Donald Trump has declared he wants the NHS to be on the table in any US-UK trade deal and refused to meet the “negative” Labour leader, Jeremy Corbyn, who pledged to oppose US corporations taking over the health service with every breath in his body. On the second day of his state visit, during which he has been hosted by the Queen and Theresa May, the US president set out his ambitions for a “phenomenal” post-Brexit trade deal with the UK. But following a cross-party backlash, the president later appeared to row back on his comments. In an interview with...

Returning from lunch Mr Boyce dealt with the second episode of abuse which involved Pell pushing the chorister against a corridor. Justice Weinberg said the chorister would have been at the front of the procession. “To get to him (Pell) would have to get past or move past a whole bunch of choir boys,” he said. He said it would have been a surprising event with risk and described it as “somewhat improbable.” ..... Justice Weinberg questioned why Pell would have assaulted the claimant in the cathedral a second time. The jury convicted Pell of this assault, which occurred in...

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WOWK/AP) — West Virginia's top prosecutor says Charleston's new ordinance to target protests at abortion clinics could run afoul of Constitutional law. Attorney General Patrick Morrisey on Tuesday released a statement saying the ordinance is problematic because it targets free speech. "We are analyzing it, we are seeing the nature of our state constitution and the breath of it, free speech protections and we are also urging the city council to take steps because they could do this better," says Morrisey Charleston City Council voted 21-5 on Monday to approve restrictions on approaching people as they enter health...

Speaker Nancy Pelosi told senior Democrats that she’d like to see President Donald Trump “in prison” as she clashed with House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler in a meeting on Tuesday night over whether to launch impeachment proceedings. Pelosi met with Nadler (D-N.Y.) and several other top Democrats who are aggressively pursuing investigations against the president, according to multiple sources. Nadler and other committee leaders have been embroiled in a behind-the-scenes turf battle for weeks over ownership of the Democrats’ sprawling investigation into Trump. Nadler pressed Pelosi to allow his committee to launch an impeachment inquiry against Trump — the second...

Senate Republicans say President Trump should postpone tariffs set to be imposed on Mexican exports Monday, and allow more time for negotiators to reach a deal. The senators say further negotiations could help prevent an escalating trade fight they say would damage the U.S. economy. “We have a lot of people who don’t want to see this go into effect next week,” said Senate Republican Whip John Thune (S.D.).

The 1969 GTX Convertible was found on an abandoned property near Traverse City, reportedly after the death of its owner, and it appears to have been sitting there for years. The red two-door is one of 362 like it that were built that year with a 440 V8 and automatic transmission, and it has just 20,269 miles on its odometer. No one has tried to start it, but the owner of Bingham Body and Towing, where it is currently located, told Fox News Autos that he knows a mechanic that worked on it about a decade ago and said it was...

President Donald Trump is canceling a contract that provides government funding to the University of California, San Francisco for research that issues fetal tissue harvested from elective abortions. The Trump administration first focused its sights on the contract this past September, with the National Institute of Health (NIH) warning UCSF that its $2 million annual contract for fetal tissue research would be curtailed to 90 days and possibly canceled altogether. Senior administration officials told The Daily Caller that the contract will be officially terminated Wednesday. The cancelation stems from a 9-month U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) review...

First Lady Melania Trump channeled her inner British Royal on Wednesday as she sat with Queen Elizabeth II for a ceremony commemorating D-Day. For the day in Portsmouth, England, Mrs. Trump paid homage to the famed London-based Irish milliner Philip Treacy — the man behind most of all of the British Royal Family’s hats and fascinators — wearing one of his creations from his Spring/Summer 2019 collection. Think of this hat as the little, British cousin to her iconic custom-made, American-esque Hervé Pierre hat that she donned just a couple of days ago to meet the Queen.

Climate change represents “a near-to midterm existential threat to human civilization, according to an analysis by the Breakthrough National Centre for Climate Restoration. The paper, published by the Australian think tank last week, gives one scenario in which by 2050 "accelerating climate-change impacts pose large negative consequences which might not be undone for centuries." If policymakers fail to act on evidence presented in the current Paris Agreement, in which global human-caused greenhouse emissions will not peak until 2030, this will lock in about 3 degrees Celsius of warming, according to the scenario presented in the report. There is "broad scientific acceptance"...
