A weeklong series dedicated to exploring everything that’s happening in the world of ice cream right now. Instagram killed the ice-cream cup. The giant, dripping ice-cream cone is the status food-photo of the summer. You know the shot — piled high with as many scoops as gravity will allow, held out by a disembodied hand, as just-melting ice-cream dribbles barely hang on. Always in a cone. These days, the demand for cones is so high that there’s even a start-up devoted to them, the Konery, which sells “premium, artisanal” waffle cones in psychedelic colors and flavors — like red velvet,...

RUSH: Let’s dissect some of this North Korea stuff, because the main thing here is it isn’t new. The North Koreans and their nuclear desires is an old story. For those of you who are Gen X, you might remember the nineties. For those of you who are Millennials, you won’t, and you’re just gonna have to trust me that throughout the nineties, the Clinton administration — 1993 all the way to 2000 — North Korea was, off and on, a top-tier story and precisely about their nuclear ambitions and desires. Throughout that period, throughout two terms of the Clinton...

Even though the modern world isn’t any more dangerous than it was thirty or forty years ago, it feels like a more perilous place. Or, more accurately, we inhabit the world today in a way that’s much more risk averse; for a variety of very interesting and nuanced reasons, our tolerance for risk, especially concerning our children’s safety, has steadily declined. So we remove jungle gyms from playgrounds, ban football at recess, prohibit knives (even the butter variety) at school, and would rather have our kids playing with an iPad than rummaging through the garage or roaming around the neighborhood.Unfortunately,...

They lied about repealing Obamacare, now Mitch McConnell's DC slime machine spending millions spreading lies about Roy Moore, bearing false witness. Why? We know why. We all know why. Roy Moore's honest and Moore's his own man. Moore fears God, stands for the Constitution, fights for what is right and believes what we believe. Drain the swamp. Send McConnell a message. Send them all a message. Roy Moore, Senate. My name's Roy Moore and I approve this message.

When I was growing up, I noticed that my father kept his car well-stocked with supplies. A lot of the equipment was for his job busting poachers as a game warden, but most of the things were for emergency situations that could happen to anyone. And there were plenty of times when my dad was able to put those supplies to work.Be it a maintenance issue or a snowstorm, keeping the following items in your vehicle can save you time and discomfort, and perhaps even your very life, should an emergency arise. Obviously, the necessity of some items depends...

[snip] Brooks expressed his sadness over Trump’s decision, claiming he was “baffled and disappointed Mitch McConnell and the Swamp somehow misled the President into endorsing Luther Strange.” Brooks has previously registered his opposition to McConnell, calling for his ouster last month after the failure of Republican efforts to pass health care legislation. And so, in light of Trump’s tweet knocking the Majority Leader, Brooks has made one last-ditch effort to win back his affection, telling the president that Strange and McConnell don’t “support [his] agenda,” and asking Trump to reconsider his endorsement: Mo Brooks @mobrooksforsen I agree completely, Mr. President....

So what do you do if you are an abortion advocate who lost two presidential elections in a row? For Hillary Clinton it is considering becoming a Methodist pastor. The news that Clinton would consider becoming a pastor in the United Methodist Church is not surprising given that the Methodist Church supported abortion for years until recently and still has a large contingent of pastors and other church leaders who strongly support abortion. Here’s more: According to The Atlantic, Clinton told her longtime pastor Bill Shillady, at a recent photo shoot for his new book, that she wants to preach...

This is why we can’t have nice things in the United States. Parents who willfully abuse their children into believing they are transgenders are now suing schools because they are unfit parents. That was the case with a 5-year-old, yes that is correct, a 5-year-old “transgender” who attended a charter school in St. Paul, Minnesota. The parents “thought that their 5-year-old boy, who now identifies as a girl, would learn and thrive. But instead, the parents alleged that the school violated their child’s civil rights, by not protecting against gender-based bullying and hostility.” How does a 5-year-old child even understand...

Last week, I wrote about the Unite the Right rally scheduled to occur this Saturday, August 12. Again, this is an event aimed at uniting the right wing against the totalitarian communist left aimed at destroying our country via immigration and regulation. Our First Amendment rights are under attack as evidenced by Charlottesville’s decision yesterday to cancel the permit and move the event due to “security reasons.” On Monday, a press conference was held and City Manager Maurice Jones said that event leader Jason Kessler can still have the event, but it must be held in McIntire Park as opposed...

A man who climbed a power tower near downtown Santa Rosa on Tuesday shocked himself and fell about 80 feet, suffering major burns and injuries and sparking a large, brief power outage in the city. The PG&E transmission tower is along the Prince Memorial Greenway and Santa Rosa Creek, near Sixth Street. About 1:45 p.m. the climber had gone up about 80 feet of the 100‑foot‑tower and was on a cross arm when he was shocked. As he fell he hit parts of the structure before landing in dry grass, where his burning clothing started a small fire, said Santa...

The House Ethics Committee announced Wednesday that it will extend its inquiry into Rep. John Conyers's (D., Mich.) payments to his former chief of staff. The committee said it needed more time to review a report by the Office of Congressional Ethics, the Associated Press reports. The report suggests that there is "substantial reason" to believe that Conyers paid his chief of staff, Cynthia Martin, for work she did not perform. In April of 2016, Conyers claimed to have placed Martin on unpaid leave, after she pleaded guilty to receiving stolen property. However, the ethics office said that she was...

Question: "I am a new Christian. What is the next step?" Answer: Congratulations! If you are a new believer, you have just experienced the beginning of your new, eternal life (John 3:16; 10:10). The world has watched, seemingly without recourse, as North Korea continues to rapidly develop intercontinental nuclear missile capabilities. After two recent tests, experts now believe North Korea could strike as far as Chicago or London. Those favoring diplomacy above all else—which has utterly failed over the past 25 years—must realize that North Korea is on the cusp of being able to threaten every US citizen on a whim. Now, according to a report released by the Defense Intelligence Agency, North Korea has successfully produced a miniaturized nuclear warhead that will fit its ballistic missiles. While North Korea may not yet...
