Nice list of amendments. There is one missing: congressional term limits.
Make it the big 10.
The states really really need to take back their power
Finally, we have some leadership and representation in Texas.
Article V ping. A video on Texas Gov. Abbott’s plan.
Not just congressional term limits - two terms in *any* elected office period, then you’re done and you can’t run for re-election again.
Optional: And after you’re out, your office is audited.
In my view, the Texas Plan can tabled at the Article V Convention to be considered along with the Liberty Amendments and any others designed to rein in the Federal Government.
Also, it is quite possible that further amendments could be added to the Texas Plan as it is debated in the Texas Legislature, such as term limits and repeal of 17th Amendment.
I will definitely plan on listening to Governor Abbott when he talks with Mark Levin.
Thank you for the ping.
Governor Abbott seems to understand the problem.
The video is 39 minutes long.
The Governor starts talking about an Artice V conventon of States at about 16:30.
May I suggest adding the one thing the founders overlooked?
How to peacefully dissolve the Union.
At 29:55 in the video:
How many votes does it take to amend the Constitution?
2/3rds?
Wrong answer.
It takes only 5 votes from the men in back robes to amend the Constitution.
as an expansion of your thought: neither can their children run for office. I have had enough of quasi-dynastic political families: Kennedy’s; Bush’s; etc.
IMO
Yes, and it’s time to repeal the 17th amendment...to have our Senators appointed by state legislatures.
Add
Repeal the 17th.
Repeal the Commerce clause entirely. This power was needed in the infancy of our country but today serves no valid purpose except to allow an avenue for systemic abuse.
