CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WOWK)- Last week ICE raids were carried out in West Virginia, now the ACLU-WV is looking to hire a full-time candidate who can help the immigrant community. “This is something that’s going on frequently here in West Virginia,” said Billy Wolfe, Communications and Development Director for ACLU-WV. According to ACLU-WV undocumented immigrants are 7.7 times more likely to be arrested by ICE in West Virginia than in the nation at large. That is why Wolfe from ACLU-WV says West Virginia needs someone committed to teaching the immigrant community about their rights. Over the weekend ACLU-WV held their first...

Cameras caught a suspected killer getting a beatdown from the people he was holding hostage in Phoenix. Footage of the incident is just coming to surface now. Carson then barricaded it. Authorities said Carson immediately shot and killed Efran Hernandez. The staff and customers were then ordered to a corner of the store. But as the suspect wandered the store, a hero...

The liberal media were disheartened Monday after Planned Parenthood announced it would take a roughly $60 million hit to its funds just so they could carry out more abortions. The new Title X rule put out by the Trump administration bars clinics from referring patients for abortions. The CBS Evening News was so distraught that they kicked off their evening programming with the story. Meanwhile, both ABC’s World News Tonight and NBC Nightly News relegated the story to new briefs later in their programs. During the opening tease of stories ahead, floundering anchor Norah O’Donnell boasted that the network “talk[ed]...

Are the Trump haters trying to cause a recession in the US so the president won’t be re-elected? I’m not saying they are just hoping for a recession. It’s obvious the haters would like that. But are they trying to cause a recession?

Beto O’Rourke has taken the measure of America and found it wanting. “This country, though we would like to think otherwise,” he intoned last weekend, “was founded on racism, has persisted through racism and is racist today.” This is now a mainstream sentiment in the Democratic Party. Bernie Sanders said earlier this year that the United States was “created” in large part “on racist principles.”

Lightning-rod lawyer Michael Avenatti was merely exercising his First Amendment rights when he demanded $22.5 million from Nike — not extorting them, his attorneys argue in new court papers. “Mr. Avenatti is being charged with a speech crime,” his attorneys Scott Srebnick and Jose Quinon wrote in yet another attempt to convince a Manhattan federal judge to toss his extortion charges. “Every one of the acts of speech attributed to Mr. Avenatti in the Indictment was independently lawful and independently protected by the First Amendment. He had the right to publicly expose truthful information about Nike’s misconduct.” Avenatti was indicted...

Speaking at a bookstore in Manchester, N.H., Dr. Jill Biden urged voters on Monday to consider the "electability" of her husband, former Vice President Joe Biden, ahead of the 2020 Democratic primaries, and how they may have to "swallow a little bit" with the Democratic front-runner in order to defeat President Trump. "I know that not all of you are committed to my husband, and I respect that, but I want you to think about your candidate, his or her electability, and who’s going to win this race," Dr. Biden said. "And so if you're looking at that you've got...

EXPLORE MAGAZINE The Real Kendall County. HISTORY – MURDER IN THE CASTLE JUNE 27, 2013 There was a time when Boerne was a little country town way out by itself in the sticks, miles and miles and light years away from San Antonio, a town of farmers riding in from their places out on the farm-to-market roads, from Kreutzberg and Kendalia and Pleasant Valley and Wasp Creek. It was a town with little traffic and dusty wooden awnings over the sidewalks, a town with sheep grazing behind their fences, with windmills and barns and stock ponds along a packed-dirt Main...

UK: Muslim supermarket security guard joins the Islamic State, blows himself up in Syria AUG 19, 2019 5:00 PM BY ROBERT SPENCER When Omar Hussein was hired at Morrisons, was he questioned as to his views regarding jihad violence? Of course not. That would have been “Islamophobic.” But what if a Muslim had shown up at the Morrisons where Omar Hussein worked who shared his views on Britain? Hussein said: “I hate the UK, the only reason why I would intend to return to the UK is when I want to come and plant a bomb somewhere.” If such a...

"I would encourage my colleagues to visit, meet with the people we were going to meet with, see the things we were going to see, hear the stories we were going to hear," Omar said at a news conference. "We cannot let Trump and Netanyahu succeed in hiding the cruel reality of the occupation from us." "There is no way that we are ever, ever going to allow people to tear us down, to see us cry out of pain, to ever make us feel like our (citizenship) certificate is less than theirs," Omar said. "So we are going to...

BOGOTA, Colombia (AP) — The U.S. has opened up secret communications with Venezuela’s socialist party boss as members of President Nicolás Maduro’s inner circle seek guarantees they won’t face retribution if they cede to growing demands to remove him, a senior U.S. administration official has told The Associated Press. Diosdado Cabello, who is considered the most-powerful man in Venezuela after Maduro, met last month in Caracas with someone who is in close contact with the Trump administration, said the official. A second meeting is in the works but has not yet taken place. The AP is withholding the intermediary’s name...

The world’s most-cited researchers, according to newly released data, are a curiously eclectic bunch. Nobel laureates and eminent polymaths rub shoulders with less familiar names, such as Sundarapandian Vaidyanathan. Vaidyanathan, a computer scientist at the Vel Tech R&D Institute of Technology, a privately run institute, is an extreme example: he has received 94% of his citations from himself or his co-authors up to 2017, according to a study in PLoS Biology this month1. He is not alone. The data set, which lists around 100,000 researchers, shows that at least 250 scientists have amassed more than 50% of their citations from...

“Donald Trump is a racist, white supremacist, white nationalist. So are his supporters.” Some version of that refrain is heard almost hourly somewhere in mainstream media. Democratic politicians seem to proclaim it more often than that. Listening only to the Left, you’d conclude that more than half a century after passage of the 1964 Civil Rights Act and more than a decade after the election of the first black president, the number of racists and white supremacists in America seems to be reaching levels not seen in a hundred years. (In reality, in 1930, when the nation’s population was approximately...

Pot-stirring, flame-throwing former Republican U.S. Rep. Joe Walsh hasn’t ruled out running against President Donald Trump next year, a CNN reporter shared on social media this morning. Walsh was on the cable news station earlier in the day echoing a New York Times op-ed he penned about why a GOP challenger should get in there and push out Trump, calling the sitting president “a racial arsonist who encourages bigotry and xenophobia to rouse his base and advance his electoral prospects.” Walsh has faced some similar accusations.

There are many different scenarios how humanity could perish, but perhaps the least likely is that we ourselves volunteer to do so. For activist Les U. Knight, however, that is exactly the plan he is advocating for: voluntary human extinction to save the planet. ‘I haven’t seen any cohesive argument why our species should continue into the future,’ Knight told DailyMail.com. ‘I have not seen a good reason for us to add one more human to the existing billions when you consider the extinctions of so many other species and when you consider how many people are not being cared...

HARTFORD, Conn. — When University of Connecticut professor Thomas Craemer first began researching reparations for slavery, most mainstream white politicians weren’t talking about the issue. Now, more than a dozen years later, the idea that African Americans should receive restitution for the grievous legacy of enslavement and racial discrimination is sparking a political debate that is helping to shape the 2020 presidential race. “I’m surprised by this myself,” said Craemer, an expert on racial bias and a professor of public policy at the University of Connecticut in Hartford. At the most recent Democratic presidential debate in July, several candidates expressed...
