Rep. Ted Lieu: If Trump fired Rosenstein and Mueller, "I believe Congress would begin impeachment proceedings." https://t.co/lqJ0JTg1l6 — Kyle Griffin (@kylegriffin1) June 17, 2017 Rep. Ted Lieu (D-Calif.) said Friday that Congress would come together and “begin impeachment proceedings” against President Trump if he fired special counsel Robert Mueller and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein. “All Americans, regardless of party, agree on the fundamental principle that no one is above the law,” Lieu said on MSNBC. “And if President Trump were to fire Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein, and then [get] special counsel Mueller fired, I believe Congress would begin impeachment...

On 10 May, 1953, a front was passing through Slave Lake, a village on the South shore of Lesser Slave Lake in  Alberta, Canada.  It was cool, cloudy, and windy. A 63-year-old Cree grandmother and her partner were hunting small game near Florida Lake.  The wind was from the NE, at 12 to 24 mph. At dawn, the temperature had been 40 degrees F. On the morning of the 11th it would be 35 degrees F.  The high for the 10th was 58 degrees. Bella Twin and her partner Dave Auger were going to make hunting history. They were...

magine two decades of never being able to fully relieve yourself in the bathroom. That was the experience a 22-year-old Chinese man lived with before doctors in Shanghai removed 30 inches of his extremely swollen colon. Weighing nearly 29 pounds, his colon was filled with feces that had accumulated there over his lifetime. He told doctors that he’d suffered constipation for his entire life, and that laxatives only offered minor relief. Doctor Yin Lu of Tenth People’s Hospital of Shanghai, where the surgery was performed, told Chinese news site The Paper that the man’s abdomen looked as if he was...

On June 2, 2017, in a Letter regarding US withdrawal from Paris climate agreement addressed to the MIT community, Professor Rafael Reif, president of MIT, criticized President Trump’s decision to exit the Paris Climate Accords. In this refutation, we propose to clarify the scientific understanding of the Earth’s climate and to dispel the expensively fostered popular delusion that man-made global warming will be dangerous and that, therefore, the Paris Agreement would be beneficial. Professor Reif wrote, “Yesterday, the White House took the position that the Paris climate agreement – a landmark effort to combat global warming by reducing greenhouse gas...

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem Isaiah Isaiah 57 57 The righteous perish,     and no one takes it to heart; the devout are taken away,     and no one understands that the righteous are taken away     to be spared from evil. 2 Those who walk uprightly     enter into peace;     they find rest as they lie in death. 3 “But you—come here, you children of a sorceress,     you offspring of adulterers and prostitutes! 4 Who are you mocking?     At whom do you sneer     and stick out your tongue? Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name Jah, and rejoice before him. A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation. Psalm 68:4-5 KJV The Chicago shooter in Alexandria was who many have been warning America about for the last decade. Someone so brainwashed by the cult of liberalism he loses his own identity and decides killing Repubs is justified to save society from people so socially immoral that their living is a threat to mankind. For people who are mentally...

Yesterday’s news, aside from the usual Trump obstructing, colluding, and making money on his investments, included a ship collision. As described by ABC, a “Navy destroyer collides with container ship off coast of Japan.” NBC had a similar headline, “Navy destroyer collides with ship off Japan.” Fox News worded their headline a little differently, “US Navy involved in collision.” As did CNN saying, “Navy destroyer collision off Japan.” It was a terrible accident as US sailors are missing and potentially injured or worse, but my point is regarding the choice of words describing what happened.
  • Richard Epstein: Is Comey guilty of influencing an investigation?

Comey’s testimony was constructed to lay the foundation for the special prosecutor to make a finding that President Trump had violated the well-established statutory prohibitions against obstruction of justice. But the obstruction charges are not confined to impolitic tweets, and, ironically, may be applicable to Comey’s own effort to influence the FBI investigation.

Tom Morello constructed a band dedicated to bashing capitalism, among other supposed “injustices.” But beware, Morello fans: this guitarist is, unsurprisingly, worth millions. Tom Morello, lead guitarist of Prophets of Rage and Rage Against the Machine, takes to Twitter constantly – though not necessarily to discuss his music (given the band’s taste for screaming and ear-ringing metallica, maybe this isn’t such a bad thing). In light of his loud adherence to the Resistance, Morello has an unquenchable penchant for the political.

In May, Chief of Naval Operations Admiral John Richardson and acting Secretary of the Navy Sean Stackley appeared before a Senate Defense Appropriations Subcommittee hearing to discuss the recently unveiled fiscal year 2018 defense budget and its effects on the Navy. The news was not good about the state of the Navy and where the service is headed. Despite campaign promises to rebuild the military from the twin disasters of sequestration and the 2011 Budget Control Act combined with nearly 16 years of combat deployments, the first Trump budget for the Navy does little to look to the future. This...

THEY GOT NOTHIN’ The recent testimonies of James Comey and Jeff Sessions would appear to have put to rest much of the suspicions of “collusion” and “obstruction of justice” that have been passionately pursued by the leftards in the Congress, the Lame Stream Media, Facebook, etc. In the nine months they have been investigating these issues, I have no doubt that, in their desperate anti-Trump zeal, they have frantically looked under every rock on this planet and have found absolutely nothing!! Considering the daily postings of fake, fictitious and bald-faced mendacious “news” items based on leaked information from anonymous (or...

If you are in a country illegally, breaking the laws of the country you are in, shouldn’t you be afraid of being found and deported? Well that’s what U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement chief Thomas Homan said Tuesday in response to a growing cry from liberal activists complaining about ICE agents enforcing federal law. Anyone in the country without authorization can be arrested at any time. And those who have been ordered deported by judges and who did not show up for hearings (which happened countless times during the Obama years) must be removed from the country if those laws...

Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr., was the father of the noted Supreme Court justice of the same name. Among other things, he was a poet whose most prominent work might be Old Ironsides, the poem credited with helping save the USS Constitution from being scrapped. Another of his poems was an interpretation of his grandmother's eye-witness account of the Battle of Bunker Hill, fought on the 17th of June in 1775. My grandmother had this committed to memory and used to recite it to me as a child. This is that poem. Grandmother's Story of Bunker Hill Battle as She Saw...
  • What gun debate? There is no gun debate in Washington, D.C. (baf alert)

There is zero chance that the shooting of U.S. Rep. Steve Scalise earlier this week will change anything about the gun debate in Washington, D.C. That’s because there is no gun debate in Washington, D.C. The NRA has won. Not the debate — the gun lobby remains very wrong on the facts. But the group had won the politics — big time. I have been a gun owner all my life. I’ve shot long guns of every kind and a variety of handguns. I have no problem with people owning them for legitimate purposes. I own a half dozen of...
