Cologne and Bonn carnival organisers have begun handing out rules for refugees for next week's jollity - with warnings about women, alcohol and urinating in public. The cities are on edge after mass sexual assaults by immigrants against hundreds of women on New Year's Eve in Cologne. The number of complaints resulting from the frenzy in and around the main station now stands at over 820. Carnival is, if anything, even bigger than New Year in the Rhineland where cities like Bonn, Cologne and Dusseldorf go crazy in a week long celebration of parades, parties, dances and fetes.

Dog accidentally runs US half-marathon, finishes in an impressive seventh place by AllTheGoodNamesAreTaken2 · 2 days ago Early Saturday morning, Ludivine, a two-and-a-half-year-old hound dog, was let out of the house in Elkmont, Alabama, to do her business. Prone to roaming around town at will, Ludivine snuck out of the backyard and made her way to the starting area of the inaugural Trackless Train Trek Half Marathon about a quarter mile away. Ludivine proceeded to mingle with the runners, run the entire 13.1-mile course, cross the finish line in an unofficial 1:32:56, and have a medal draped over her...

Disaster struck when a machine gun went off without warning, hitting two crew members and shooting off the plane's right stabilizer. In a jaw-dropping display of valour and skill, Capt Rogers and Lt Gorse managed to control the stricken aircraft for two hours. They jettisoned their bombs in The Wash, off the UK's east coast, and allowed their seven crewmates to bail out safely. Once the last two had jumped through the bomb bay near King's Lynn, Rogers and Gorse continued to the North Sea. THE LIFE OF NORVILLE GORSE Born in 1924, he was the son of a Chicago...

Speaking on Good Morning America and Morning Joe this morning, Donald Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski hinted that other candidates were thinking of dropping out of the upcoming Fox News debate after Trump decided to bail. He asserted that anchor Megyn Kelly was "obsessed" with his boss, which was one reason why Trump decided not to participate. "Megyn Kelly is totally obsessed with Mr. Trump," Lewandowski said on Good Morning America. "She's done multiple shows on why he shouldn't be even involved in the race on television. She's completely obsessed with him. It's impossible to have a fair and honest...

In an appearance on Fox News Tuesday night, leading social conservative activist Tony Perkins endorsed Republican Texas Senator Ted Cruz for president, joining a growing list of prominent Evangelical and conservative leaders who have officially backed the staunch conservative candidate. The endorsement comes after Perkins, the president of the social conservative advocay group Family Research Council, was reported to have been a part of a meeting of as many as 50 national Evangelical leaders who gathered last December at a hotel in Tysons Corner, Virginia and voted to coalesce their support around Cruz. Isn’t it just so cute watching the Establishment’s suck up writers trying to make themselves appear relevant with their silly sophistry? They sit and stare at their keyboards for a while until they fool themselves enough to believe THEY have had a “Eureka!†moment and KNOW what must be said to stop Donald Trump once and for all. Since attacks on Trump have only made him stronger the new line of attack is directed toward those who are “too dumb†to understand that Trump is bad. A dimwit at the American Thinker compares a friend’s attraction to a man who...

No one else cares. Since the political class is still in a quandry over how Donald Trump keeps rolling even as he does things they are sure will bring about his end, let’s use tomorrow night’s Fox News debate as the perfect case in point. Trump is apparently going to skip the debate because of his antipathy toward Megyn Kelly, or hers toward him, or whatever. Upon learning this, the entire world of political people immediately went into overdrive analyzing the move. Is it shrewd? Does this present an opening for Cruz? Does he look like a baby? How will...

BLOOMFIELD, Iowa - James and Brooks Schooley are raising a young family in this tiny Iowa community. They support Ted Cruz and brought their kids to an old church near the Bloomfield town square to hear the candidate, along with Iowa Rep. Steve King and former Texas Gov. Rick Perry. The Schooleys like Cruz's faith and his fealty to the Constitution. But their choice is also shaped by their wariness of the Republican front-runner, Donald Trump. "He's not principled," James Schooley told me, referring to Trump. "He just goes by emotion." "I feel like he doesn't stick to the Constitution...

This should be interesting. One state after another have been pushing back on the new EPA carbon emission guidelines, with many of them refusing to file a plan for compliance until the courts have weighed in. Now some of the biggest energy producing states are trying to bring the situation to a head well in advance of the normal challenge and appeal process. Led by West Virginia and Texas, 26 states have filed a request directly with Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts asking him to step in and put the regulations on hold while the situation gets sorted...

Violence continues to plague Calais and nearby Dunkirk, with reports of beatings, murders and violent crime now emerging from the two towns almost daily. The picture emerging is of a lawless region, in which migrant on migrant attacks and clashes between migrants and locals are becoming commonplace as anarchist groups fan the flames. Two migrants were injured in a shooting in the Dunkirk migrant camp of Grande-Synthe on Tuesday afternoon in the most recent example of migrant-on-migrant violence. Locals reported hearing an "impressive" round of shooting in the area, la Voix du Nord reported. It comes just days after the...

Ever since Donald Trump's rise to 2016-contender prominence, the rap on him, and perhaps part of his broad appeal, has been that he's not a conservative. And he's not -- he's a nationalistic populist. Yet there's another way to understand The Donald's professed politics: as that of the first prominent "European-conservative" American presidential candidate. He's not so much America's next Ronald Reagan or Barry Goldwater, but her first Marine Le Pen. A prerequisite for grasping this is first understanding the true natures of liberalism and conservatism. While many have their own definitions of the latter -- and will stubbornly insist...

The Second Amendment is our only national gun law, and when it was written, they did not have a weapon of mass destruction - the AR-15, which can fire off hundreds of shots in the time a musket could only fire one. The Second Amendment only adds to our gun violence problems.

Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz said late Tuesday that Donald Trump's fear of defending his record is behind the GOP front-runner's boycott of the next Fox News GOP presidential debate."The reality is, the reason Donald is doing this — I actually don't think it's because of [Fox News host] Megyn [Kelly] at all," he said on Fox News's "Hannity." "I think it's because he's afraid to defend his record, that he knows he can't defend his record, and he's trying to hide from the voters of Iowa," Cruz said six days from the first voting state's caucuses next Monday. "He's...

Rupert Murdoch broke his three-day Twitter silence Wednesday morning to urge former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg to join the 2016 White House race amid an ongoing feud with Republican front-runner — and fellow New York billionaire — Donald Trump. "This is Bloomberg's last chance,†Murdoch tweeted. "You never know until your hat is in the ring!†"Events change everything,†the News Corp. boss added, cryptically, "especially during elections.†Murdoch’s Fox News is currently engaged in a rapidly escalating war of words with Trump, who has vowed to skip Thursday night’s Republican debate, which is being hosted by the...
