Excellent interview with Tom Woods as Judge Napolitano fills in for Glenn Beck. Woods outlines the very basic reasons why the "People vs. Profits" slogan is nonsense. Enjoy!

I could use some help solving this mystery. This has not been confirmed, the The American Thinker speculates: An anti-Obama website, The Obama File, posts a photograph purporting to show President Obama putting his hand over his heart during the playing of the Russian national anthem, during his visit to Moscow. How can it possibly be a genuine photograph, when we know that the President didn't put his hand over his heart during the playing of the American national anthem, as demonstrated in this now-infamous photograph taken during the campaign? UPDATE: The above photo of Obama holding his hand over...

Freedom Federation Takes Flight by: Bethany Stotts, July 08, 2009 A coalition of national groups committed to Judeo-Christian values launched the Freedom Federation on June 30, 2009 with the goal of promoting freedom and representing Christian perspectives on national issues such as abortion, health care, and hate crimes legislation. Ironically, the speakers talked a lot about “justice”—but not justice as often defined on campus. “Everyone among us would intervene at any point [if] anyone were being accosted or mistreated because of their race or their gender or any other stereotype or...whatever might be,” said Rick Scarborough, founder of Vision International,...

Much like no-limit Texas Hold ‘em poker and hermit crab racing, politics is a game where you are rarely offered a second chance these days. Perennial candidates in national or statewide races — a regular feature in America through the first half of the 20th century — have been largely driven toward extinction by a prevailing political wind which banishes losers to the gulag of the Trivial Pursuit realm.

He is alleged to be the real father of Michael Jackson's children. Another claim says he is being investigated for prescribing the singer dangerous narcotic pain medications and anesthesia. Now, Jackson's longtime dermatologist, Dr. Arnold Klein, speaks out to address the rumors. Klein, a Professor of Dermatology and Medicine at UCLA medical school, and a favorite of stars such as Elizabeth Taylor, flatly denies any involvement in over-prescribing drugs to Jackson. "I didn't give him this crap they are talking about," Klein states in a new interview with Good Morning America. "I've never prescribed Oxycontin in my life. How am...

The orange and white stray cat was brought to Vinton Veterinary Hospital on June 26th and tested positive for rabies four days later. A notice went up on neighbors doors in the Garden City area of Roanoke City. The cat had been seen in the 1500 block of Hillview Avenue. Heather Reed is a Veterinary Technician at Vinton Veterinary Hospital and now has to undergo rabies shots after being bitten by the rabid cat. She says, “I was at home when the health department called me and um got a little frantic because i am five months pregnant and i...

It was Christmas in July for some Westchester County residents. A wintry mix of hail and heavy thunderstorms downed trees and utility poles in Yonkers last night -- causing mountains of slush and ice to build up in parking lots and on grassy areas. Police said at least two homes were damaged by falling sleet, which hit the area at 11:30 p.m.

the Rasmussen survey is correct, Barack Obama's standing with voters is tanking. (Rasmussen's presidential tracking survey is a "likely voter" poll.) Today, for the first time, Obama's "approval index" stands at -5, as 37% of voters express strong disapproval of his performance, while 32% strongly approve.

My column below memorializes some true American heroes whose funerals won’t get wall-to-wall cable coverage. But first I wanted to share an e-mail from reader Noelle, who wrote me yesterday: We spent a nailbiting Sunday wondering if one of the men killed at [Combat Outpost] Zerok in Afghanistan on July 4th was our son. God bless the Casillas and Fairbairn families in this hour of grief over futures that now will never come to pass. The privates who died were mortarmen, the guys who go outside and return fire. I’m sorry about Michael Jackson’s totally wasted life, but he’s not...

Here is video of a discussion today on Morning Joe, where Joe Scarborough, Lawrence O'Donnell, Mike Barnacle, and Pat Buchanan talked about the Obama Administration's chances of getting their Government Health Care Plan adopted. Pat Buchanan says he believes the Obama team may be "headed for the iceberg," both in terms of losing the Health Care fight and because of the floundering U.S. economy. . . . . (Watch Video)

This morning, Michael Gerson of the Washington Post compares President Obama to the captain of the Titanic minutes before his ship sunk. He also acknowledges that stimulus spending isn't stimulating (there is more and more of that in the page if the Post): The stimulus package hasn't been very stimulating — as many economists predicted. Pouring money into the economy through a thirsty sponge of federal programs — the preferred method of Congress — is slow and inefficient. In retrospect, all of the stimulus funds should have been given to individuals directly from the tap.

With the recent passing of Jack Kemp, I was reminded of his exceptional effort in leading the charge to supply side economics in the early 80's. The man behind the thinking was Arthur Laffer, a truly gifted economist. Laffer's newest Book, The End of Prosperity: How Higher Taxes Will Doom the Economy--If We Let It Happen chronicles the power of less government and less taxes. Many argued that the deficits of the 80's was a function of supply side economics - that low taxes drove debt. But the reality is, as well told in the book, revenues increased under Laffer...

As predicted in our exclusive Gerard Group interview with Konstantin Preobrezhensky , a naïve and submissive President Obama allowed himself to be manipulated and manhandled by Vladimir Putin during his first visit to the Russian Republic. Obama's meeting with Prime Minister Putin revealed an American president unprepared to face the Russian bear. Instead of the intended discussion of issues, including Iran, North Korea, war in Georgia , etc., Putin launched into a rambling monologue about the history of the Cold War. The Russian Prime Minister's lecture took a full hour to conclude, after which there was precious little of the...

While Obama's approval rating has remained fairly steady, there has been significantly more change in the percentage of Americans who have no opinion of Obama, down from 19% in January to 7% in June, and those who disapprove of his job performance, up from 15% to 32%. Thus, the overall pattern has been a fairly stable positive rating of Obama's job performance, coupled with an increase in negatives occurring concomitantly with a drop in those with no opinion.

Great Orators of the Democratic Party... 'One man with courage makes a majority.' - Andrew Jackson The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.' - Franklin D. Roosevelt 'The buck stops here.' - Harry S. Truman 'Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country.' - John F. Kennedy And for today's democrats... 'It depends what your definition of 'IS' is?'' - Bill Clinton 'That Obama - I would like to cut his NUTS off.' - Jesse Jackson 'Those rumors are false .... I believe in the sanctity of marriage.'...

WACO — An FBI agent has been sentenced to two years’ probation and 300 hours of community service for killing a neighbor’s Chihuahua last year. On Wednesday, a state district judge in Waco placed Lovett Leslie Ledger Jr. on deferred adjudication. That means no conviction will appear on his record if he successfully completes probation. The sentence comes about three months after Ledger pleaded no contest to animal cruelty charges, the Waco Tribune-Herald reported. Last year Ledger shot his neighbor’s 3-pound dog with a pellet gun as it walked near his house. FBI spokesman Erik Vasys said today that the...

People close to Sarah Palin say national political reporters and pundits have missed the real reasons for her surprising decision to resign as Alaska governor. The national media have dismissed or downplayed her real motives, which had little to do with any plans to run for president in 2012. Contrary to most reports, her decision had been in the works for months, accelerating recently as it became clear that controversies and endless ethics investigations were threatening to overshadow her legislative agenda. "Attacks inside Alaska and largely invisible to the national media had paralyzed her administration," someone close to the governor...

Remember those old Pantene shampoo ads with ’80s modeling sensation Kelly LeBrock? “Don’t hate me because I’m beautiful.” Apparently women like Maureen Dowd and Liz Trotta didn’t get the memo. (Perhaps Keith Olbermann fits into this category as well.) They’re still hounding Sarah Palin — Dowd with her recycled “Caribou Barbie” shtick that passes for humor in the sourly elite pages of the New York Times, and Trotta’s contention that Palin is “inarticulate and undereducated,” hadn’t accomplished anything, “brought the attacks on herself,” is “wacky and nutty,” and only got ahead because of her looks. Oh, and Trotta thinks Dowd...
