Twitchy yesterday reported on a lawsuit filed against Columbia University by Paul Nungesser, a student who claims the school has sided with the woman who accused him of rape, even though both school and law enforcement authorities rejected the case after interviews and investigation. Since then, Columbia student Emma Sulkowicz has gained publicity in 35 countries by carrying a mattress with her wherever she goes on campus — an art project approved for college credit by visual arts professor Jon Kessler, who referred to the mattress in the Columbia Spectator as the site of Sulkowicz’ rape.Whether the lawsuit determines if this is an example of a...

A professor at Texas A&M Galveston failed an entire class, and he outlined his reasons in a fiery email sent to those students. But the university won't quite be backing up the professor's actions. In the email professor Irwin Horwitz sent to his students, he called them a disgrace to the school. He said he will no longer be teaching the course and will be giving everyone in the class a failing grade. "Enough was enough," Horwitz said. After what he calls a semester of disrespect, backstabbing, lying, and cheating, Horwitz had all he could take. "Yesterday I reached the...

Not a single 11th grade student showed up to take the SBAC test at Nathan Hale High School this week, a Seattle Public Schools spokesperson confirmed. The news that 100% of the 11th graders opted out of the test was first reported on an education blog. State Superintendent Randy Dorn released a statement Friday on the potential "fallout" from students opting out of testing. Dorn said there could be academic and financial consequences for the state of Washington if students don't take the SBAC. "No test is perfect. But the Smarter Balanced tests, with their emphasis on real-world skills, are...

(CNN)The FBI is investigating a possible ISIS-inspired terrorist threat in the United States, law enforcement officials said Saturday. The investigation originated from intercepted chatter and other intelligence information that led officials to believe a possible plot could be in the works, the officials said. No arrests have been made. It's not clear whether the threat is real or aspirational. The exact nature of the threat couldn't be learned. One official said it focused on parts of California where officials stepped up security, a U.S. official said.

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- The family of the convicted marathon bomber is in America, on your tax dollars, and survivors are outraged after learning the news. As of Thursday, family members of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev have been staying at the Hampton Inn in Revere under very tight security, just one of the things tax dollars are paying for. FOX25's Sharman Sacchetti investigated how much this trip is costing you. Sources say these family members are being called as witnesses and not only that, at least three agencies are working around the clock to protect and transport them. This is all part of...

According to Wiki, “cultural appropriation is the adoption of an oppressed people's cultural elements by members of the dominant culture, or by members of any culture that has historically oppressed the peoples of the originating culture. Appropriation may eventually lead to the appropriating group being seen as the new face of said cultural practices. As oppressed peoples' cultures are mimicked by the dominant culture, observers may begin to falsely associate certain cultural practices with the mimicker, and not with the people who originated them. This is often seen in the use by cultural outsiders of a minority, oppressed culture's symbols...

Urbandale, Iowa (CNN)Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker hit back Saturday at potential GOP presidential rival Marco Rubio over the Florida senator's charge that there's "no way" a governor can be ready for president when it comes to foreign policy. "I think he's questioning how Ronald Reagan was ready," the Wisconsin Republican told reporters after speaking at an event for Iowa Rep. David Young in Urbandale. Walker argued that, in his lifetime, Reagan "was the most impactful" president on foreign policy, while President Barack Obama "shows as a first-term senator, (he) isn't prepared to lead, or at least is not in the...

A group of zealous supporters of Sen. Ted Cruz’ (R-TX) 2016 presidential run is planning to launch a ‘Ted Cruz Air Force’ (TCAF) in the coming months prior to the Republican primaries that begin in less than a year. According to TCAF, “Ted Cruz clearly has the support of the grassroots. He will also have air support.” TCAF says its most prominent air feature will be the “Ted Cruz Blimp,” but it also plans on recruiting “antique aircraft, towed aerial banners, light sport aircraft … [and] parachutes.” Member of TCAF Jerry Collette says he’s going to do everything he can...

Washington (CNN)Rep. Mike Honda this week became one of the first lawmakers in Congress to support the idea of a gender spectrum and publicly announce a family member, his granddaughter, is transgender. The California Democrat urged acceptance of transgender individuals in a profile of his 8-year-old granddaughter Malisa, who was born a boy, in the San Jose Mercury News. READ: House Dems press Boehner to postpone Netanyahu speech People may say, "It's just a phase or they'll grow out of it," Honda told the paper. "But we have to be a little bit more in tune with what youngsters are...

Welcome to the Garden State. Just leave your guns at the border, please. Local news outlets are reporting on a court case which has recently come to a close wherein a citizen, identified only as Z.L., had applied for a gun permit in 2013. Keep in mind that this is not a permit to carry… just to be able to purchase and own a gun. He was turned down because the background investigation revealed that he had been arrested on a domestic violence charge fifteen years earlier. But he was aquitted on the charge, so we should be able to...

One of the more contentious ideas to recently emerge from the culture war is that of "safe spaces." We are said to be at risk of social dangers. Sometimes these dangers are labeled denialism (in which someone's identity isn't recognized) or triggering speech (speech that sets off traumatic responses in unwitting listeners). The way some students at elite colleges combat these social dangers is to create, or demand the creation of, safe spaces. And just as often, students demand that their entire campus become a safe space. Hence the wrong kind of speech is re-labeled as violence. The space only...

After a hard fought and long awaited result, your NRA-ILA is pleased to report that House Bill 995’s conference committee majority report was signed into law this morning. ~snip~ The report removed the ability for municipalities to opt-out of park carry, thus removing a patchwork of laws throughout the state of Tennessee that could turn law-abiding Tennesseans with handgun carry permits into unintentional criminals.

There's nothing that I could write which isn't better explained by Larry's own words in the video. But everybody, and I mean everybody, should be talking about this interview with Larry King. It is the most revealing slip-up into the mindset of liberal journalists, and the perversion of media that I've ever seen. And he doesn't even realize it...

The two Michigan women lost in the wilderness for almost 2 weeks survived on Girl Scout cookies and cheese puffs, police say. Leslie Roy, 52, and her sister Lee Marie Wright, 56, were on vacation in a remote part of Michigan when they became stranded by heavy snow on April 11. According to police, the two women rationed food and gas as they tried to stay warm in their SUV. "They survived on eight boxes of girl scout cookies, a bag of cheese puffs," Detective Sgt. Jeff Marker of the Michigan State Police told ABC News.

I recently discussed what it would take to prove that global warming is actually occurring, that it is caused by humans, and that it will be catastrophic. But that’s not the full picture. To understand why so many of us are so skeptical about global warming, you have to understand the environmentalists’ larger track record: a long series of failed predictions and bogus prognostications of doom. It has been 45 years now since the first Earth Day. You would think that in this time frame, given the urgency with which we were told we had to confront the supposed...

Betty McCray, newly-elected mayor of Kinloch, Missouri, showed up at City Hall this week to get to work. But when she arrived, the police wouldn’t let her in the door. The reason why? Those non-existent illegal voters who cast ballots for the candidate. The election, which was held April 7, was hotly contested and the results have been questioned by McCray’s opponents. However, the St. Louis County Board of Elections certified the results and swore McCray in after city officials refused to. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that deputies met her in the parking lot, and she was served with articles of impeachment by...
