For a head of state to visit the White House and not pose for photographers is rare. For a key ally to be left to his own devices while the President withdraws to have dinner in private was, until this week, unheard of.
Yet that is how Binyamin Netanyahu was treated by President Obama on Tuesday night, according to Israeli reports on a trip seen in Jerusalem tonight as a disastrous humiliation.
After failing to extract a written promise of concessions on Jewish settlements, Mr Obama walked out of his meeting with Mr Netanyahu but invited him to stay at the White House, consult with advisors and “let me know if there is anything new”, a US congressman who spoke to the Prime Minister said today.
“It was awful,” the congressman said. One Israeli newspaper called the meeting “a hazing in stages”, poisoned by such mistrust that the Israeli delegation eventually left rather than risk being eavesdropped on a White House phone line. Another said that the Prime Minister had received “the treatment reserved for the President of Equatorial Guinea”.

Barack Obama wins 77 percent of Jewish vote, exit polls show

Despite the tense rift between Republican and Democratic Jews over the course of the 2008 U.S. presidential campaign, exit polls on Tuesday showed that Barack Obama received about 77 percent of the Jewish vote.
These numbers were higher even than the 2004 election, when Democratic candidate John Kerry received 74 percent of the Jewish vote. Al Gore received the highest percentage of Jewish votes in 2000, with 79 percent.
Jeremy Ben-Ami, executive director of the J Street lobby group on Tuesday called Obama’s victory a sign that the campaign waged against him by Republican Jews comprised “baseless smears.”

As I recall - and I could be misremembering (sic) - Israel offered and we asked them to stand off in order to reduce the political ramifications.

Obama wants us to feel bad. He is a malignant narcissist who not only needs attention but also needs to control. The more angst, nerves and unease he can sow the more superior he feels. We don’t have to let him have the upper hand, however. Prayer changes things. If we pray for God to protect the US and Israel, that is a powerful thing. Obama can’t thwart God; he can only play into His hand.
0bama does not even extend the common courtesy expected of a host to a guest. If someone is visiting you in your home and the visit extends into dinner you either terminate the meeting and schedule another or you invite the person to dine with you. If the meeting had unexpectedly gone longer than it should and 0bama had promised his family a private dinner, he should have apologized profusely and instructed the White House kitchen to provide Mr. Netanyahu and his entourage to feed them.
It is incredibly rude in any culture to eat while someone in your home goes without.
