DALLAS - A Texas father who was accused of theft after he confiscated his 12-year-old daughter's cellphone over an inappropriate text has been acquitted of the misdemeanor charge.
A judge in Dallas found Ronald Jackson not guilty Tuesday, citing insufficient evidence.
Grand Prairie police arrested Jackson a few hours after he commandeered his daughter's cellphone and refused to return it. The 36-year-old father says a text he found on the phone was rude.
The girl's mother says she owns the cellphone and reported the confiscation as theft.
Jackson posted $1,500 bail to get out of jail, but later received a mailed citation for theft. He refused to pay.

Way to set a good example, Mom. When your daughter grows up to be a complete, total b___tch and ends up divorced, at least she'll know how to make her Ex suffer.
My ex was a bitter bitch like that. She’s now a very lonely, miserable bitch all by herself, and I enjoy the company of all of my daughters on a regular basis.
Pity? Prosecutors have discretion to decline to prosecute POS cases like this.

Unbelievable, isn’t it? Or exactly why our country is in the mess its in.
This should have been a no brainer. A 12 year old kid, living in my house owns NOTHING.
All they have is technically mine, whether I gave it to them or not. They live for free and I pay for every morsel of food, degree of heat, gallon of water and stitch of clothing.

When told to help in the kitchen, one of our teen daughters said, “You only had us so you could have slaves.”
I responded, “You wanna see the slaves? It’s Mama and me. We do 90% of the work and pay 100% of the bills!”
Another time, I told the same girl, “Until you’re 18 the court’s on your side. After you’re 18, the court’s on our side. Better think about that.”
