No other topic at the Federal Convention, our Article II chief Executive, demanded more time and debate. Our Framers needed some sixty votes to arrive at their brilliant Electoral College. Unlike the politics of redesigning Congress, the chief Executive emerged not from the clash of wills between large and small States, but from a series of ingenious efforts to design a new institution suitably energetic but safely republican. From the beginning to the end of the convention, delegates wrestled with Executive powers, the balance of those powers with Congress, and how a free people could design an office that prevented...

...life without water is a daily nightmare endured in Zimbabwe's capital city, Harare, where more than two million people only have running water once a week, according to the New York Times. The water shortage there means residents ration bathroom trips and stand in interminable lines to fill buckets and cans at communal boreholes. One mother profiled by the New York Times got in line at 3 a.m. By the afternoon, she was still standing in line. The boreholes are a problem too since they are so polluted. "Water-borne diseases linked to these boreholes are on the rise, but people...

There may be life on the Moon after all: virtually indestructible beings that can withstand extreme radiation, sizzling heat, the coldest temperatures of the universe, and decades without food. These terrifying-sounding creatures aren't aliens but in fact microscopic Earthlings known as tardigrades, who likely survived a crash landing on the lunar surface by Israel's Beresheet probe in April, the organization responsible for their trip said Tuesday. Based on an analysis of the spacecraft's trajectory and the composition of the device the micro-animals were stored in, "we believe the chances of survival for the tardigrades...are extremely high," Nova Spivack, founder...

China on Wednesday blasted a huge planned US arms shipment to self-ruled Taiwan and threatened to sanction firms involved in the sale of F-16 fighter jets. The US State Department on Tuesday approved the transfer of 66 Lockheed Martin-built F-16 fighter jets to Taiwan in a US$8 billion deal, following another huge military hardware sale agreed just last month. The deals come as ties between Washington and Beijing are already strained by a punitive multi-billion dollar trade war.

Full Title: Incredibly Sick, Federally-Funded Experiments Happening Behind Closed Doors In Secret Labs Across America Some of the things that are being done in the name of “scientific research” are almost too horrifying to talk about. But it is vitally important that we shine a light on these practices, because most Americans don’t realize what is really going on. Normally when we talk about crime, the primary focus is on the drug abuse and violence in the urban areas of our major cities. But the truth is that often the worst crimes are committed by “doctors”, “scientists” and “researchers” wearing...

Not long ago, the current presidential contenders opposed open borders, sanctuary cities, and federal funding for abortion. Now they can’t move left far and fast enough. All politicians are “flexible.” If they are in politics long enough, many reinvent themselves ideologically several times over — given the perceived volatile mood of 51 percent of their constituency. But rarely have we seen an entire primary field of candidates scrambling to renounce all their past identities and agendas — and to do so unapologetically, abruptly, and vehemently.

CNN's Don Lemon repeatedly questions Trump's 'fitness for office,' says recent remarks 'put us in danger' CNN's Don Lemon repeatedly questioned President Trump's "fitness for office" on Wednesday night and suggested that his recent remarks "puts us in danger." "This is a president of the United States running wild, running amuck, it's constant, it's everything," Lemon said. "All of it together raises serious questions about his fitness for office... The volume of what this president has said and tweeted-- just in the past 24 hours-- puts us in danger of being overwhelmed, in danger of forgetting just how wrong, how...

North Carolina's Dem governor vetoes bill requiring police cooperation with ICE on illegal immigrants In vetoing a bill calling for better state and local cooperation with U.S. immigration authorities, North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper is favoring the interests of illegal immigrants over basic public safety, the state's Republicans argued Wednesday. Earlier in the day, Cooper, a Democrat, nixed a proposal that would have made it mandatory for state and local law enforcement to comply with detainer requests from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Under the plan, sheriff’s offices and other law enforcement departments would have been required to hold...

The mass surveillance of innocent Americans continues as George Orwell’s 1984 becomes more of a reality with each passing day. “All told, we are barreling toward a future where every ritual of public life carries implicit consent to be surveilled,” writes Sidney Fussell for The Atlantic. A new report from Georgetown Law‘s Center on Privacy & Technology (CPT) suggests that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) may be using the rampant problem of illegal immigration as a type of cover to track and spy on Americans in violation of their Fourth Amendment rights. Three years ago, the center revealed that nearly...

Very quietly this morning, Lionsgate dropped the trailer and revealed the title for their Jay Roach-directed, Charles Randolph scripted movie about the women who take on Fox News Channel boss Roger Ailes: Bombshell. While we don’t get a glance at John Lithgow’s Roger Ailes in the current trailer, we see Margot Robbie’s Kayla Pospisil (a fictitious news producer) getting on the elevator with Charlize Theron’s Megyn Kelly and Nicole Kidman’s Gretchen Carlson as they head to the second floor — the executive suite at Fox News Channel’s 1211 Ave. of the Americas. Everyone is just calm and cool here. Earlier...

Amazon, Microsoft and Intel are among leading tech companies putting the world at risk through killer robot development, according to a report that surveyed major players from the sector about their stance on lethal autonomous weapons. Dutch NGO Pax ranked 50 companies by three criteria: whether they were developing technology that could be relevant to deadly AI, whether they were working on related military projects, and if they had committed to abstaining from contributing in the future. "Why are companies like Microsoft and Amazon not denying that they're currently developing these highly controversial weapons, which could decide to kill people...

The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) released a grim update Wednesday to its economic outlook for the next decade, predicting average national deficits of $1.2 trillion every year through 2029, due in large part to recent budget and border security bills. The CBO report noted that, as one of many repercussions from free-spending policies, federal debt held by the public is projected to reach heights not seen since the 1940s, almost equaling the nation's Gross Domestic Product.

…Every minute spent outraged at what Muller did yesterday, is one minute less that Bill Barr is being held accountable for what he is not doing today… Judicial Watch is fighting for one of the more critical buckets of “declassified documents” from within Spygate that has never made sense. This goes to the heart of a two-year-long contention: Why were the Page/Strzok text messages redacted in the first place? Why are their unredacted text messages being protected? Who benefits from this roadblock? The FBI wants to wait until AFTER the 2020 election to release the Lisa Page and Peter Strzok...

Former Ohio Gov. John Kasich plans a likely visit to the first-in-the-nation presidential primary state of New Hampshire next month or in early October, a top Kasich adviser told Fox News. A trip by the very vocal critic of President Trump — first reported by The Washington Post — will spark further speculation that Kasich is seriously weighing a long-shot GOP primary challenge against the president. “The governor’s never closed the door to challenging Trump,” senior adviser John Weaver told Fox News. […] But even though Kasich retains a small group of solid supporters in the state, any path to...
