"You were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is given as a pledge of our inheritance" (Eph. 1:13-14). The Holy Spirit is God's first installment on your eternal inheritance. The Holy Spirit's ministry in your life is multifaceted and profound. Among other things He brings salvation, conviction, guidance, and strength. He indwells and equips you for spiritual service and gives assurance of your salvation. He is your Helper and Advocate. He is the Spirit of promise, who seals you until the day when your redemption is fully realized (Eph. 4:30). Sealing speaks of security, authenticity, ownership,...

GREELEY, Colo. (CBS4)– Colorado Congressman Ken Buck has thrown his support behind fellow Republican Ted Cruz for president. Buck, a Republican representing Northern Colorado, announced his endorsement on Wednesday. He will also serve as the Colorado chairman for Cruz’s campaign. “We need a strong, conservative leader in the White House,†said Buck in a statement. “Ted Cruz is that leader. He has consistently and passionately fought hard against the Washington establishment in order to restore the power back to the American people. We need Ted in 2016 in order to help restore America back to the principles that made this...

The key bit is where Cruz says of Trump, “look, there’s a difference. He’s advocated allowing folks to come back in and become citizens. I oppose that.†Trump has indeed said he’d let the “good†illegals come back in after they’ve been deported; lots of border hawks, me included, have flagged that as evidence that Trump’s not as opposed to forms of amnesty as he seems. Until now, though, none of the other top-tier candidates have had the guts to make that point against him. He can let Trump’s shots at his faith go because he has loads more credibility...

Islamic Imam Sami Abu-Yusuf of the Al Tawheed mosque in Cologne, Germany has made clear where the fault lay regarding the massive rape riot that rocked the western German city on New Year's Eve - the victims. As reported by the Breitbart London news service on 19 Jan. 2016, and also by Detroit News Time on 20 Jan. 2016, the Salafist holy man may be giving the anti-immigration groups more verbal ammunition. While hundreds more German women and girls muster up the courage to report to authorities the beatings, sexual assaults and flat-out rapings at the hands of a massive...

Scientists have been wondering whether a "Planet X" exists in the dim regions far beyond the known planets, but it has remained largely speculative.... That started to change in March 2014, when a pair of astronomers announced that they’d discovered a brand-new dwarf planet, 2012 VP113, beyond the well-populated edge of the Kuiper belt, whose main mass stretches from Neptune’s orbit around 30 astronomical units (or 30 times the Earth-Sun distance) out to 50 astronomical units. It wasn’t the only such object: Sedna, a 600-mile-wide rock discovered in 2003, also boasted this far-out orbit, and it seemed to be making...

No one wants to be audited, so knowing how long your tax return can be attacked is important. The statute of limitations on taxes is a fundamental rule allowing taxpayers to eventually cut off their exposure. It can be pretty satisfying to say to the IRS, “sorry, you’re too late.†But this year, that will be a little harder due to an expansion of the IRS’s power to audit for extra years. Traditionally, the primary IRS statute of limitations was three years. But there are many exceptions that give the IRS six years or longer. Several of those exceptions are...

Bob Dole, the former Kansas senator and 1996 Republican presidential nominee, has never been fond of Senator Ted Cruz of Texas. But in an interview Wednesday, Mr. Dole said that the party would suffer "cataclysmic" and "wholesale losses" if Mr. Cruz was the nominee, and that Donald J. Trump would fare better. "I question his allegiance to the party,†Mr. Dole said of Mr. Cruz. "I don't know how often you've heard him say the word ‘Republican’ — not very often." Instead, Mr. Cruz uses the word "conservative," Mr. Dole said, before offering up a different word for Mr. Cruz:...

I pray FR survives this election. Our forum has never been so divided. But even more so, I pray our divided nation survives. If traitor Hillary or communist Sanders is elected, it will be difficult to continue as a free nation without invoking certain clauses in the Declaration. Our constitution is certainly being put to the test.

Speaking at a rally today for Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin suggested that her son Track, who was arrested this week for a domestic violence incident, suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder. "I guess it's kind of an elephant in the room, because my own family -- going through what we're going through today," Palin said at the event in Oklahoma alluding to Track's arrest. "My son, a combat vet, having served in a Stryker Brigade for you all, America in the war zone; but my son, like so many others, they came back a bit...

Six months ago I wrote about Tu B'Av, a Yom Tov that brings hope after the terrible events of Tisha B'Av. There is something about the fifteenth day of the Jewish month that relates to redemption. The first day of Pesach and the first day of Sukkos, as well as Tu B'Shevat and Shushan Purim, all occur on the fifteenth of the month. As we approach Tu B'Shevat, an appropriate question would be: Why is the fifteenth so special that momentous days of redemption consistently fall upon that day? What sets it apart from all the other days of the...

Vote comes despite latest terrorism-related arrestsBrushing aside new fears over terrorists exploiting the refugee program, Senate Democrats on Wednesday successfully defended President Obama’s call to accept 10,000 Syrian refugees this year, saying the U.S. has an obligation to help the weak and needy. Republicans had hoped to impose new security checks on the program by requiring Mr. Obama’s FBI, Homeland Security and intelligence chiefs to certify every refugee, saying those security officials needed to be on record if the country was going to expand its program. But Democrats filibustered the plan, leaving Republicans five votes shy of the 60 needed...

Rapists and and sexual predators from North Africa are trembling with fear as European men put on mini skirts and march in "solidarity", promoting "tolerance" and fight against "sexism". Bin Laden said in 2001 that "When people see a strong horse and a weak horse, by nature, they will like the strong horseâ€. With testosterone this low, you really cannot blame Western women for choosing masculine, battle-scarred and truly intolerant migrants over these weaklings...

The United Methodist Church has rejected an Intelligent Design group's request to have an information table at the denomination's 2016 General Conference. Reaffirming a decision from December, the UMC's Commission on the General Conference decided last week to not allow the Seattle-based Discovery Institute an information table at the Mainline Protestant denomination's gathering in Portland, Oregon. Diane Degnan, spokeswoman for the UMC, told The Christian Post that this was the first General Conference to allow for "outside exhibitors." "The Commission on the General Conference determined that the application by the Discovery Institute did not meet the guidelines established for exhibitors...
