"Oh, we'd fill it," McConnell said to laughter from the audience. The Senate GOP leader has viewed confirming judicial nominees as his top priority and the party's best chance at having a long-term impact given the divided Congress. McConnell used his official...

A carefully redacted footnote within a report by FISA Court Presiding Judge Rosemary Collyer has always appeared to be a clue to a domestic surveillance program. Now details behind the redactions tell a concerning story. A brief refresher is needed for those new to the story. In April 2017 Judge Collyer wrote a highly critical FISA Court opinion following discoveries by Director Admiral Rogers of government contractors accessing the NSA database, and extracting illegal search results from the electronic records of every American. The scale of abuse was incredible [SEE HERE] and the surveillance issues had been covered up for...

When Taiwan became the first place in Asia to legalise same-sex unions, hundreds of gay people marked the occasion by registering to marry. It marked a significant change on the island, where the majority of people only relatively recently became supportive of same-sex relationships. In many other places there has also been a shift - often a rapid one - towards more liberal attitudes. For example, in 2007, one in five South Koreans said homosexuality should be accepted, -but, by 2013, that figure had doubled. Attitudes among the public also appear to have softened in other places including Argentina, Chile,...

With all the emotions, critiques and observations that can be embroiled traveling in a movie. Never before have I felt privileged. I’ve mounted every description and rode on all adjectives available. But this one felt like an honor. A package of buried treasure gift wrapped, delivered on the front porch of your spirit that feels like a healing sympathetic. The linchpin of the movie is pulled in the deep south, of a culture with heels dug in. In a corner of the world on the cusp of change. But the essence is the courage unveiled in hearts unlettered stumbling for...

Pakistan: Muslim mobs attack Hindus after doctor accused of blasphemy Muslim mobs erupted in violence after Hindu doctor Ramesh Kumar, was accused of blasphemy. Abortion is front and center of most political debates currently. The recent wave of pro-Life legislation in Alabama, Georgia, Ohio, Kentucky, Missouri, and Mississippi have good intentions from good people, but the approach is fundamentally flawed. They are trying to legislate something which essentially does not belong to that domain. The abortion issue is fundamentally not political, and Conservatives should not follow the examples of the totalitarian left who try to legislate toward the erosion of Capitalism on their path to Socialism. These recent pro-Life laws take aim only at the Supreme Court. They are states’ answers to Roe v....
