The BBC has been accused of “race-baiting” for inviting radical anti-Israel MP George Galloway to appear at a high-profile show hosted in Finchley and Golders Green, which is home to one of the largest Jewish communities in the UK.

“Question Time” sees commentators and political figures take part in a panel discussion on hot political topics, as well as fielding questions from members of the audience. Each episode is filmed in different locations around the country to allow different communities to take part.

But the decision to invite Galloway of all people to the upcoming showing—which will be based in a neighborhood with such a large Jewish population—has left some British Jews seething.

As leader of the far-left Respect Party, Galloway has been repeatedly accused of anti-Semitism for incendiary remarks and vocal opposition to any Jewish right to self-determination in Israel. …

Gotta keep dem muzzies happy, lest they commence burning all of our cars.

Actually, the far left here is becoming profoundly anti-Semitic.

“Becoming” . . . ? Their history with respect to Israel ought to reveal that it was not a “becoming”.

Just like the other “minorities”, they pander to get votes and vilify the other half of the Uniparty to that end.

First they give away their country to the Muzzies on a silver platter, citing open-arms diversity. Then they arrange that a rabid, insane anti-semite Muzzie lover like Galloway speak, in of all places, the area with the highest concentration of Orthodox Jews in the country. People who have contributed peaceful citizenship and economic growth to the country.

This is England? This is a country bent on national suicide, with the most popular baby name last year being Mohammed.

No more "Romeo and Juliet". No more James Herriots. No more "Downton Abbeys". From now on, it will be "Little Achmed, My Jihadi Martyr", "Bombs Away", "Jews Must Die", etc.

Liberalism truly is a mental disorder.

Well, to be fair, not having Downton Abby around would be a GOOD thing.

I have always enjoyed period movies and therefore I enjoy watching D.A. online after its weekly showing on TV (since I have not owned a TV for 35+ years). I also enjoyed watching “All Creatures Great and Small” once again online, having enjoyed it so much as a kid. The regular refuse offered on TV I live happily without.

All Creatures was lovely. I have many British dramas and comedy shows on dvd. And PBS still plays some of the good new shows. There’s a nice mystery series called Grantchester. I just think the Abby stinks.

Isn't it wonderful that we live in America, and can therefore agree to disagree.

Grantchester is great and will get a 2nd series.

The only problem with British dramas like that is that the US and the world might think/does think England/UK is like that. That its a period drama, and that Britain died years ago. The only contemporary UK drama with chocolate box views of the UK is probably Midsomer Murders.

It does annoy me a bit that cosy UK dramas are popular abroad, if only that they give a false idea of British TV, which is far grittier and darker than network US TV. I like the ‘cosy’ stuff, just as long as its balanced with darker fare.

British TV 2015 is Broadchurch, Peaky Blinders and Happy Valley, not Downton. I DO really like Grantchester though.

1—We did not give our country away. 96% of the UK is non-Muslim, 92% white.

2—The programme is a weekly and very famous (in the UK) political show that been running for decades. It goes to a different area/town/city every week. And has always had passionate debate in cities straight after controversial incidents. Frankly, it makes for great TV, great debate.
That’s the point of the show: pitting strong beliefs against each other.

3—The show will pit Galloway and his crap against Jews deliberately, so as to give the London Jewish community a chance to argue and debate him. I have no doubt that the people of that area will win the debate and arguments, and expose Galloway as the bigot he is. In fact, this show from a Jewish area imo will be a good thing for Jews: as I said, Galloway cannot control his temper, and he will be exposed and beaten.

4—Oh ffs, not this AGAIN!. Mohammed is NOT the most popular name in the UK or even just England!. This has been debunked here so many times by myself and the other UK freepers.

5-National suicide?. This is the hysteria we have come to expect from the US, maybe if more loike you came here, youd see we have problems (some Islamic, some not) but we are far from the supposedly dying nation we are constantly told we are.

EU exit is at its highest support. UKIP is THE biggest rising political party.

I would probably enjoy the green places of the UK, such as Scotland, the Yorkshire area, etc. I always enjoy pastoral settings. Cities don't turn me on as much. Yes, I live in NYC, but I live in one of the greenest (grass and trees green, not PC green!) boroughs. I would wilt away if I had to live among concrete buildings like a rat or pigeon.

Galloway has been ranting and raving anti-semitic nonsense for years and years. I'd love to see someone from Golders Green take him down good.

Uh...Prime Suspect was pretty popular over here and none-too-twee. British movies can be as filthy and loathsome as American movies and none-too-twee. Americans like Brit-coms because they’re funny and murder mystery series because they’re fun and clever. Cozy? Yes, some of them. No offense but you never seem to be happy with Americans. If they don’t watch British tv they’re dopes; and if they do watch it they watch it all wrong.

If I am criticising any Americans, its the TV bosses not the audience.

I wish they would treat you like adults, not remake top UK series, but show the original. Americans love Britain, so why not?. If you love Bond, Potter and Downton, why treat that audience as if they cant listen to British accents?. Even if they are regional and a bit strong/thick.

TV bosses pander to a British stereotype, so many Americans end up only seeing Benny Hill, Downton, costume dramas, twee murder mysteries. They don’t realise how groundbreaking British TV and film has been for decades and still is.

As I said, I enjoy many of the ‘twee’ shows, but I prefer darker fare. And I really want, as a huge and passionate fan of British film and TV, more Americans to see we are more than Downton Abbey, Ballykissangel and Midsomer Murders. As Grantchester and Endeavour prove, a period drama can be as gritty and dark as modern British life. Like life, a balance.

I am glad now that BBC America and other US channels show darker, grittier UK shows. Even though you are an avowed Anglophile, I would be happy to recommend classic and contemporary British film and TV you may have missed/not be aware of.

p.s do you fancy the lead actor in Grantchester, lol. I haven’t found a girl or woman who dosent!. The actor playing the lead copper has been/is still a major UK TV heartthrob himself (Robson Green).
