President Obama will not endorse a Democratic candidate in the 2016 presidential primary race, White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough said Sunday. "That's not our job," McDonough said on NBC's Meet the Press. "That's the job of the party to make those decisions and then they'll take a look at the agendas and the positions of those candidates." McDonough said that Obama, in the final 11 months of his presidency, will wait until voters pick a nominee, as he has in the past. ...

Last week’s shooting of a Philadelphia police officer by a crazed gunman, acting in the name of Islam, shed more spotlight on the worldwide threat of Islamic terrorism and the continued denial of the threat by liberals. Edward Archer, a 30 year old Muslim, said he acted in the name of Islam, when he fired eleven shots at Philadelphia Police Officer, Jesse Hartnett, who miraculously survived the attack. Homicide Captain James Clark, confirmed the fact that Archer said he acted in the name of Islam. Yet, in another press conference, Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney said in reference to the shooting,...

In an exclusive hour-long sit down interview with Breitbart News, 91-year-old conservative icon and living legend Phyllis Schlafly declared that Donald Trump "is the only hope to defeat the Kingmakers," and detailed why she believes Trump alone will return the government to the people. She warned that if immigration is not stopped: "we're not going to be America anymore." Schlafly, born in St. Louis, Missouri in 1924, has been active in politics for more than one-quarter of all American history. She helped launch the conservative movement, create the pro-family agenda, and has led the fight against open borders trade and...

Donald Trump exemplifies one of the strange and lamentable dynamics in democratic discourse: People tend to have the strongest opinions on those things about which they have the least knowledge. Herr Apfelstrudelfuhrer imagines himself issuing decrees that presidents have no power to issue, and he doesn't seem to understand that illegal immigration -- his headline issue -- isn't in the main driven by people walking across the Mexican border. He doesn't seem to understand how laws are made or how government money is appropriated. He has, to say the least, a lot to learn. Now he wants to launch a...

January 13 is the last day for business and individual users to move off older versions of the Internet Explorer web browser, before Microsoft pulls the plug on support including security patches. The deadline this week comes 18 months after Microsoft warned that it would cease to support Internet Explorer 8, 9 and 10, giving users time to upgrade. Microsoft suggests users upgrade to Internet Explorer 11 on Windows 7 and 8.1, or use the new Edge browser if they're on Windows 10. Edge is able to launch Internet Explorer 11 when needed, for backwards compatibility.

Among the country's better pundits, it's an annual tradition to break out the figurative cat-'o'-nine-tails and indulge in a little ceremonial self-flagellation. For readers, there's sometimes little more satisfying than watching prognosticators and opinion-mongers publicly confess their sins of analysis. So this year, some of the braver ones have copped to underestimating Donald Trump - not just as a media magnet, but as a bona fide political force in the race for the Republican nomination. You won't be getting that from me. And Ted Cruz is the reason why. We'll get to why in a moment. First, as a separate...

Braving a funding ban put in place by America’s top health agency, some U.S. research centers are moving ahead with attempts to grow human tissue inside pigs and sheep with the goal of creating hearts, livers, or other organs needed for transplants. The effort to incubate organs in farm animals is ethically charged because it involves adding human cells to animal embryos in ways that could blur the line between species. Last September, in a reversal of earlier policy, the National Institutes of Health announced it would not support studies involving such “human-animal chimeras†until it had reviewed the scientific...

Republican politicians have restarted their push to stop Syrian refugees from entering the United States after the FBI announced on Thursday that it had arrested two Iraqi refugees on charges of providing material support to ISIS. "The arrests of these men present a stark warning about the deficiencies of our programs for accepting refugees from Iraq and Syria," Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.), the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, said in a statement on Friday. "Continuing these programs in their current form poses unacceptable risks to our national security that are growing more acute by the day." The House passed...

The commander of the Navy's Carrier Strike Group 15 based in San Diego was relieved of his duties Friday, the Navy said in a release on Saturday. Rear Adm. Rick Williams was removed from his position due to a loss of confidence in his ability to command, the release said. The Navy's Third Fleet Commander Vice Adm. Nora Tyson relieved Williams based on the results of an investigation into allegations of misuse of government computer equipment. Williams took command of Carrier Strike Group 15 in July 2015. He has been administratively reassigned, the release said, to the staff of Commander,...

PASO ROBLES, Calif. (AP) — A pregnant California woman has filed a claim saying she found a bloody fingertip in a salad at an Applebee's restaurant in Paso Robles. Cathleen Martin of Atascadero tells The Tribune (http://bit.ly/1S8TXpx) in San Luis Obispo that she was with her husband and child at the restaurant in December and everyone ate from her Chinese chicken salad. Attorney Eric Traut of Santa Ana says the manager confirmed the fingertip belonged to a cook.

In 2015 Apple grabbed a 94 percent share of the world's global smartphone profits, sold the only profitable tablets and smartwatch, increased its Mac unit sales,, launched a successful NFC payment platform, took a huge slice of the music streaming market and introduced a new platform for the living room. How can it possibly beat that performance in 2016? That's the premise set out by clickbait legend Jay Yarow of Business Insider, who penned a compendium of worries of potential scenarios of doom for the world's largest and most successful tech company, bravely entitled "Apple is going to have a...

Planned Parenthood announced its endorsement of Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton. The endorsement is the first in the largest abortion provider's roughly 100-year-long existence. In a statement released by Planned Parenthood Action Fund, the group labeled Clinton the "best presidential candidate for reproductive rights, hands down." "Hillary Clinton holds the strongest record on reproductive rights of all presidential contenders in not just this election, but in American history. She doesn't just support women's health — she has been a proactive leader on expanding access to women's health care," stated PPFA. We live in an era where access to birth control,...

While Donald Trump won't be the GOP nominee, reclaiming the party from Trump still requires that we contemplate what a Trump nomination and even possibly a Trump presidency would look like. The picture isn't a pretty one. One of the under appreciated aspects is how any electoral success by Trump in the primaries and potentially the general election could spawn a bonanza for the GOP's much-despised consultant class, at the expense of the party's ability to field principled and/or successful statewide and national candidates. The reason for this is fairly straightforward: Trump is the avatar of the clueless-rich-guy style of...

Destroying religious statues and icons is a righteous act under Islam. “Churches vandalised and statue of the Virgin Mary beheaded in ‘extremist’ attacks,†By Chris Riches, Express, Jan 8, 2016: DETECTIVES are hunting vandals who targeted two churches, beheading statues of Joseph and the Virgin Mary. Twelve window panes at historic St Chad’s Church in the Lancashire town of Poulton-le-Fylde were smashed last week, just two months after they were repaired. The vandals then turned on the church’s outdoor Nativity scene, decapitating a statue of the Virgin Mary and stealing the head. Within 24 hours, churchgoers at Poulton Methodist Church...

OTTUMWA -- Two of Wapello County's largest indoor events happened on the same day -- and in the same place. "That's one of the biggest days in our history," confirmed Scott Hallgren, executive director at Bridge View Center. Though numbers varied by source, his counter clicked nearly 2,100 for the appearance of Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump on Saturday afternoon. Ticket sales for the evening's '80s tribute band Hairball approached 2,400. "So we are looking at about 4,500 through our doors today," Hallgren said. Visitors to the campaign stop at 1 p.m. may not have been giving much thought to...
