According to an analysis by FiveThirtyEight's Seth Masket, any chance that the Republican Party will return to its more moderate ways is being undercut by supporters of Donald Trump who are taking over local parties and punishing any lawmaker who doesn't toe the Trump line. As Masket notes, censuring of candidates used

My radicalism causes me to enjoy/support/be grateful for:
Inflation at 1.5%
Gasoline at $1.85 a gallon
Butter at $1.50 a pound
A southern border sealed tight
Unemployment rate at 3.8%
America's enemies not invading their neighbors
A President not taking payoffs from Red China
Iran's nuclear weapons program being stopped in its tracks

Hogan won because of 8 years of Martin Omalley and the insane Maryland “Rain Tax”. Even democrats laughed at the attempt to portray this rino into some anti-abortion conservative crusader. When he went for reelection, instead of running a moderate dem against him, MD democrats ran a NAACP whackjob. That, and Hogans cancer (which he wore like a shield against the Baltimore Sun) led to his easy reelection.
Seeing Trump DEMOLISH him in Maryland will be fun to see.

‘GOP moderates’ as in democrats.

And where was all this hand wringing when in the 90s under Clinton the democrats drove out all moderates????
Don’t give me this nonsense...

C’mon, man.
Aside from your tax money and contributions, you and your neighbors in a small town in Indiana don’t mean anything to the Federal gov’t OR the Republican party. What you want and/or need is of no concern to either entity. Hell, after 2020, they’ve proven even your VOTES mean nothing!

Turn about is fair play, since moderates have been destroying the Republican Party for decades now. Two can play this game, and may the best ideology win the day.

I voted for those term limits years ago when Missouri passed them. However, I have changed my opinion and now believe term limits are the WORST idea conservatives could/should support.
With or without term limits, all levels of government have bureaucrats who can be around for, literally, decades. With term limits, the bureaucrats "outlive" the legislators. Bureaucrats can simply wait-out the terms of legislators whose positions they dislike, and then implement their preferred policies - either by default or through legislation by a "preferred" incumbent.
If I could do it again, I would oppose term limits. We need to vote out of office all politicians who refuse to vote in accordance with their constituents' preferences in favor of their own personal preferences (ie. RINO's).

That’s just it...They don’t get voted out...Even though it’s difficult, bureaucrats CAN be fired...It just takes effort and will to do so....
But I do understand where you are coming from and I don’t see any change in my lifetime...

How about term limits for staff as well. States should require all reps and senators bring staff from home to make sure the state’s best interests are being protected.

Who is zooming WHO?
Its radical to want to make America Great Again , and to follow the plain meaning of the Constitution?
In is exactly the opposite.
The radicals are those caterwauling about Trump Supporters.
And they are American Marxists.
We are WINNING!
