Çatalhöyük is one of the largest and best preserved Neolithic sites in the world. It is located southeast of the modern Turkish city of Konya, about 90 miles (145 km) from Mount Hasan. The population of Çatalhöyük were early farmers, growing crops such as wheat and barley, and herding sheep and goats. It is thought the people living at Çatalhöyük either went to the rubbish tip (midden) to open their bowels, or carried their feces from their houses to the midden in a vessel or basket to dispose of them. To look for the eggs of intestinal parasites, Dr. Ledger...

June 2 2019 The Ascension of the Lord Reading 1 Acts 1:1-11 In the first book, Theophilus, I dealt with all that Jesus did and taught until the day he was taken up, after giving instructions through the Holy Spirit to the apostles whom he had chosen. He presented himself alive to them by many proofs after he had suffered, appearing to them during forty days and speaking about the kingdom of God. While meeting with them, he enjoined them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for "the promise of the Father about which you have heard me...

Should Obama Be Arrested For Illegally SPYING On Trump? After two years of gas-lighting us with a line that ‘no Obama’s administration did NOT spy on Trump’s team’, it’s now clear they did exactly that. And some of the nations few remaining REAL journalists have been on that story like a dog on a bone. One of those journalists was Sharyl Attkisson, who has herself complained about being spied on by the Obama administration, was among the earlier voices sounding the alarm. Some examples she raises from a piece she wrote in 2017. You’ll recall DNI Clapper falsely assured Congress...

You may remember all the glowing predictions made for the December 2017 tax cuts by congressional Republicans and the Trump administration: Wages would soar for the rank-and-file, corporate investments would surge, and the cuts would pay for themselves. The nonpartisan Congressional Research Service has just published a deep dive into the economic impact of the cuts in their first year, and emerges from the water with a different picture. The CRS finds that the cuts have had virtually no effect on wages, haven’t contributed to a surge in investment, and haven’t come close to paying for themselves. Nor have they...

Scientists at the Chinese Academy of Sciences and China University of Petroleum (Beijing) have demonstrated that CO2 may make a better hydraulic fracturing (fracking) fluid than water. Their research, published May 30 in the journal Joule, could help pave the way for a more eco-friendly form of fracking that would double as a mechanism for storing captured atmospheric CO2. Fracking is a technique used to extract resources from unconventional reservoirs in which fluid (usually water mixed with sand, foaming agents, biocides, and other chemicals) is injected into the rock, fracturing it to release the resources within. Of the approximately 7-15...

It is possible Mueller will come to regret ever being appointed to investigate the phony collusion allegations. Robert Mueller has now completed his special counsel assignment, but he may yet have a role to play in the unraveling Russia conspiracy. It is entirely possible that he will come to regret ever being appointed to investigate the phony collusion allegations against President Donald Trump. The fact that congressional Democrats – along with certain Republicans – are determined to haul him before House and Senate committees is only the beginning of what could become a very messy end to Mueller’s legacy of...

At least one arsonist set two gay-pride flags on fire in front of a Harlem bar just before the start of Pride Month, police said — an act Gov. Cuomo condemned. Cops were called at around 12:20 a.m. Friday to Alibi Lounge on West 139th Street near Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Blvd., where two rainbow flags were set ablaze, police said Saturday. By the time officers arrived the flames were extinguished by the rain, and no one was hurt. The arsonist remained at large, and cops are investigating the crime as a possible bias incident. “Some a–hole set our rainbow...

A transportation company is betting its sleek new hydrogen-powered electric flying vehicles will someday serve as taxis, cargo carriers and ambulances of the sky, but experts say they will have to clear a number of regulatory hurdles before being approved for takeoff years in the future. With six rotors on the roof and seats inside for five people, a passenger model of the Skai (pronounced "sky") unveiled Wednesday near Los Angeles resembles an oversized drone crossed with a luxury SUV. Like a drone, the vehicle from Alaka'i Technologies takes off and lands vertically. It's one of many similar electric flying...

This is a monthly posting of Twitter follower growth for the past month for 2020 presidential candidates. Last Month's Post Here. This is unscientific but I have observed that Twitter growth in followers can be a strong indicator of candidate "popularity" and we certainly saw that in 2016, when it was Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders and the eventual winner Donald Trump who month after month saw the highest growth in followers. My 2016 tracking showed "front-runners" like Jeb Bush, Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio with comparatively slower Twitter follower growth months before they eventually dropped out of the race. So...

[Catholic Caucus] Heresy: No Laughing Matter Laughing Off Heresy Accusation Pope Francis has finally replied to the Open Letter to the Bishops of the World and, as has become typical for this most bizarre of papacies, he has done so through an off-the-cuff remark in an interview with a journalist. According to Catholic News Agency, Pope Francis stated during a recent Spanish-language interview (released earlier this week) that he reacted “with a sense of humor” to the accusation of heresy made against him earlier this month. As CNA’s English translation reads, “It does not hurt me at all. Hypocrisy and...
