Former British intelligence officer Christopher Steele has reportedly canceled a scheduled appearance at a conference in Baltimore next week. Politico reported Monday that Steele, who put together an infamous dossier of salacious allegations about President Trump's alleged ties to Russia, was supposed to speak via video conference at the "Reawakening the Spirit of Democracy" conference. The speaking engagement had not previously been announced. Washington Post columnist Anne Applebaum, who was set to moderate the panel Steele would have taken part in, told Politico that he got "cold feet" and backed out on advice of his counsel. The video chat would...

It’s a bit premature, but I’d like to be the first to welcome to the Republican Party those Sunrise Movement kids who confronted Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) about the Green New Deal... And please do continue to make that 12-year deadline as famous as you can. Thank you, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY)! Thank you, lunatic Sunrise Movement! Thank you for doing your part to create more and more climate skeptics, more and more Republicans, more and more reasonable people who will soon see through your tired-ass lies. Not every one of the kids in the video below will see the...

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s top aide illegally funneled more than $1 million in campaign donations to two companies he owned, according to a complaint filed Monday with the Federal Elections Commission. Saikat Chakrabarti set up Brand New Congress PAC to collect and bundle donations for newbie politicians including Ms. Ocasio-Cortez. He then diverted more than $1 million into two of his companies that did campaign work, skirting reporting requirements, said the complaint by the National Legal and Policy Center. “These are not minor or technical violations. We are talking about real money here,” said Tom Anderson, director of NLPC’s Government Integrity...

People on Earth who've gotten sunburns are familiar with the sun's powerful rays — but the moon suffers from sunburn, too. Some regions of the lunar surface exhibit a distinctive pattern of darker and lighter swirls. Using NASA's ARTEMIS mission — which stands for Acceleration, Reconnection, Turbulence and Electrodynamics of the Moon's Interaction with the Sun — astronomers have revealed new clues about the origin of these swirls. The sun releases a constant flow of charged particles known as solar wind into space. While Earth's natural magnetic field deflects solar-wind particles, the moon has a weaker magnetic field, leaving some areas of...

Full title: California Democrat spills the beans, says ‘gun confiscation’ is the ultimate goal to ‘prevent all gun violence’ It’s actually a good thing that Rep. Thompson let the cat out of the bag concerning what his political party is planning for the future of America. Their first step is to introduce what they love to call “reasonable gun control” measures – which aren’t in any way reasonable, by the way – as a soft-sell into total gun confiscation later on down the road.

The non-stop push by the American left to dismantle existing American time-honored and time-tested institutions is how they will force socialism and central control on the American people. They’ll continue to destroy the bedrock institutions of Western culture, such as religion, schools, family, capitalism, businesses, law and order, the Constitution including the First and Second Amendment, and the rule of law. When those pushing back surrender at the ballot box, the scales will tip, and the left will achieve their ultimate plan to destroy America. Has anybody noticed the ideology of the Progressive movement has significant similarities to the psychology...

“The traffic has increased so greatly,” said Steve McCroskey, Eddy County planner, 48, a 1989 graduate of Carlsbad High. “If we had this much traffic when we were cruising (in high school), I don’t think any kid would have gotten home without a wreck.” John Waters, executive director of the Carlsbad Department of Development, said about 43,000 vehicles pass through this intersection each day and that the population in a 20-mile radius of Carlsbad has gone from 42,000 in 2010 to an estimated 75,000 today. Those numbers are attributable to a boom in oil and gas business that started in...

Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York believes that the stream of attacks that GOP lawmakers and the conservative media spew her way stem from her gender. “I am as powerful as a man, and it drives them crazy,” the freshman congresswoman told David Remnick, the editor of The New Yorker, after she emerged as the Republican Party’s bête noire over the course of the annual Conservative Political Action Conference that ended on Saturday. Ocasio-Cortez was responding to comments made by a writer for the feminist news outlet Jezebel, who said women in politics are characterized as either “hideous harpies,” such...

Two political action committees founded by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s top aide funneled over $1 million in political donations into two of his own private companies, according to a complaint filed with the Federal Election Commission on Monday. The cash transfers from the PACs — overseen by Saikat Chakrabarti, the freshman socialist Democrat's chief of staff — run counter to her pledges to increase transparency and reduce the influence of "dark money" in politics. Chakrabarti's companies appear to have been set up for the sole purpose of obscuring how the political donations were used. The truth about democratic socialism Watch Full...

Roberts said she was promised she could challenge him on the “red flags” over the alleged racist and homophobic attack and that she’d get new information out of him. “I’m a black gay woman, he’s a black gay man,” she said. “He’s saying that there’s a hate crime, so if I’m too hard, then my LGBT community is going to say, ‘You don’t believe a brother,’ if I’m too light on him, it’s like, ‘Oh, because you are in the community, you’re giving him a pass.'” “It was one of the most challenging interviews I’ve ever had to do,” she...

What if I told you that we have at least 10,000 years of power available to us at this very moment and we just aren’t using it. Instead it sits in fields aging away doing nothing. I am not joking! What we call Nuclear Waste is really a lie. Here is it really is: Fuel or the building block of fuel. The legacy plants used in the US use Uranium 235 at around 3% enrichment as a fuel source. After the Uranium 235 fuel is consumed the rest is considered waste. What is left of the 97% is 96% Uranium...

In the discussion of the nation’s problem with child care costs, a crucial factor has gone mostly unmentioned. This is one of the most regulated industries. These regulations are driving up costs. Adding more government control of the industry risks making a bad situation even worse. To be sure, costs vary by state. So too do the relevant regulatory regimes. According to data from Child Care Aware, child care for a toddler in a Massachusetts center costs on average a whopping $18,845, or 65 percent on the average single-parent family’s income in the state. Low-cost Mississippi, on the other hand,...

A primary school that taught pupils about homosexuality as part of a programme to challenge homophobia has stopped the lessons after hundreds of children were withdrawn by parents in protest. In a letter to parents, the school said: “Up to the end of this term, we will not be delivering any No Outsiders lessons in our long-term year curriculum plan, as this half term has already been blocked for religious education (RE).
