Democratic Georgia politician Stacey Abrams argued against Hollywood’s ban against the state of Georgia in response to the state’s new restrictive abortion law on MSNBC Tuesday night. Republican Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp signed a fetal heartbeat bill in May, which, in turn, has spurred many Hollywood actors and companies to halt film production in the state or to announce they will no longer work there.

On September 5, 2017, the Trump Administration announced their decision to terminate the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) initiative. Today, House Democrats took decisive action against these callous actions by passing H.R. 6, the Dream and Promise Act, to protect our nation’s Dreamers, as well as Temporary Protected Status (TPS) and Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) holders, allowing them to contribute fully to our country while providing a pathway to citizenship. San Francisco and America draw strength from our long, proud heritage as a nation of immigrants, who are the constant reinvigoration of our country. In San Francisco alone, 5,600...

In Jesus’ high priestly prayer in John 17, He says: “And now, Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was” (v. 5). Here Jesus alludes to a position He held before creation. It is a tacit claim to His participation in the eternal glory of God. In the fourth century, the church faced a serious crisis with respect to the deity of Christ. The Arian heretics denied the deity of Christ, claiming that Jesus was a creature who was adopted into a special relationship with God. In their controversy with...

Gov. Gavin Newsom has a plan to triple spending on a tax break that puts money in the pockets of low-income families, and top Democrats in the Legislature are pushing him to open the program to undocumented immigrants.

Three former high-ranking administrators have sued New York City Department of Education and Schools Chancellor Richard Carranza, claiming that they were demoted because they’re white. It’s an explosive charge, and one that must be proved—but the allegations reflect, at minimum, the intensifying racial tensions since Carranza took charge of the nation’s largest, most complex public school system 13 months ago. The chancellor threw down the race gauntlet virtually on Day One. He picked fights with white parents on the Upper West Side and in Brooklyn’s Park Slope, promised to achieve racial balance in the city’s famous selective-admissions high schools by...

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem (Old Testament) 1 Kings 9 The Lord Appears to Solomon 9 When Solomon had finished building the temple of the Lord and the royal palace, and had achieved all he had desired to do, 2 the Lord appeared to him a second time, as he had appeared to him at Gibeon. 3 The Lord said to him: “I have heard the prayer and plea you have made before me; I have consecrated this temple, which you have built, by putting my Name there forever. My eyes and my heart will always be there. 4 “As for you,...

While in Verona, Italy on his last “last ever” world tour, Farewell Yellow Brick Road, Elton John told fans: “I’m ashamed of my country for what it has done. It’s torn people apart … I am sick to death of politicians, especially British politicians. “I am sick to death of Brexit. I am a European. I am not a stupid, colonial, imperialist English idiot.” An odd comment, that, coming from Sir Elton John.I guess his thinking has evolved since accepting knighthood – a symbol of the British Empire - in a ceremony at Buckingham Palace in 1998. At the time...

Subtly criticizing President Trump, Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) called on policymakers Tuesday, in his first speech on the Senate floor, to develop a “comprehensive strategy” to respond to China's rapid rise. Romney included several veiled critiques of Trump's policies as he outlined the steps he thinks the country should take to respond to China's economic growth. Romney, who argued that China is poised to become America's “No. 1 geopolitical adversary,” urged American leaders to fortify the U.S. against future Chinese expansion and to take steps to slow China's rising power.

It takes a lot of resilience to look over one’s shoulder at California. We Americans are a proud people and love our country. We know we’re wildly imperfect, but we also have seen our country overcome difficulties to become a more perfect union. California, not so much. One glance at the formerly Golden State is a frightening embarrassment. The latest indictment of liberal leadership is the trash heap of Los Angeles. Literally. Despite the emergence of louse-borne typhus, Los Angeles can’t seem to get its act together. Steve Lopez of the Los Angeles Times reported a week ago on the...

The 450 grain .50-110 caliber can create more energy than the 458 Winchester Magnum. This cartridge is good...

During commencement season, young people across the country enjoy the ceremony marking the completion of their college career, attaining degrees reflecting their interest in ideas, innovation, art, sciences and the myriad of courses offered by American academies. But the camaraderie inherent and necessary as part of the college experience is under attack by a familiar foe: identity politics. This divisive tool is now creating divisions in the very experience that is meant to expand one’s world and our belonging in it. College is meant, in part, to be the shift into adulthood; the experience of moving out of not just...

Supreme Court Associate Justice Clarence Thomas is, once again, under attack. And, once again, the attacks are from liberals who cannot tolerate Thomas' consistent, unyielding and faithful commitment to America's founding principles. The latest concerns Thomas' 20-page opinion offered up in Box v. Planned Parenthood of Indiana and Kentucky, recently considered by the Supreme Court. Planned Parenthood challenged Indiana law prohibiting abortion for reasons of sex, race or non-life threatening deformity. The challenge was upheld in district court and the law overturned. However, the Supreme Court chose not to rule on the matter for procedural reasons, turning it back to...

“‘Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal; for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also’” (Matthew 6:19–21). There is a great potential for your possessions to become idols when you accumulate them for yourself. But possessions that are wisely, willingly, and generously used for kingdom purposes can be a means of accumulating heavenly possessions. When they are hoarded and stored,...

In 1989, two defining moments in modern history occurred. Both involved democratic protests for greater freedom, but they turned out very differently. The first was the peaceful fall of the Berlin Wall, which started a chain reaction that led to the breakup of the Soviet Union and the end of the Cold War.The second was the brutal suppression of the Tiananmen Square protests. The Tiananmen Square protests continue to capture the imagination of freedom-loving people everywhere because of what the protests stood for and how the Chinese government responded to them, then and now.Fundamentally, the protests stood for freedom and democracy. For nearly...

~67% of 900 million eligible voters turned out to vote in India’s recent general election, which Narendra Modi and the BharatiyaJanataParty (BJP, “Indian People’s Party”) won. Yes, most commentators cautiously expected a BJP victory. But the surprise was that the BJP-led coalition claimed 352 seats and 40% of tvotes. For some analysts, there is concern that this landslide win could signal the end of India as a secular state. After all, Modi’s victory speech lambasted “secularists” for what he said was their deceit. Five years ago, the BJP won office by focusing on development. Modi promised a stronger economy, and...
