Michelle Obama has revealed her husband 'barely got his work done' and instead 'fooled around' during high school. The First Lady urged college pupils to work hard citing it was 'never too late' to do well as she opened up about Barack Obama's past in a candid interview. She also revealed she got better grades than the U.S. President. Speaking on The Real Daytime talk show, she said: 'Barack fooled around in high school. He's said it, he didn't take school seriously. 'He barely got his work done. He was a bum.' The President, who majored in political science, worked...

It's very simple. If a man has no moral center, if he has ambition but no faith, if he does not demonstrate humility or integrity, I will never vote for him for president. I don't care who he is, what he's done, what he says, or what positions he holds. None of that will matter when we are living under his tyranny, and tyranny is sure to follow when you give unspeakable power to a man who believes he is God. I'll put this another way: if you vote for a man who worships himself over God, you deserve the...

Being flagged by a background check is not uncommon, it happened nearly 91,000 times in 2014. And it isn't even dispositive of the fact that you can't buy a firearm. The FBI's own documents say that being flagged "indicates the prospective firearms transferee or another individual with a similar name and/or similar descriptive features was matched with either federally prohibiting criteria or state-prohibiting criteria." Now imagine the chaos that would ensue if the the alleged "terror" watch list was fed, uncritically, into this system, adding another 700K or so names, many of which are identical to thousands of other people....

Colorado Parks and Wildlife released video of officers assisting a bull moose whose antlers became tangled in the tops of a backyard swing. The department posted a video to Facebook showing the trapped moose swinging back and forth on the rope while trying to avoid the officers in a Summit County backyard. CPW said officers decided after several hours to subdue the moose with a Taser, as using tranquilizing drugs on a moose showing signs of stress could prove deadly for the animal. The Taser stunned the moose for long enough to allow officers to cut the rope and free...

A kindergartener in New Jersey discovered a green anole lizard in a package of salad greens that soon became her class mascot. The girl's mother, Sally Mabon, discovered the lizard unconscious and grey in a "cold coma" as she opened a refrigerated bag of tatsoi she bought from a local grocery store. The lizard was able to make a full recovery after receiving some warmth and moisture. Mabon then brought it in to science teacher Mark Eastburn, who believes the lizard survived due to an increased resistance to cold. "It probably has some moderate adaptation to the cold which is...

In 2011, Donald Trump was scheduled to moderate a debate on Newsmax TV. During the preparations for the debate Trump went on with Megyn Kelly and lamented that only two candidates had agreed to be in the Des Moines debate at the end of December, days before the Iowa Primary. .... Megyn Kelly asked Trump what his thoughts were on only two candidates confirming for his debate. He told Kelly, "we're not seeing a lot of courage here are we?" Trump continued, "not lots of courage, these Republicans are supposed to be brave."

Apple revenues increase 1.7% YoY On January 26, 2016, Apple (AAPL) announced its fiscal 1Q16 results. Its revenues of $75.9 billion were lower than analysts' estimates of $77 billion. But EPS (earnings per share) of $3.28 was better than the $3.25 that analysts were expecting.Apple's EPS grew from $3.06 in fiscal 1Q15 to $3.28 in fiscal 1Q16, mainly due to the aggressive share buyback program it's been following. Enlarge GraphEarnings beat analysts' estimate Apple's net income (or earnings) was $18.4 billion on revenues of $75.9 billion for fiscal 1Q16, beating consensus analyst estimates of $18.2 billion. Trump was able to keep this film from coming to light when it was filmed 25 years ago. It's not hard to see why he wanted it kept under wraps. It shows what an unprincipled, dishonest, cruel, opportunistic individual he is. This film will require an investment of your time (1 hour 20 minutes). That doesn't seem like an unreasonable amount of time to investigate someone who aspires to be the president of the United States. I even recommend that you view it twice (a few days apart) so that you will pick up on some of the things you...

he French justice minister has resigned, blaming a "major political disagreement" with her government. Christiane Taubira stepped down from her job shortly before anti-terrorism proposals that she disagreed with went before parliament. If passed, the laws would mean that people who are convicted of terrorism offenses are stripped of citizenship. The plans were put forward after the 13 November Paris attacks in which 130 people were murdered.

California's only large water district that publicly shames water wasters is admitting it messed up in some cases, mistakenly reporting jacked-up numbers for some of its customers. The Contra Costa Times was the first to report Wednesday that East Bay Municipal Utility District officials said they are re-examining the lists that contained more than 4,200 names of customers that the agency said violated its limit and were also made public. EBMUD acknowledged the mistake after the newspaper found the goof, and officials said it might take two weeks or more to determine exactly how many customers might not in fact...

Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity. This sound aphorism may have a less pithy political corollary: Never attribute to strategy what can be explained by emotion. Only this truth can help us understand why Republican officials have started saying they prefer Donald Trump to Senator Ted Cruz as their presidential nominee. Congressional Republicans would supposedly come out ahead with Trump because he would be a stronger nominee and a more cooperative president. These arguments are so weak that they can be understood only as rationalizations for a passionate hatred of Cruz felt by Republicans...

Jedediah Purdy, a professor at Duke Law School and occasional contributor to the Huffington Post, takes issue with liberal economist Paul Krugman's assessment of the Bernie Sanders campaign's operating theory of change as unrealistic and naive. Krugman writes, "The question Sanders supporters should ask is, When has their theory of change ever worked?" Purdy says it has: “To answer Krugman’s question: yes, it (Sanders theory of change) has worked. In fact, it may be the only theory of change that has ever made democracy real. It is politics for adults.â€But while he insists that quixotic insurgent campaigns based on ideological...

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa - Donald J. Trump and Fox News, the candidate who has reordered the Republican presidential race and the cable network of choice for many of the party's voters, stared each other down on Tuesday over his demand that the news anchor Megyn Kelly be dumped from moderating Thursday's debate, the last before Monday's caucuses. The network did not blink. So Mr. Trump walked. Mr. Trump's announcement here that he would "probably," or would "most likely," or was "pretty close to" irrevocably planning to skip the debate - an aide put it more directly - created a gaping uncertainty...

Topics : Texas Cellphone Theft Ronald Jackson DALLAS - A Texas father who was accused of theft after he confiscated his 12-year-old daughter's cellphone over an inappropriate text has been acquitted of the misdemeanor charge. A judge in Dallas found Ronald Jackson not guilty Tuesday, citing insufficient evidence. Grand Prairie police arrested Jackson a few hours after he commandeered his daughter's cellphone and refused to return it. The 36-year-old father says a text he found on the phone was rude. The girl's mother says she owns the cellphone and reported the confiscation as theft. Jackson posted $1,500 bail to get...

Those of us who obsessively observe the media never thought we would see a day like yesterday, a day when someone finally got the better of Fox News and Roger Ailes. The infallible network proved itself fallible with two of the biggest strategic errors in the history of its existence. First, The Mighty Fox fired off a snarky but strategically stupid press release that played directly into Donald Trump's hands. Then, an obviously rattled Megyn Kelly seeking solace from Trump's withering spotlight, sought that solace in no less than anti-American filmmaker Michael Moore.

As the war between Fox News and Donald Trump ratchets up, Roger Ailes is fighting off criticism from his senior executives over his handling of the crisis. According to one highly placed source, last night, Ailes sent out the now-famous statement mocking Trump as being scared to meet with the "Ayatollah" and "Putin" if he became president. "That was Roger 100 percent," the source explained. "A lot of people on the second floor" -- where top Fox executives work -- "didn't think it was a good idea." Fox executives are also troubled that Ailes's principal adviser right now is his...

COLUMBIA, SC Elmurray Billy Bookman was cutting hair at his barber station, the second chair from the door, when two masked men, one wielding a pistol and the other carrying a shotgun, entered Next Up Barber & Beauty, he said. Minutes later, Bookman and one of his customers drew their weapons as the robbers were taking money from customers and employees. They fired shots that left one of the suspects dead and sent another on the run just before 7 p.m. Friday. The kids were crying, hollering, and their parents were hollering, Bookman said. I think (the suspects) were getting...

When it comes to the never-ending quest to slim down, we’ve all heard about the success of the Atkins diet and eating Paleo. But one New York City chef used a far more revolutionary method to lose an astounding 94 pounds: the Pizza Diet. Naples, Italy, native Pasquale Cozzolino, 38, moved to New York in 2011 to work at Midtown’s PizzArte, and he quickly packed on the pounds. The 6-foot-6-inch chef weighed a healthy 254 pounds when he first got off the plane, but his waistline expanded as he made efforts to familiarize himself with the city’s restaurants and turned...
