Any prosecutor interested in the truth and in justice would have used all the tools at her disposal to find them. Ms. Mosby ignored them. She has one of the most experienced homicide prosecutors in the state of Maryland as chief of her homicide unit, but did not ask him to investigate. She had the police report all of one day before filing charges, her mind already made up. And she failed to make use of the grand jury to gather, probe and test the evidence before a group of average citizens.
In fact, Ms. Mosby was so hasty it appears she locked up two completely innocent officers. She charged Freddie Grays arresting officers with false imprisonment because she said the knife that Gray had on him was legal. In fact, as The Sun reported, the Police Task Force found it to be illegal after all. It was Ms. Mosby who had no probable cause to lock the arresting officers up, an injustice she could have easily avoided by taking her time.

In the long run, Ms. Mosby may be undermining the cause of justice rather than promoting it. She has created an expectation of guilt and conviction. If that does not happen, many will blame the system as unfair or unjust, when it may have been Ms. Mosby's own lack of competence and/or arrogance in bringing charges so quickly.

i feel she charged them to settle down the restless natives knowing it wouldn’t fly and will deal with the repercussions later.

She is a child and probably an EEO hire.
I would not want my grandchild doing work on such weighty matters.
It reminds me of Dallas ISD’s HR director. A child and definitely and EEO hire — DISD is being sued as a result and this one will be also.
Marilyn Mosby is just as qualified to be District Attorney as Barack Obama is to be president of the USA.
The six officers will go to trial...
Three white officers and three black officers...
There will be three convictions and three acquittals...
If given a fair trial and a fair jury, I predict all six will be found not guilty and Baltimore will riot again.
I also think there is a good chance a lot (if not all of them) of the charges will be dismissed before the case goes to court.
The problem with the knife charge is that this was not the reason why the police chased after Gray. It was only found during the search of his person that took place after he’d been arrested.
Meaning that the knife (legal or not) did not constitute probable cause for the arrest.
Sorry, but I utterly oppose the notion of cops arresting people and then justifying their actions after the fact. Such a thing is an invitation to mischief.
She’s another incompetent community organizer ACORN parasite.
Spit.
First time I heard her speak, my first thought was exactly that. I thought to myself, "She sounds like a 22 year old paralegal."
Not that there is anything wrong, if one is a 22 year old paralegal.
But, when one is 35 years old and in a public office of such import, one expects some maturity and gravitas.
... and inflamitory at the least !
"Room to protest" is one thing, but allowing "room to riot" is antoher (and criminal)
I still call it "Malfeasance of Office" , and criminally and civillaly liability for monetary lawsuit.
The cops were sacrificed on the altar of political correctness. The Black cops were thrown in so as to deflect charges of racial unfairness.
Let’s hope so...
Prosecutors have too much leeway and are rarely subject to accountability actions.
Police only have to believe the knife was illegal. The job of determining if it was legal or not rests with a jury.
Yep, the color of her skin is all the qualifications she needed.
I’d say that DA just auditioned for the Justice Department.
“Marilyn Mosby is just as qualified to be District Attorney as Barack Obama is to be president of the USA.”
So she doesn’t have a birth certificate either?
