I'm originally from Reno, currently living near Sacramento, I took Tuesday off work to go try and help out GOP in Washoe county. I don't have a lot of close political ties to anyone working for GOP side, and want to make sure I can meet up with the right people to help get out the vote, etc. Any advice would be appreciated. If nothing else I plan to show up early to Reno GOP office and say, how can I help? Thanks in advance. Go Trump! (Mom and Dad still live in Reno, but they are Indy voters...Ross Perot?-LOL.

I recently went to the Getty Villa on the Malibu coastline in California, and wandered around looking at the antiquities of ancient Rome and Greece. Currently, the display features some very intricate mosaics, decorated vases, and several funereal portraits that would apparently decorate the mummies of the aristocratic dead. What struck me most is how detailed, beautiful, and lifelike were the renditions of humans and animals. The lions snarled, the snakes writhed, the warriors flexed, and the portraits of the dead, almost all of them tragically young, gazed with hope and eagerness, and bright expressive eyes. Western art has always...

New Hampshire is a tiny state with about 1.3 million people. California has eight counties with larger populations than that. But in presidential campaigns, size doesn't matter. Donald Trump and Barack Obama will be in New Hampshire on Monday. The 39 million residents of California can only watch from afar. In most political races, candidates spend the most time where they can reap the most votes. In presidential campaigns, however, they often seem to shun any place where large numbers of ballots are cast. California, Texas and New York are the most populous states. But from the number of candidates...

We can go down the list. And, basically, less educated or high school-educated whites are going to Trump. It doesn’t matter what the guy does. And college-educated, going to Clinton. I mean, everyone’s dividing based on demographic categories. And, sometimes, you get the sense that the campaign barely matters. People are just going with their gene pool and whatever it is. And that is one of the more depressing aspects of this race for me.” He added, “This is just a campaign of hate. And, you know, people who don’t like Trump really don’t like Trump. And I guess I’m...

"Hillary Clinton is the most wicked person on this planet!" America is on the brink of destruction, caused by decades of lies from our two political parties; the media’s filtering of news, and government corruption. The MSM has perpetuated the idea that our political system is a debate about Republican or Democrat policies, but this is wrong. Most of our leaders are Globalists who support Open Borders and Sanctuary cities. But the worst of the anti-American Globalists is Hillary Clinton, who has betrayed America and especially the military.

Simultaneous offensives on Raqqa and Mosul could bring to an end the self-styled caliphate declared by Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi from the pulpit of a Mosul mosque in 2014. Baghdadi, however, has told his followers there can be no retreat in a "total war" with their enemies, and the militants in Mosul have been waging a fierce and brutal defens "Sometimes they climb to the rooftops of houses where civilians are still living and they hold them hostage and open fire on our forces, because they know we will not use air strikes against targets that have civilians."...

A senior Al Qaeda leader and former Guantanamo detainee in Yemen has called for renewed attacks on the U.S. just days before Americans prepare to vote for a new president. “We pledge and vow to continue fighting America. Hitting, confronting and striking until it falls back behind the seas. None is upon us except by the will of Allah,” Ibrahim Al Qosi, a convicted Al Qaeda paymaster said in a speech entitled "15 years since the takeoff of the modern crusade." The Foreign Desk has obtained a transcript of Al Qosi's speech. Al Qosi advises followers to “concentrate your military...

Though the U.S. has no legal right to operate inside Syria, Official Washington is boasting about its plans to liberate Raqqa from ISIS. But another problem: the battle plan makes no sense ___ In her final debate with Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton promised that the United States and its allies would follow up the offensive against ISIS-occupied Mosul with an assault on ISIS headquarters in Raqqa in neighboring Syria. Last week, Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter assured the press that an offensive was on the way. “It starts in the next few weeks,” Carter said. “That has long been our...

Good democrats don’t vote for bad Democrats I understand a Democrat wanting to vote Democrat. I understand that the mainstream Democrat is considered sensitive, kind, caring, and compassionate. I understand they may believe the Democrat Party still stands for such ideals. I’m in New Mexico. It is replete with Democrats. I know lots of fine people who are Democrats.

In a speech delivered at the Vatican just three days before the U.S. presidential election, Pope Francis urged social justice activists from around the world not to give into the politics of fear by building walls but instead work to build bridges. “Because fear—as well as being a good deal for the merchants of arms and death—weakens and destabilizes us, destroys our psychological and spiritual defenses, numbs us to the suffering of others,” he said. “In the end,” he continued, “it makes us cruel.”

For many people, the automotive sector is a determinant of a country’s economic power. If you do not produce car brands that are known worldwide, then you mean nothing. France, once a global leader in car manufacturing, may soon fall out from the elite, as its contribution to the world’s automotive market is dramatically decreasing. It is one of the many signs how weak French economy has become with the euro adoption. A dying industry can be a spark that will set on fire the whole country; or the European Union. Industry is one of economy’s pillars and it has...

Perhaps marijuana legalization is on so many state ballots because caring and clairvoyant people understood how desperately Americans need a mind-altering substance to blur and numb the pain of this year’s presidential contest. By sheer numbers, marijuana tops this year’s list of The Top Five Issues on state ballots. 1. Marijuana (Nine States)Voters will decide whether to legalize marijuana for medical use in four states — Arkansas, Florida, Montana, North Dakota — and for recreational use in five more— Arizona, California, Maine, Massachusetts, Nevada. Those nine states contain more than 82 million people — constituting over 25 percent of the...

The Egyptian pound slid against the dollar on Sunday, the first full business day since Egypt took the unprecedented step of floating its currency and significantly hiking fuel prices. The bold double move met key demands set by the International Monetary Fund for a much-needed $12 billion loan to overhaul the ailing economy, but has also led to price increases on a number of goods, including food and transport. Banks were selling the U.S. currency at around 16 pounds while buying it at around 15.5. The Central Bank on Thursday devalued the pound by 48 percent, setting a holding exchange...

Obama said, if you’re an illegal alien and you vote, the federal government has no way to find you and it won’t even try to find you During a recent interview with Golden Globe-winning actress, Gina Rodriguez, Barack Hussein Obama appears to be telling illegal aliens that the federal government won’t track them or deport them if they vote in this year’s general election. Rodriguez and Obama appear to have artfully crafted an indirect message telling illegal aliens that they have nothing to fear if they go out and vote.

It was disappointing, but not surprising, to learn from the Indianapolis Business Journal (Oct. 10-16) that both John Gregg and Eric Holcomb endorse public-private partnerships (P3s). These candidates for governor are experienced in the ways of our Indiana government. Mr. Gregg has served at the highest level of the legislature while Mr. Holcomb is our Lt. Governor. P3s are agreements between governments (national, state, or local) with private companies to assume control, but not ownership, of public assets. Hoosiers know them in the form of the new bridge over the Ohio River, connecting the east end of Louisville with Clark...

Donald J. Trump is that hero, a hero right out of the pages of an Ayn Rand novel… and I’m going to make you see it. I can hear the scoffing protests now. “Donald Trump is base, abrasive, rough, and uncouth,” and so was Ellis Wyatt. “Donald Trump inherited his money;” so did Francisco d’Anconia. “Donald Trump attacks people;” so did Ragnar Danneskjöld. “Donald Trump only wants to make money and put his name on everything;” so did Hank Rearden. “Donald Trump just wants to blow things up;” so did Howard Roark. “Donald Trump is horrible to women;” actually, “horrible”...

How far would Obama go to hang onto the power of a third term in the Oval Office through the election of Hillary Clinton? America seems headed for a real life ‘Ruby Tuesday’ on November 8. The events of Friday and Saturday should be sending chills down the spines of average citizens IF, as U.S. Intelligence is warning, al Qaeda strikes with terrorist attacks in three states tomorrow and ISIS follows through on its threats to slaughters voters going to the polls on Tuesday.
