’t dignify it with a proper statement. When it came time to do two previously scheduled interviews on the road, Biden stood defiant against any suggestion...

A National Rifle Association leader-turned-critic is meeting with New York investigators...and the NRA wants to be there. The powerful gun lobby asked a New York state judge Friday to let it in the meeting, saying it would be “severely prejudiced” if privileged information is divulged. NRA lawyers said they reviewed 899 pages of documents from North’s lawyers that were prepared for investigators and found several dozen examples of privileged information that had not been redacted. The NRA is facing several legal battles. The attorney general of Washington, D.C., has subpoenaed the group and its related charitable organization in a probe...

I've got some video files on an old drive that has started making noises when I use it. Each video file is about 4.05 GBs. So I thought that I'd copy several of these files to a jumpdrive and plug the jump drive into the video player instead of the disk drive. I bought a 64 GB Sandisk. Hmmmmmm, when I try to copy a 4.05 GB file to the 64 GB jumpdrive the system says the destination is full. But of course when I do a "Properties" on the drive it says there is 63 GB available. Is there...

Indoor farm companies say they're scaling up, but many question their business model Leafy salad greens grown under banks of LED lights, with mist or drips of water are having their day in the sun. Several top U.S. indoor farms say they are boosting production to a level where they can now supply hundreds of grocery stores. Plenty, Bowery, Aerofarms and 80 Acres Farms are among young companies that see a future in salad greens and other produce grown in what are called vertical farms that rely on robotics and artificial intelligence, along with LED lights. While the first versions of modern vertical farms...

Like an adolescent seeking attention, Beto O'Rourke, desperate for any hook to hoist his pitiful polling position, has resorted to puerile vulgarity. O'Rourke has glommed onto the issue of mass shootings as his last, best shot to salvage his drain-circling candidacy. O'Rourke was a guest on CNN's State of the Union this morning. Guest host Dana Bash began by playing a clip in which O'Rourke, addressing a campaign gathering yesterday regarding the shootings in Texas, called the situation "f---ed up." CNN bleeped out the vulgarity. But when Bash invited O'Rourke to comment on the situation live in the studio, he...

Officials refused to say the name of the gunman involved in the west Texas shooting out loud during a press conference Sunday. Odessa Police Chief Michael Gerke began the update by noting that the investigation into the shooting that left seven dead and 22 injured is still active and ongoing. “There are still multiple crime scenes that are being worked. There are no definitive answers as to motive or reasons at this point. But we are fairly certain that the subject did act alone,” Gerke, who was accompanied by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said. “You’ll notice that I’m not naming...

No question about it—Bernie Sanders was born a Jew. So what? .... To a serious, practicing Jew, the fact that Bernie Sanders makes use of his Jewish birthright, is somewhat disturbing. Senator Sanders has done almost nothing Jewish throughout his entire life. His disdain for Israel, his recent support for Linda Sarsour, Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar, his hatred of Prime Minister Netanyahu, makes him much more of a “Sonay Yisrael—an Israel hater,” than a supporter of the Jewish state. So why is it that a Jew, who has dropped virtually everything Jewish from his life, from keeping Kosher to...

This weekend during an interview KTLA 5’s John Fenoglio, 2020 Democratic presidential hopeful South Bend, IN Mayor Pete Buttigieg said President Donald Trump’s behavior had become “criminal.” When asked about reports that Trump told officials he would pardon them if they broke the law to build the border wall, Buttigieg said, “This is criminal. To encourage someone to commit a crime and say it will be ok because you will pardon them is that really what this has come to? Is that how naked the criminal behavior of this presidency has become?”

While speaking to reporters Sunday morning President Trump said stronger background checks would not have stopped the mass public attacks our nation has witnessed over the past six or seven years. Trump said, “I will say that for the most part, sadly if you look at the last four or five going back even five or six or seven years, for the most part, as strong as you make your background checks, they would not have stopped any of it.” He made these comments the day after a man in the Midland-Odessa region of Texas drove around shooting people while...

Joe Biden speaks at the 2019 Iowa Federation of Labor Convention in Altoona, Iowa, August 21, 2019. (Gage Skidmore) He's unfit for the presidency. There are two possible explanations of Joe Biden’s inability to tell the truth about things: One is that his mind is failing him, the other is that his honor is. In neither case is Biden fit to hold the office of president of the United States of America, and Democrats would discredit themselves and endanger the nation to nominate him. Yes, yes, go ahead — “But, Trump!” etc. — and continue when you’ve completed the ritual...
