BALTIMORE — A Maryland woman whose death last year was blamed on an attack by a panhandler was actually killed by her husband and his adult daughter, police said Sunday. Keith Smith, 52, had told police that his wife, Jacquelyn, an engineer from Harford County, was trying to give money to a panhandler at a traffic light when she was robbed and fatally stabbed. Both were arrested in Harlingen, Texas, near the Mexico border. Harrison said the two were preparing to leave the country.

JERUSALEM (AP) — The United States has officially shuttered its consulate in Jerusalem, downgrading the status of its main diplomatic mission to the Palestinians by folding it into the U.S. Embassy to Israel. For decades, the consulate functioned as a de facto embassy to the Palestinians. Now, that outreach will be handled by a Palestinian affairs unit, under the command of the embassy. The symbolic shift hands authority over U.S. diplomatic channels with the West Bank and Gaza to ambassador David Friedman, a longtime supporter and fundraiser for the West Bank settler movement and fierce critic of the Palestinian leadership....

Nearly 11 million Americans nationwide would have been capped from deducting more than $323 billion in state and local taxes in 2017 because of changes enacted in the GOP's tax reform legislation, according to an audit released Tuesday by the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration — and expect similar results for the 2018 tax year. The 28-page report offers a new window into the full scope of the $10,000 cap on SALT deductions, which is supported by the White House and top congressional Republicans but has been heavily criticized by the leaders of many high-tax Democratic states, including New...

Leasing rights on western lands with some of the world’s highest densities of sage grouse were sold this week to energy developers for as little as $2 an acre — the result of a recent Trump administration directive to roll back Obama-era protections for the iconic bird. Thirty-one parcels in Wyoming containing 57,800 acres of prime sage-grouse habitat are among those being auctioned online by the federal Bureau of Land Management. Conservationists call the area the “golden triangle” because of its importance for the species, which has suffered a sharp decline in the past 15 years as oil and gas...

For the Democrats to interview in open hearings a convicted liar & fraudster, at the same time as the very important Nuclear Summit with North Korea, is perhaps a new low in American politics and may have contributed to the “walk.” Never done when a president is overseas. Shame!

Ernie Lacroix reached two milestones on February 23: He finished his 20th-straight Cowtown 5K, and his first race as a 100-year-old. The Fort Worth, Texas, resident hit the century mark the day before on February 22, and what better way to celebrate than to do so by embarking on that time-honored tradition? “I have no idea of what prompted me to give the Cowtown a go,” Lacroix told Runner’s World. “I knew beforehand that I didn’t have a chance to win anything, but all the people obviously enjoying the competition looked like fun, so I gave it a go. I...

For the first time in history, a commercially-built and operated American crew spacecraft and rocket, which launched from American soil, is on its way to the International Space Station. The SpaceX Crew Dragon spacecraft lifted off at 2:49 a.m. EST Saturday on the company’s Falcon 9 rocket from Launch Complex 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. “Today’s successful launch marks a new chapter in American excellence, getting us closer to once again flying American astronauts on American rockets from American soil,” said NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine. “I proudly congratulate the SpaceX and NASA teams for this major milestone...

UK: Muslim rape gang gave 14-year-old drink and raped her repeatedly — “I was nothing but a toy to play with” Why does this keep happening? One survivor of a Muslim rape gang in the UK said that her rapists would quote Quran to her, and believed their actions justified by Islam. The Qur’an teaches that Infidel women can be lawfully taken for sexual use (cf. its allowance for a man to take “captives of the right hand,” 4:3, 4:24, 23:1-6, 33:50, 70:30). The Qur’an says: “O Prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers...

Professor claims Chrislam, amalgamation of Christianity and Islam, “may hold a key or two for a more peaceful world” “John Nassivera is a former professor who retains affiliation with Columbia University’s Society of Fellows in the Humanities.” Here he argues that a blend of Christianity and Islam could be the key to world peace, and apparently for Nassivera this blend requires Christians to give up the idea of the divinity of Christ, which he claims in the section of his article not reproduced below that many early Christians didn’t believe, and that many Christians don’t believe today. That may be...

“We Muslims will set India on fire. We will kill them and blow them up.” Many Muslims in Pakistan are seeing the prospect of war between India and Pakistan as the latest episode of the 1,400-year jihad against India, one of the bloodiest of jihads, very little known in the West. The History of Jihad From Muhammad to ISIS contains the whole shocking story of the jihad against India, told from Muslim sources. “Jamaat-e-Islami is recruiting volunteers if India and Pakistan go to war,” by Roohan Ahmed, Samaa, March 2, 2019: Eleven-year-old Aamir Khan is homeless, doesn’t know who his...

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez continues to draw fire from her critics on the right for her Green New Deal, but the New York Democratic congresswoman is making fresh headlines this weekend for getting slammed by what would seem an unlikely voice: a former president of Greenpeace Canada. Here’s what Patrick Moore, who left his high-ranking role at Greenpeace decades ago, had to say on Twitter TWTR, -0.52% about her: ‘You’re just a garden-variety hypocrite like the others. And you have ZERO expertise at any of the things you pretend to know.’ He launched his latest criticism at Ocasio-Cortez — there have been...

It’s time to go sit in the corner, Billy! Mayor de Blasio finally admitted Tuesday that his costly and controversial Renewal plan to fix nearly 100 of the city’s worst schools was a failure — pulling the plug on a years-long effort that cost taxpayers $773 million. “We did not say everything would be perfect,” the mayor said, offering a huge understatement to describe a program that saw one-quarter of its schools either closed or merged. “We said we were ready to go out there and create real investment, help kids right now, and see how many schools could really...

Lee County’s sheriff is saying 14 people are dead amid “catastrophic” damage there following a possible tornado this afternoon. And more people are missing as crews search through wreckage and debris. Sheriff Jay Jones told WRBL-TV on Sunday that damage followed a path several miles long and appeared up to a fourth of a mile wide. “I can say that at this time we have 14 confirmed fatalities," Jones said. "And again, the search continues. We still have some people that are reported missing.” Lee County was only one of several areas across Alabama hit by severe weather, as damage...

Communism and the Fake Vatican Summit Conceal Homosexual Agenda by David Martin When the Vatican announced in September that it would be holding its February summit on clerical sex-abuse, Catholics throughout the world were under the impression that this was all about the Protection of Minors in the Church, not realizing that the Vatican’s homosexual network had generated the event to protect its own interests. In hindsight, we see that the summit was all about concealing the Vatican’s collusion with homosexuality under the guise of “protecting minors.” The fact is that the issue of homosexual priests—the very cause of the sex-abuse...
