Ohio Gov. John Kasich is long gone from the Republican presidential primary but on Sunday hinted about finally endorsing Donald Trump..." Kasich, whose only primary win was in Ohio, has created problems for the Trump campaign, despite conceding in May to the GOP presidential nominee -- refusing to endorse Trump or attend official events during the party’s nominating convention last month in Cleveland. Such actions appear to have so far hurt efforts to create state party unity and Trump’s chances of winning Ohio, considering no GOP presidential nominee has been elected to the White House without winning the state. “He's...

Donald Trump's campaign reached out to John Kasich in May with an offer to make him the "most powerful vice president in history," the New York Times reported Tuesday. Trump's oldest son, Donald Trump Jr., reached out to a Kasich advisor after the Ohio governor ended his own presidential campaign, promising that if he accepted the vice presidency, Kasich would be in charge of domestic and foreign policy. The advisor asked what Trump would be in charge of, the report said, and Trump Jr. responded: "Making America great again."

John Kasich suspended his run for president nearly two months ago, but his campaign is still arguing that he, and not Donald Trump, would be the best candidate to take on Hillary Clinton. On Wednesday, the Ohio governor's top political adviser trumpeted a new round of polls that showed Kasich besting Clinton in swing states — and showed Trump getting decimated. “Under a modeled electorate, Trump loses every swing state by 6-12 points. Governor Kasich wins 6 out of 7 swing states. Speaker Ryan wins 2 out of 7 swing states,” wrote John Weaver, Kasich’s former senior campaign adviser, in...

Anyone else think Kasich must have had a gentlemen's agreement with Trump? Why else would he stay in the race for weeks/months after it was obvious his polls weren't going much higher? Though he didn't have much hope of winning, his staying in divided the "not Trump" vote, siphoning valuable votes and momentum away from Cruz. Just my two cents. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Kasich as the VP nominee, especially since he could deliver Ohio in November.

On the radio. Kasich to drop out at 5pm tonight. The electroshock therapy and Haldol must have kicked in.

Ohio Gov. John Kasich plans to suspend his run to be the GOP presidential nominee, a senior campaign advisor told NBC News on Wednesday. He had previously cancelled a planned event in order to make a Wednesday night statement in Ohio. Kasich was left the only man standing against Donald Trump in the Republican presidential primary race after Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas suspended his run on Tuesday night.

John Kasich is staying in the Republican presidential race, his campaign said Tuesday. After finishing a distant third in Tuesday's Indiana primary, the Kasich campaign's chief strategist, John Weaver, sent out a memo announcing the Ohio governor will remain in the race until Trump secures the GOP nomination. "Tonight's results are not going to alter Gov. Kasich's campaign plans," Weaver wrote in the memo. "Our strategy has been and continues to be one that involves winning the nomination at an open convention."

On his Fox News program last night, Shepard Smith revealed a conversation he said he had with former New York Senator Alfonse D’Amato in which D’Amato was quoted as saying that the Republican National Committee will change the rules to give Gov. John Kasich a shot at the nomination.

I’ve heard a lot of predictions about the outcome of the GOP primary this week, but to say that there’s some sort of consensus forming would be a bit of an exaggeration to put it mildly. Echoing the sentiments of some of the guests on the cable news morning shows, Lawnewz said that Trump still wins the whole thing once he gets to wrangle for a few missing delegates coming into Cleveland. At the same time, Ted Cruz backer Scott Walker said that the Texas Senator is now set up to take it on the second ballot. And of course...

There was an old "Saturday Night Live" fake movie trailer narrated by horror movie veteran Christopher Lee. John Belushi played a houseguest who couldn't take a hint from a couple that just wanted to go to bed. The husband tells Belushi, "Look, I don't want to be rude, but my wife is VERY tired!" Belushi responds by picking up the TV Guide and saying dismissively, "Yeah. ... Hey, there's a good movie on tonight! I think I'll call up some friends and watch it over here!" Then came Lee's creepy voiceover: "It came without warning! They were just being POLITE!...

Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Republican presidential candidate Gov. John Kasich (R-OH) said his rivals Donald Trump and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) should end their campaigns and consolidate behind his candidacy. Partial transcript as follows: TODD: Ted Cruz’s campaign is repeatedly called for you to get out, saying a vote for you is a vote for Donald Trump. … If you thought your position in this race strengthened Trump, would you get out? KASICH: Chuck, I’m beating Hillary by 11 points. I’m the only one that can win in the fall. And as you noticed the narrative over the...

Ohio Gov. John Kasich said he isn't willing to serve as anyone's vice president, but he indicated party affiliation would not matter to him when choosing his own running mate. After losing the Arizona primary and trailing a candidate who is no longer running for president, Kasich hit the campaign trail in Wisconsin and told voters only he could beat the Democrats in November. *********snip-it******** The questioner then asked whether the Ohio governor would consider selecting a Democrat as his vice presidential running mate. Kasich avoided immediately answering the question before indicating he would not rule out working with a...

Ohio governor and Republican presidential candidate John Kasich gently criticized Senate Republicans' approach to President Obama's nomination of Merrick Garland to the Supreme Court, suggesting lawmakers should at least meet with the nominee, and even saying he'd consider nominating Garland himself, as president. "I never thought the president should send it because I knew nothing was going to happen," Kasich told "Face the Nation" in an interview taped for Sunday's broadcast. "Frankly," he added, "they probably ought to all sit down and meet with the guy." Senate Republican leaders have adamantly refused to consider the nomination of Garland, who's currently...

Ohio Gov. John Kasich leads GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump by 5 points in Mr. Kasich’s home state, according to a poll released on the eve of the March 15 primary there. Mr. Kasich had the support of 40 percent of likely GOP primary voters in Ohio in the Monmouth University poll released Monday, followed by Mr. Trump at 35 percent. Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas was at 15 percent and Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida was at 5 percent. “The Ohio race is tight, but with Rubio floundering in Florida, Kasich could potentially bolster his standing as the establishment’s...

In a post debate interview with Sean Hannity, Ohio governor John Kasich called a past immigration vote of his "amnesty." Watch here: -snip- Look, I was there when Reagan did the amnesty thing. I was there -- amnesty -- I was there in '86. I voted for the bill.

While a member of Congress in 1993, now Ohio Governor John Kasich voted for the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). It cost Ohio 112,500 jobs and cost all of America 2.7 Million Jobs according to the Economic Policy Institute. As unemployed Ohioans go to the voting booth to decide which Republican should be President, they shoul;d remember they're out of work because of John Kasich's vote. Veteran pollster Pat Caddell warns that Ohio Gov. John Kasich’s vote for the North American Free Trade Agreement during his tenure in Congress could cost him both his approval rating as governor and...

Below are just some of Kasich’s most bizarre and radical statements on immigration, which have flown under the radar.1) “God Bless†Illegal Immigrants Illegal immigrants are a “critical part of our society,†John Kasich told the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce last October. “For those that are here that have been law abiding, God bless them,†Kasich said—arguing that illegals “should have a path to legalization.â€2) “I couldn’t imagine†enforcing our current immigration laws: “That is not… the kind of values that we believe in.†On the GOP debate stage in February, Kasich told millions of American voters that enforcing the...

A couple days ago we reported that team Kasich was facing a court challenge to their ballot access in Pennsylvania. Specifically, the plaintiff in the case alleged that Team Kasich failed to file the required 2,000 valid signatures to appear on the ballot in Pennsylvania. The Kasich campaign filed 2,184 signatures, but the plaintiff alleged that well over 184 of those signatures were invalid and/or fraudulent for a whole host of reasons.
