Former President Jimmy Carter has accused critics of Barack Obama of racism following an outburst by a Republican congressman. Does he have a point? BY TOM CHIVERS President Jimmy Carter says that criticism of Barack Obama shows that there is an “inherent feeling” in America that a black man should not be President. It follows the South Carolina Republican Joe Wilson shouting “you lie!” during a speech by the President to Congress.

Here is video of Karl Rove telling Bill O'Reilly he now believes President Obama is "deliberately misleading the public" on his Health Care Plan. He was specifically referring to Obama's continued statement that what he wants will not add to the deficit, when everyone - including the independent Congressional Budget Office (CBO) - knows that it will. Obama is actually claiming that passing ObamaCare will help reign in Federal spending and reduce costs! . . . . (VIDEO)

Everyone knows that Americans are bitterly divided over politics but what is the fundamental nature of that division? What is the core disagreement that separates conservatives from liberals, right from left? Norman Podhoretz provided a provocative and persuasive answer to that question in a recent Wall Street Journal column (September 10) based on his new book, Why Are Jews Liberals? Podhoretz wrote: The great issue between the two political communities is how they feel about the nature of American society. With all exceptions duly noted, I think it fair to say that what liberals mostly see when they look at...

The four-day week could boost employment, save energy and make us happier. FANCY a three-day weekend - not just once in a while but week in week out? You may think your bosses would never agree to it, but the evidence suggests that employers, employees and the environment all benefit. The four-day week comes in two flavours. One option is to switch from five 8-hour days to four 10-hour days, meaning overall hours and salaries stay the same. In August 2008, the state of Utah moved all of its employees, apart from the emergency services, to working 4/10, as it...

From a California school teacher - - - "As you listen to the news about the student protests over illegal immigration, there are some things that you should be aware of: I am in charge of the English-as-a-second-language department at a large southern California high school which is designated a Title 1 school, meaning that its students average lower socioeconomic and income levels. Most of the schools you are hearing about, South Gate High, Bell Gardens , Huntington Park , etc., where these students are protesting, are also Title 1 schools. Title 1 schools are on the free breakfast and...

The sanctity of human life from the moment of conception throughout all of life up to and including a natural death is the only foundation our society will ever be able to stand upon if we hope to flourish as a truly free people. It’s quite obvious our foundation is crumbling. To repair it, we must go back to square one and correct our ideas about sex. Unless we give sexual intercourse its due reverence, we’ll never give human life its due reverence. The two can never be separated, as Pope Paul VI tried to tell the world in his...

I called Casey's office yesterday after the ACORN defunding vote tally was made known. I left a message telling them I want a callback explaining why Casey voted the way he did to fun a corrupt organization like ACORN after many tapes were release showing them setting up brothels. BOR had the Gang of 7 on last night as did Beck, and today when I called (as I will be calling every day until I get an answer), the message said that the voicemail of nearly every office I called was full. Keep calling! Hold them accountable! ****** Washington D.C....

By Way of Remembrance Today's Scripture "I think it right, as long as I am in this tabernacle (tent, body), to stir you up by way of remembrance" (II Peter 1:13, AMP) Today's Word from Joel and Victoria Do you know that when we dwell on the wrong things, it affects our moods? We get down, discouraged, and lose our hope. Some people today don't have the joy and the enthusiasm God wants them to have because they are constantly dwelling on negative things. But if we want to be in the position to take hold of all that...

In the wake of the Van Jones resignation, Townhall.com is taking a look at a few other characters in Obama’s closet and what their policies could mean for America. First on the list is Thomas Perez, Obama’s nominee to head the Department of Justice’s Civil Rights division.Perez is one of the last links in the chain for Attorney General Eric Holder, who is revamping the Civil Rights division in the Justice Department after the flood of dismissals and resignations in the division during the Bush administration. At the root of Perez's controversy is partisan disagreement over the politicization of the...

The friendship between teacher and student blossomed into an infatuation on a European high school trip in March 2006. But Leslie Merlino, then 36, knew she was headed for career-ending danger. Later, she stroked the girl's hair and began sending emails. That would lead to an assault charge and a court order to stay away from the student. From January to September 2007, they exchanged sexually explicit emails and talked frequently on the phone and in person. They held hands during strolls and met secretly in coffee shops. They kissed and fondled each other in their more private moments. By...

The words of Thomas Paine rang true before, “We have it in our power to begin the world over again,” and they are just as true today. The United States of America has become a totalitarian regime, run by the GOP and the DNC, with George Soros pulling the strings and B. Hussein Obama playing the roll of the Manchurian Candidate. We, the people, of these United States, have the illusion of freedom, in that we still go to the polls and vote, but do we have a choice in candidates? I say no. We are allowed to dissent, but...

SNIPPET: "The United States government's stepped-up courting of Islamist groups is on display at the State Department web portal www.america.gov. The site bills itself as a place to "meet the people" and "explore the values and ideas that define the character of the United States." But when it comes to American Muslim organizations, that often means providing a U.S. government stamp of approval to organizations linked to the Muslim Brotherhood such as the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) or apologists like the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC)." SNIPPET: "Shea said this discrimination...

Praying to God in Secret "When you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place . . ." —Matthew 6:6 The primary thought in the area of religion is— keep your eyes on God, not on people. Your motivation should not be the desire to be known as a praying person. Find an inner room in which to pray where no one even knows you are praying, shut the door, and talk to God in secret. Have no motivation other than to know your Father...

GENEVA | Western nations that spent the past several years slamming the Bush administration for not doing enough to deal with climate change were conspicuously absent from a recent global climate conference. The Obama administration sent a large entourage to the third World Climate Conference in Geneva earlier this month, trumpeting the return of the United States to the climate change debate. But representatives from Britain, Germany, France, Italy, Canada and Australia were nowhere to be found. The European Commission, the executive arm of the 27-member European Union, also failed to send a commissioner. In contrast, the United States sent...
