Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

(Old Testament)

1 Kings 4

Solomon’s Wisdom

29 God gave Solomon wisdom and very great insight, and a breadth of understanding as measureless as the sand on the seashore. 30 Solomon’s wisdom was greater than the wisdom of all the people of the East, and greater than all the wisdom of Egypt. 31 He was wiser than anyone else, including Ethan the Ezrahite—wiser than Heman, Kalkol and Darda, the sons of Mahol. And his fame spread to all the surrounding nations. 32 He spoke three thousand proverbs and his songs numbered a thousand and five. 33 He spoke about plant life, from the cedar of Lebanon to the hyssop that grows out of walls. He also spoke about animals and birds, reptiles and fish. 34 From all nations people came to listen to Solomon’s wisdom, sent by all the kings of the world, who had heard of his wisdom.[e]

Almighty and Eternal Father,
How Glorious and Wonderful You Are!
Your Magnificence and Perfection are Overwhelming.

Your Righteousness,
and Your Profound Holiness!
For It is You Who Made All That Exists,
From the Mightiest Galaxies to the Tiniest Atom.
You Know Us Inside and Out.
Our Hearts and Thoughts belong to You.
For You Alone Are Worthy,
You Alone Are LORD,
You Alone Are The One True God of Abraham,
and Indeed of ALL People.
Your Promises and Precepts are Eternal.
Your Judgments and Word are Forever True.

You ARE The Truth.
Let God be True, and every man be a liar.

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

For YEARS, I have been taking the online test to get onto a very famous game show that gives the answers and the contestant has to come up with the QUESTION. Most of you know what I am talking about. I play online every day (AFTER I have done the Thread...THAT Comes FIRST), and I seldom get less than 10 out of 12 correct. I nearly always get "Final Jeopardy" correct, and it is recorded in my "stats" for the game. I don't do well in the "Sports" or "Pop Culture" categories, but as for History, Geography, Art, Religion, and, of course, THE BIBLE, I ace it every time. And yet, there is a funny expression:

"If I'm so smart, how come I'm not RICH?"

Well, there is more to being "smart" than just facts and data. Brains without integrity can descend into "cunning", and knowledge without goodness can be robotic and a little creepy. The perfect combination is, of course, Intelligence, Learning, Emotional Maturity, and Righteousness...that which we call "Wisdom". And the Bible tells us that the Beginning of Wisdom is something called "Fear of the LORD".

Solomon obtained his Wisdom straight from the LORD. When he stayed in the Lord's embrace by obeying His Word, Solomon prospered. His KNOWLEDGE was his own coming from study and his own innate intelligence. This knowledge was in many categories: Literature, Botany, Biology, Astronomy, Politics, Law, Religion, Logic, Architecture, Art, and Human Nature. But his WISDOM was a gift from God.

And, by indulging his own lusts and desires, Solomon was putting that Tremendous Gift in JEOPARDY!

Maybe they would take letters of recommendation from the Freepers who are devoted to your thread.

The way it works is this:

You take the online test.

If you get over a certain % correct, it goes into a lottery.

And then it’s up to to that.

Because of the “quiz show scandal” of the 50’s they have to be VERY careful about any kind of favoritism or “recommendations”.
