Five Reasons Why Kasich-Rubio Is the Right 2016 Ticket
National Review ^ | August 14, 2015 | Myra Adams

Last weekend I had the pleasure of attending the annual conservative RedState Gathering, where nine Republican presidential candidates gave fiery speeches. Although all were very impressive speakers, I kept applying the “Buckley rule” — these days, generally thought of as “nominate the most conservative candidate who is electable” — and did not feel confident that any of them could actually win the White House in 2016.

Except for expanding Obamacare, and supporting gay marriage/ judicial legislative tyranny! Other than allowing the U.S. Constitution to be subverted by unelected judges..what could go wrong?

Just great. The RNC got a relapse of Bob Dolitis.

Why are you attacking me? Kasich isn’t my candidate.

yes yes

You know it’s interesting....Lincoln was actually a celebrity of sorts. His ethos was just right, and coincided with his timing. (His image guy was named Mark Hanna if I remember correctly? Is that right?).

And TR certainly had a knack for it as well. Yes, he was internally driven to be a Tough Man, and he certainly was. But he was also eager to share that image with the world, and he did, and it affected everything.....

George Washington of course was a celebrity in his day.

Then there’s JFK and Reagan, obviously.

But Trump is the only one who really gets the nature of celebrity as it is TODAY.

in that regard, he is very much like....Washington, Jackson, Lincoln, TR, JFK and Reagan.

Fascinating really

National elections often have pivotal issues, sometimes existential issues for the survival of the nation, sometimes issues are exaggerated but this cycle there is one issue which carries the potential to destroy the conservative movement, the Republican Party, the Republic itself.

Immigration poses a threat to conservatism, to the party, and to the Republic which if not properly dealt with by the people in this election, can destroy all three. Both Gov. Kasich and Sen. Rubio have utterly disqualified themselves from consideration because they have failed utterly on immigration. Both are for amnesty and worse. These two men combined in one administration would effect the most pernicious aspects of synergism in which 1+1 = 3.

A recent report reveals that there are 42 million immigrants in the country, well over 10%. If the trend continues no Republican, no conservative can hope to find the votes among the college of electors to win a national campaign. Our economy will continue to circle the drain, our national defenses will continue to weaken, our national resolve and purpose will become more confused, our vulnerabilities will commensurately increase and one can expect within a generation a rapid disintegration as debt, enemies and moral confusion finish the last great hope of mankind.

There are many important issues in this as in all elections but this time there is only one thing we absolutely have to get right. It is our last chance.

I have been predicting a rerun of 1860 for several years - four major tickets, winner with <40% of the popular vote, strong sectional splits, followed by breakup.

A Kasich-Rubio ticket fits this scenario well, running against Trump-Cruz, Warren-Sanders, and Bush-Clinton.

Kasich is a bigger socialist then Bush, if Bush, Rubio or Kasich win the right to carry the republican banner in the election I’ll vote 3rd party or stay home.

2 Reasons why NOT regarding Kasich:”

1. He is telling us that ‘The Supreme Court has spoken and gay marriage is the law-—Just move on”.

Many Americans do NOT agree with that sentiment.

2. Kasich is totally clueless about the problems caused by ILLEGAL INVADERS into the USA.

This is another GOPe garbage put out. None of the polls of the VOTERS indicate this.

Kasich is too boring to win anything...

I keep saying this. Kasich ran an excellent campaign to be re-elected as Governor. He didn't come across as boring or dumb.

That's why I'm relieved that all of his Democratic tendencies are out in the open already. If he had gained traction, he might've been the puppet masters "plan B".

Voters don’t matter if they are herded in to the GOPe shell game.

You can vote all you want, but no matter what you choose all the shells have a GOPe approved lackey under them.

Leave the game and you’re a reactionary racists that must be purged from the party. If the weak candidate that GOPe picks gets creamed by the ‘Rat candidate, no biggie. They all want the same basic thing anyway, the window dressing is just different.

Welcome to the new Oligarchy, peon.

He's done it all with social media, expanded out to national media coverage.

I remember Sarah Palin being excoriated for suggesting that the GOP must master social media.
