Douglas MacArthur told West Point cadets, May 1962: "The soldier, above all other men, is required to practice the greatest act of religious training-sacrifice. In battle and in the face of danger and death, he discloses those Divine attributes which his Maker gave when He created man in His own image ... No physical courage and no brute instinct can take the place of Divine help which alone can sustain him. However horrible the incidents of war may be, the soldier who is called upon to offer and to give his life for his country is the noblest development of...

In the world of clandestine intelligence operations, discovery is an ever-present danger. Operations are by definition risky. Operators, assets and projects are regularly compromised. You plan in advance for such eventualities, and you structure your networks so that they can survive adversity. The loss of a source or even of several sources does not mean that the entire clandestine organization of which they are part simply ceases to exist. Assets that are “blown” are cut away. Remaining assets “go to ground” or are put on ice. Patience is key. The network waits out the scrutiny and resumes work when things...

Amazing footage of Queen Victoria has been unearthed after being discarded for decades in an archive at a New York museum. It shows the monarch being greeted by dignitaries on a trip to Ireland in 1900 just one year before she died in what is believed to be the last time she was caught on camera. In the crisp black and white footage, Victoria, who appears to be wearing sunglasses, smiles as she is handed a huge basket of flowers by two girls, who curtsy as they approach her. She is also seen holding an umbrella which she seems to...

There’s a well-worn saying on the right: Scratch a progressive, find a fascist. Usually, that’s a bit of hyperbole to point toward the tendency of progressives to embrace top-down, big government solutions to every problem. But in this case, it’s almost literally true, though the real progressive is embracing a fictional fascist from the show Game of Thrones. Vox’s Matt Yglesias published a piece yesterday at Vox arguing that Daenerys was right to burn people alive in the city of King’s Landing because she needed to convince the entire kingdom not to question the dictates of a powerful central government.

Sitting on a bus in Boston, thousands of miles from her home in Hong Kong, college student Frances Hui crossed paths with an inquisitive fellow passenger. Where are you from? the passenger pressed. Recommended Video When she eventually replied "Hong Kong," the man started to get aggressive, Hui recounted. He insisted that she should define herself as "from China" - which was handed control of the former British colony in 1997.

To get a sense of why Putin meddled in our elections one need go no further than the Obama administration's hijinks. Post-Mueller report insanity has gripped the nation. In between Presidential proclamations that the report provides proof of his exoneration, and Democratic declarations that the report contains evidence of crimes deserving of impeachment, lies the reality of U.S.-Russian relations, and the fact that these two nations live in a world where their combined nuclear arsenals can eliminate humanity as we know it. While President Trump struggles to gain traction for his campaign promise to better relations, his political opponents are...

Some US Navy pilots reported spotting UFOs while training over the East Coast in 2014 and 2015, they said in a recent New York Times report. The pilots told the paper they saw “strange objects” with “no visible engine or infared exhaust plumes” reaching at least 30,000 feet and flying at hypersonic speeds almost daily while training off the aircraft carrier Theodore Roosevelt. “These things would be out there all day,” said Lt. Ryan Graves, an F/A-18 Super Hornet pilot who has been with the Navy for 10 years and who said he reported the sightings to the Pentagon and...

Author Scott Adams stated in a recent video that President Donald Trump has “no chance of re-election” due to the power of the social media Masters of the Universe to shut down conservatives. Author and media personality Scott Adams stated in a recent video that he believes that President Trump’s chances of winning the 2020 selection cycle have been significantly lowered due to the power that social media has over public discourse. In a YouTube video titled “Episode 540 Scott Adams: Slaughtermeter Reset to Zero Due to Social Media Manipulation, Pelosi,” Adams discusses how Silicon Valley tech firms manipulate online...

Has anyone coined a term to describe the irrational fear of the government imposing laws based on religion? If not, I humbly suggest "theocraphobia." In the United States, Alabama's ban of abortion after a fetal heartbeat is detected has resulted in a widespread rash of theocraphobia. It has crept into Canada, which seems especially vulnerable to it in the wake of the election of Jason Kenney and the United Conservative Party in Alberta. The comparisons to the Puritan tyranny of The Handmaid's Tale (based on the novel by wealthy white Canadian feminist Margaret Atwood) predictably rolled in, and the accusations...

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem (Old Testament) 1 Kings 4 Solomon’s Wisdom 29 God gave Solomon wisdom and very great insight, and a breadth of understanding as measureless as the sand on the seashore. 30 Solomon’s wisdom was greater than the wisdom of all the people of the East, and greater than all the wisdom of Egypt. 31 He was wiser than anyone else, including Ethan the Ezrahite—wiser than Heman, Kalkol and Darda, the sons of Mahol. And his fame spread to all the surrounding nations. 32 He spoke three thousand proverbs and his songs numbered a thousand and five. 33 He spoke...

“Time to pay the piper” is an appropriate phrase for what I hope lies ahead in Washington, D.C. The investigation of President Trump failed to find any collusion (or obstruction). The Democrats' hero Robert Mueller and his team of prosecutors spent two years and $30-plus million to tell most of us what we already knew. Their report, designed to allow continual Democrat attacks, exonerated Trump. Despite best efforts, they failed, at least in the eyes of the Democratic rabid base. With that out of the way, it is now time to pay the piper. Attorney General William Barr is now...

Judge Michael Kwan, who's been a judge court judge in Taylorsville, a suburb of Salt Lake City, since 1998. Between 2016 and 2017, he shared inappropriate posts on Facebook and LinkedIn about the president, according to Utah's State Supreme Court. Kwan violated the judicial code of conduct and lessened "the reputation of our entire judiciary," Justice John Pearce wrote in an opinion on Wednesday.
