With or without term limits, all levels of government have bureaucrats who can be around for, literally, decades. With term limits, the bureaucrats "outlive" the legislators. Bureaucrats can simply wait-out the terms of legislators whose positions they dislike, and then implement their preferred policies - either by default or through legislation by a "preferred" incumbent.
If I could do it again, I would oppose term limits. We need to vote out of office all politicians who refuse to vote in accordance with their constituents' preferences in favor of their own personal preferences (ie. RINO's).
That’s just it...They don’t get voted out...Even though it’s difficult, bureaucrats CAN be fired...It just takes effort and will to do so....
But I do understand where you are coming from and I don’t see any change in my lifetime...
How about term limits for staff as well. States should require all reps and senators bring staff from home to make sure the state’s best interests are being protected.
