The Egyptian government should consider a military solution for the unrest in Libya, Amr Moussa said in a statement issued Sunday. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Wednesday ramped up its response to the expanding Ebola outbreak, a move that frees up hundreds of employees and signals the agency sees the health emergency as a potentially long and serious one. The CDC’s “level 1 activation” is reserved for the most serious public health emergencies, and the agency said the move was appropriate considering the outbreak’s “potential to affect many lives.” The CDC took a similar move in 2005 in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, and again in 2009 during the bird-flu threat.

Relatives of a popular North Carolina school counselor are heartbroken about her murder -- and relieved that a suspect is behind bars. Maggie Daniels, 31, was found dead in her apartment June 28. She was four days away from obtaining her master’s degree. The death remained a mystery for more than a month. Daniels’ relatives hoped that justice would be served. Wagoner County teacher Lorie Hill arrested for public intoxication; found without pants WAGONER COUNTY, OKLA. - A Wagoner teacher was discovered intoxicated and with her pants down inside a Green Country school, according to police. A spokesperson for the Wagoner Police Department says Lorie Hill was arrested for public intoxication Monday. She was found at Wagoner High School in an empty classroom. Teachers reported Aug. 4, but students do not return until Aug. 7. Hall was recently hired as a teacher for the Wagoner Public Schools. Police say they did find an empty cup in her car.
