The missus's impromptu call signals clinton polling woes
An extension of A Scoundrel's Pythagorean Imperative, missus clinton's Sunday-Circuit, pink-suited panic
by Mia T, 12.23.03
Hillary from Westchester was on the line, and she was upset.
"Literally, I have been accused of everything from murder on down," the first-time caller complained. "And it's hurtful and personally distressing when it first happens. But when it continues . . ."
Hillary was Hillary Rodham Clinton, the junior United States senator from New York, who surprised Brian Lehrer by unexpectedly phoning his call-in show on WNYC radio in New York this month to respond to a sensational charge that a listener had made about her and her husband.
There was a time when Mrs. Clinton did her best to fade into the woodwork and be seen as just another lawmaker on Capitol Hill. But these days, the woman who started her Senate candidacy with a "listening tour" cannot stop talking -- or so it seems to politicians and strategists in both parties....
As it turns out, Mrs. Clinton was at home in Chappaqua, N.Y., listening to the program when a caller telephoned to complain that the Clinton administration had established a policy barring military personnel from entering the White House while wearing their uniforms.
Mrs. Clinton picked up the phone and got through to the show to set the record straight: it never happened.
For Mrs. Clinton, Listening Subsides and Talk Is Louder

hile "murder on down" is hardly a fair characterization of the hierarchy of clintoncrimes -- (are clinton treason and clinton rape really lower-order-of-magnitude horrors?) -- certainly clinton treason and clinton rape each rip the clinton military loathing charge that provoked the missus's call to Lehrer. It is especially telling, therefore, that neither clinton ever felt compelled to pick up the phone to "set the record straight" about the clinton treason and clinton rape....
clinton-impromptu-call recall...
An extension of A Scoundrel's Pythagorean Imperative and missus clinton's Sunday-Circuit, pink-suited panic, the clinton impromptu call is sure sign of clinton polling woes.
The Daily News received a similar call from the husband--remember? It occurred during the clintons' Moynihan-Senate-seat snatch when the wife's habitual ethnic slurring dealt her incipient political career a preemptive, almost fatal, blow.

issus clinton failed to notice: 'living history' begets a certain symmetry. How fitting it is that the clintons were forced to reveal their inept and treasonous hand on this day, exactly 62 years after the attack on Pearl Harbor.
One has to surmise from hillary clinton's Sunday-Circuit, pink-suited panic that clinton in-house polling has the missus out-polling Jane Fonda for the Tokyo-Rose prize.
(Incidentally, someone ought to clue in clinton's dresser: exculpation-by-pink-suit can work only once; notwithstanding, a treasonous middle-aged matron in a pink suit reads: "dowdy treasonous middle-aged matron in pink suit"... or to the sharper subset, "fatuous dowdy treasonous middle-aged matron in pink suit attempts ingénue exculpation ploy." What could they be thinking? Surely, clinton "infrastructure" knows that such a scheme requires freshness of face, not mouth....)
It is common knowledge that missus clinton limits the frequency, intensity and content of her cozy clintonoid interviews of the Colmes kind. Tim Russert's (Meet the Press, NBC) stomach-turning HILLARY 2004! boosterism and nonexistent follow-ups ("And why do you suppose there aren't enough troops to fight a war, missus CLINTON?") made it clear that she had the latter two -- intensity and content -- covered today. It was frequency that did her in.
Tokyo Rose also aided and abetted our enemies by using psychological warfare designed to lower the morale of our troops; and she was convicted of treason. One could easily argue that clinton's betrayal, because it is ultimately self-serving, is an even greater iniquity. And then, of course, there are the clintons' other self-serving treasonous acts....
Russert, therefore, was not only on the wrong page. He was in the wrong book.
The question isn't,
The question is,-- |
And those are some big sea legs. The Drudge headline said "Hillary Finds Voice" - yea, shrill.
