Hillary Clinton tops list of most admired women; Oprah Winfrey a close second

PRINCETON, NJ -- President George W. Bush tops Gallup's annual survey of the "most admired man" for the fourth year in a row. Hillary Clinton leads the most admired woman list, with Oprah Winfrey close behind. Republicans and Democrats differ significantly in their views of this year's most admirable men and women. Republicans overwhelmingly say the president is the most admired man, and also name first lady Laura Bush and national security adviser Condoleezza Rice as the most admired women. Democrats, meanwhile, are most likely to mention Bill and Hillary Clinton as the most admired man and woman.

Most Admired Men

Nearly one in four Americans name George W. Bush, without prompting, as the most admired man this year, according to the Dec. 17-19 CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll. Former President Bill Clinton, who recently underwent a quadruple bypass and opened his presidential library in Little Rock, Ark., comes in second place, with 6% of respondents mentioning him. Rounding out the top five most admired this year are Secretary of State Colin Powell, at 5%, former President Jimmy Carter, at 4%, and the Rev. Billy Graham, at 3%.

"Something is terribly wrong with the female poll. Media must be trying to set Hill up and asked only rats. I don't believe it."

Uh... I'm assuming by "rats" you mean DEMOC-rats, right? if that were the case, how do you explain these entries:

3.Laura Bush
4.Condoleezza Rice

5.Margaret Thatcher
6.Barbara Bush

8.Nancy Reagan
9.Martha Stewart

Maybe someone else has already brought this to your attention; I haven't read the rest of the thread, I don't know. (and maybe Martha Stewart is some kind of comsimp, after all!)

It is not just the face, it is her screeching voice.

Even when she is just talking in the Senate, it is irritating as all get out. When she gives a campaign speech, I wouldn't be surprised if she got every dog for a 50 mile radius to start howling. I truly have to mute her.

I muted Kerry, because he was annoying, I muted Gore because his cadence was irritating, and when Hill/Bill comes on, I shall mute and darken the set.

They will have to use quotes like these to at least try and counter the media's inevitable, near-sexual excitement over her. Though if the GOP does, I'm sure that Hillary's allies will spin it as a bullying attack on a woman as they did to Lazio who dared walk over to her and present her with a piece of paper; which was promptly equated to abusive male behavior. Lazio might as well have been wearing a sleave-less white t-shirt.

"Hillary stands a good chance to be elected in 08 based more on her anatomy than her ability"

Not gonna happen.
I'll merely repost what someone else said on this thread.

"I think the fact that Bush's 23 percent is MORE THAN Bubba's 6 percent and Hillary's 13 percent COMBINED, should tell you something..."

One way the GOP could counteract her in respect to "bullying a woman", would be to run Condoleeza. Even if they don't expect her to win nomination at first, I think just running her at all takes the "woman president" novelty away (I don't consider this last election's woman candidate any more than the MSM will, they will act as though Hill/Bill is first LEGITIMATE woman presidential candidate.)

The MSM has had a lot of practice at insulting, bullying and not respecting Condi, how much worse could it get for her? But, there is prolly an abundance of material to use against Her Hillness.

How do you feel about Dick Morris saying this week that he doesn't see any GOP candidate that could win the GOP primary AND beat Hill/Bill? Does he know what he's talking about, in this instance?

Dick Morris, bless his cotton socks, doesn't know what he is talking about half the time.
While he is right sometimes, his record is a bit patchy to to be frank.
He was wrong about Arnold winning the Cali recall elections for example. If I remember correctly, he was forced to buy Bill O'Reilley dinner over that wrong call.
Bill Morris has hung around the Clintons too much in his lifetime to be solidly trustworthy.

if that were the case, how do you explain these entries:

The MSM had to throw them in there to make the poll look legitimate.

Imagine if they threw a poll at us that contained only entries such as: Jane fonda, Hillary Clinton, Gloria Steinem, etc.

The poll doesn't say what they admire her for. Maybe they admire her for putting up with that pos for so long.

LOL The media probably asked the question like this:

"Which recently elected female junior senator from NY is most admired?" ;)

There are, unfortunately, too many women that would vote for Hillary because she's "such a strong influence for women". The republicans NEED to pick someone strong enough to overcome that 1 factor - Would Rudy beat Hillary in New York? I think so and then if he carries NY, she could carry all the other liberal "blue" states and it wouldn't matter if the "red" states just vote republican like they did this year. It's all about ELECTORAL WINNING!

Actually, it isn't that surprising that Hillary topped the list. It should be noted that Hillary didnt "beat" Laura, it's just that there was only one Liberal woman that people could think of, but several conservative women. Add up the ConWomen (Bush, Barb Bush, Condi Rice, and Marg. Thatcher and they get over 20% combined. So, the conservative female contigency wipes out the left contigency, which consists of one broad.

What is so great about Rudy? Other than on law and order and foreign policy he is a liberal. He also has not proven his competance as a statesman. Just because the media loves that RINO doesn't mean he deserves to be president.

Just say NO to Ruina Giussolini.

John Kerry on the most admired list? As well as Clintoon and Carter? Gag. And Hillary takes the top spot because that's all Demonrats have an answer for. Republican leaning voters split theirs between Laura, Condi, Margaret Thatcher and Barbara Bush.
