If you're someone who wants to lessen the dominance of concentrated wealth over our political system, end the revolving door between Wall Street and Washington, significantly reduce income inequality and avoid foolish wars, do not be deceived that Hillary Clinton is your ally. Moreover, if the Democrats anoint Hillary as their nominee, there is a significant danger that public disgust at her soft corruption, and lack of trust in the veracity of her campaign pledges, could lead to a Republican becoming the next President. For their entire political careers, the Clintons have been servants of the oligarchy. Since President Clinton...

Democratic front-runner sees those with negative view jump to 42%; Bush draws most support on GOP side Hillary Clinton’s stature has been battered after more than a month of controversy over her fundraising and email practices, but support for her among Democrats remains strong and unshaken, a new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll finds. In just seven weeks, a period in which Mrs. Clinton formally began her presidential campaign, the share of people with a negative view of her jumped to 42% from 36% in last month’s survey, and only a quarter of registered voters said they viewed her as...
  • Cruz roundup: Little love from Glenn Beck, straw poll sweep, few answers on Jade Helm 15

Glenn Beck likes Sen. Ted Cruz’s devotion conservatism, but not much else. The conservative radio host called Cruz “a bulldog” Monday, but implied the senator couldn’t lead the nation. “We are looking at unbelievable times ahead of us,” Beck said. “And I would say on this, I’m not sure [Cruz] could get the coalition together. He’ll be a bulldog and he’ll stand for principles but I’m not sure that he could govern. I’m not sure yet.” Later, Beck attempted to clarify his remarks and blamed the media for taking his comments out of context. He said he equated governing with...

An Ohio prison escapee on the run since the Eisenhower administration has finally been caught, Florida officials said. Frank Freshwater, 79, escaped an Ohio prison in 1959 and was caught Monday at a home in Melbourne, Florida, the Brevard County Sheriff's Office said. Freshwater, who was doing time for a probation violation related to a manslaughter conviction, was living under an alias and had worked as a truck driver. Freshwater was initially jailed at the Ohio State Reformatory, where "The Shawshank Redemption" was filmed. He was moved to a prison work farm shortly into his 20-year sentence. He took off...

Any prosecutor interested in the truth and in justice would have used all the tools at her disposal to find them. Ms. Mosby ignored them. She has one of the most experienced homicide prosecutors in the state of Maryland as chief of her homicide unit, but did not ask him to investigate. She had the police report all of one day before filing charges, her mind already made up. And she failed to make use of the grand jury to gather, probe and test the evidence before a group of average citizens. In fact, Ms. Mosby was so hasty it...

Director Joss Whedon has deleted his Twitter account, following criticism of his latest film, Age of Ultron. Its portrayal of female characters such as assassin Black Widow by Scarlett Johannsson had been called sexist. Comic-book fans had also criticised Marvel's Avengers superhero film's plot, on the social network. Immediately prior to deleting his account, Whedon tweeted: "Thank you to all the people who've been so kind and funny and inspiring up in here".

Ablow, a psychiatrist, declared Tuesday on "Outnumbered" that a man should have the right to compel his female partner to take a pregnancy to term if he's willing to take full responsibility for their child after he or she is born. The comment came during a discussion of a dispute between wealthy businessman Nick Loeb and his former partner, "Modern Family" star Sofía Vergara, over their frozen embryos. Loeb claimed in a vindictive New York Times op-ed that Vergara was blocking him from taking full custody of two of those embryos he wished to bring to term. "Why would a...

Gov. Rick Scott issues executive order to look at hospitals' books TALLAHASSEE – Gov. Rick Scott issued an executive order Tuesday calling for a panel to look at the finances, political contributions, lobbying efforts and quality and cost of care provided at hospitals funded with taxpayer money. The Commission on Healthcare and Hospital Funding will consist of members appointed entirely by Scott. The move comes after a stalemate between the House and the Senate over healthcare spending led to the end of the legislative session last week without any of his priorities accomplished. If you try to shut down public debate, is this a way of ensuring that you win—or an admission that you have already lost? The question seems relevant today, because the most remarkable characteristic of our current national debate is that one side wants desperately to stamp it out whenever it occurs. Recently, for example, a gay New York businessman had the temerity to sponsor a “fireside chat” with Republican presidential candidate and arch-conservative Ted Cruz. He was, of course, required to repent the error, calling it “a terrible mistake” to actually talk to a politician who disagrees with him...

To All Innocent Fifth Columnists Ayn Rand - 1941 You who read this represent the greatest danger to America. No matter what the outcome of the war in Europe may be, Totalitarianism has already won a complete victory in many American minds and conquered all of our intellectual life. You have helped it to win. Perhaps it is your right to destroy civilization and bring dictatorship to America, but not unless you understand fully what you are doing. If that is what you want to do, say so openly, at least to your own conscience, and we who believe in...

..liberating US troops took revenge by executing dozens of German guards American soldiers executed dozens of German guards at the Dachau WWII concentration camp after screaming: 'Let's get those Nazi dogs!' The US troops opened fire on 50 members of the SS and the Wehrmacht with a machine gun after lining them up and saying: 'Take no prisoners!' One commander shot dead four other Germans and became so hysterical that his own colonel had to hit him with the butt of his gun to stop him battering a fifth. According to a new book, the Americans took revenge because they...

The United States is edging towards an historic agreement to swap crude oil with Mexico. The deal is important as it brings some relief to US producers struggling with a light oil glut at home and for Mexican national oil company, Pemex, which is hoping to mix the lighter crude coming out of US shale fields with its heavier blend. However, the arrangement is not just about the relationship between the US and Mexico. It’s also about broader North American energy integration. And critically, many experts see the deal as another crack in the US crude oil export ban. The...

"We can't be cowed by this because once this goes, once free speech goes, it's over," Bosch Fawstin said during an interview with Fox News' Greta Van Susteren. "I've been drawing Muhammed for years and I heard about the contest and I took it upon myself to take part in it. I think it's an important thing. It's about freedom of speech, which is deadly important, especially...

Tucked away among the tilled plots and scrubby pastures of this rural town, the Seattle Mariners’ baseball academy is mostly abandoned. The weight room has been cleared of machines. The numbered locker-room stalls are bare. One afternoon last week, a grounds crew pulled out bases from the main field while workers packed away a few stray trophies, bats and uniforms. But the teenage prospects who shared bunks here just three weeks ago are gone, shipped off to a newer school in the Dominican Republic.

Wells Fargo is accused of opening up accounts and credit cards in customers' names without their authorization. The complaint charges that bank employees opened new accounts for existing customers without their authorization, in order to meet sales quotas. The employees also allegedly transferred money from customers' authorized accounts to pay fees on the unauthorized accounts. When fees on unauthorized accounts went unpaid, some customers were placed into collection. Others had negative information placed on their credit reports as a result.

Tuesday on Fox News Channel’s “America’s Newsroom,” one of the organizer of the Texas at a draw Mohammed event that was attacked by two ISIS linked gunmen, Pamela Geller, got into a battle with host Martha MacCallum over the controversial event. MacCallum brought up criticisms that Geller is “taunting” Islamic extremists and said, “You have got and lot of criticism obviously. You are also getting it from some conservatives. Bill Donahue and Donald Trump speak out against what you do.” Geller shot back, “As far as Mr. Trump goes he flaps his tongue and uses free speech to silence others....

You cannot take any people, of any color, and exempt them from the requirements of civilization — including work, behavioral standards, personal responsibility and all the other basic things that the clever intelligentsia disdain — without ruinous consequences to them and to society at large.
