When our readers tell us they want more of something — in this case, stories about cats because who can ever get enough of those? — we listen. And we want that same listening spirit to extend to whoever might be able to set up a service that brings kittens to your door for some playtime and cuddly cat times in every town across this great country we call home.As I type these words and you read them, there’s a magical event underway in Seattle, New York and San Francisco: To celebrate National Cat Day, car service Uber has teamed...

If you look at the landscape sets they appear to be approved plans state by state. You can click the magnifying glass and enter your state and see approved plans. Here's my questions; What is the difference between the SHOP list and the individual list for dental and medical? If HC providers are dropping unapproved individual plans for 2014 will they drop unapproved HC employer group plans too? If so when? Same questions for dental plans.

Individuals seeking employment with the Target Corporation will soon notice a change in the company’s job applications. The Minneapolis-based company recently announced that they will no longer question applicants about their criminal history. The company said it expects to remove the question from applications nationwide in the coming year. According to the National Employment Law Project, the decision was based on a new Minnesota law and the efforts of grassroots organizations that have been pressuring the company to change their standards. “Target is finally doing the right thing by reforming its hiring policies so that qualified job applicants aren’t automatically...

Israel has established a clear-cut red line when it comes to preventing the transfer of advanced arms from Syria to Hezbollah. And unlike the Obama administration, Israel means what it says. Israel has conducted military strikes to destroy advanced Iranian and Russian weapons in the Syrian regime’s hands before they could be added to Hezbollah’s growing stockpile of offensive arms aimed at Israeli population centers or used to thwart Israeli defense systems. Instead of providing covert support for Israeli operations, or at least staying out of Israel’s way, the Obama administration is deliberately compromising Israel’s security by leaking sensitive information...

- FrontPage Magazine - http://frontpagemag.com - How Obama Abandoned IraqPosted By Arnold Ahlert On November 4, 2013 @ 12:43 am In Daily Mailer,FrontPage | 4 Comments President Obama’s facility for lying has taken center stage once again, as Americans grapple with the reality that they in fact can’t keep their health insurance if they like it. Yet while they remain focused on that debacle, another series of declarations made by the president, namely that al Qaeda was “on the run†and near “defeat,†is looking equally deceitful. Last Friday, Obama and Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki met in an effort to deal with what is...

As Egypt’s new military-led government consolidates its power, Mohamed Morsi, the deposed president, went on trial on Monday, facing charges of inciting the murder of protesters, but he rejected the court’s authority and proclaimed himself to be the country’s legitimate ruler. According to the website of Al Ahram, Egypt’s flagship state newspaper, the trial got under way as Mr. Morsi and 14 other Islamist defendants appeared in a caged dock and court officials called out their names. But news reports said the hearing was first delayed and then suspended after Mr. Morsi refused to dress in prison clothing and chants...

Ben Sasse is an underdog as a U.S. Senate candidate...It wasn’t surprising a few months ago when he showed up as an asterisk in our poll of the open-seat Nebraska Senate race. But he has since earned our attention – and everyone else’s...

The autopsy of an unarmed man killed by a Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer in September shows he had 10 bullet wounds, including five that were fatal. The report released Friday also revealed no illegal drugs in Jonathon Ferrell’s system. The 24-year-old had a blood-alcohol content of 0.06, which is within the legal limit of 0.08 for driving, the autopsy results also show. He also had traces of nicotine and caffeine. On the night of Sept. 14, Ferrell wrecked his car on Reedy Creek Road in northeast Charlotte and then banged on the door of a nearby house. The woman inside the...

President Obama has been this generation's Teflon president. Whether it's the poorly handled Benghazi attack and cover-up, NSA's information gathering, or the disastrous rollout of the Affordable Care Act, the blame has always rolled off the President's back. Even when the majority of Americans polled didn't want Obamacare and remain concerned about Washington's deficit spending, when Republicans tried to use the budget and debt fight to derail the Affordable Care Act, it was the GOP who received most of the blame for Washington's partial shutdown and debt-limit standoff. But with the mainline media coverage, it's amazing that citizens didn't hold...

A retiree was walking his German Shepherd, Jade, in a park in Birmingham, England, on Thursday afternoon when she suddenly ran toward the bushes, laid down next to a bag that had been left behind, and refused to move. When owner Roger Wilday got closer, he realized that the bag was a carrier - with a baby inside. Wilday ran to a friend's house nearby to call the police.

Holly Hill police say a family of five, including several children, were squatting in a home with a decomposing body, and have been collecting the dead woman's disability benefits. Officers made the discovery Thursday, when the Department of Children and Families asked police to conduct a well-being check on Tiffany Kain, a 33-year-old who suffered from spina bifida, said Chief Mark Barker. When police responded to a home on Ridgewood Avenue, they smelled a foul odor and immediately became suspicious, a police report said. They peered through a bedroom window and saw a decaying body. Officers then found Todd LaDuke,...

A new U.S. Navy directive mandates that SEALs replace the traditional “Don’t Tread On Me” Navy Jack on the sleeves of their uniforms with the American flag. The original Navy Jack was made up of 13 horizontal stripes — seven red and six white. A rattlesnake was later added diagonally across the flag, along with the words, “Don’t Tread On Me,” on the lowest white stripe. More recently, the jack was replaced with white stars on a field of blue, with the number of stars representing states in the union, like the American flag. After the 9/11 attacks, all U.S....

Rep. Allyson Schwartz, D-Pa., wants to be governor of Pennsylvania. She has a really good chance of winning, too. But she also knows that a certain health care law that rhymes with “Obamacare” is a threat to her candidacy, so now her campaign is sending emails like this one...

If the budget negotiations succeed, Democrats should insist on a full-year appropriation for HHS, not just to smooth the rocky implementation of Obamacare but to restore funding to badly damaged programs and agencies like Head Start and the National Institutes of Health. “It’s a disaster. A disaster if we continue with the yearlong sequester and continuing resolution,” said Sen. Tom Harkin, D-Iowa, who chairs the appropriations subcommittee with jurisdiction over the Labor-H bill, on the Senate floor during the shutdown. Failing a full-year HHS budget, Democrats should insist on restoring HHS funding to its pre-sequestration levels. Put another way, they...

Leave it to Mark Levin to say exactly what many conservatives have believed but not said. The RINO wing of the GOP — and Karl Rove specifically — do not want a Ken Cuccinnelli victory in Virginia.

Very interesting series of photos from the security camera make for a choppy video. What is clear is that the robber has virtually no tactical sense, no backup, little situational awareness, and focuses on the money. If anyone there had a firearm and felt threatened, this guy would have been done. Notice that in the last two or three images, he has his hand off the pistol grip, muzzle pointed away from anyone, and eyes focused on the money. The video is grainy enough that I cannot be sure if what he is holding is a real AR-15 type...

Jonathan Merritt published a critique of Doug Wilson this morning on his Religion News Service. For younger readers, who might not remember the Federal Vision (FV) controversy, Wilson is the leader of the de facto denominational home of the FV, the Communion of Reformed and Evangelical Churches. Despite the fact that the CREC has the word “Reformed†in its title, it is not a recognized Reformed communion. It is not a member of nor does it qualify to join the North American Presbyterian and Reformed Council (NAPARC). It is essentially a boutique denomination that orbits around Moscow, ID the headquarters of...
