Cops are warning residents in rural South Carolina to shut their doors and windows after at least 43 monkeys escaped from a bio-research lab. The rhesus macaques slipped out of an Alpha Genesis facility in Yemassee — which is just off I-95 in the south of the state — on Wednesday night. “We want to assure the community that there is no health risk associated with these animals,” the Yemassee Police Department said. Residents are being told not to approach the loose monkeys and instead call 911 and report the sighting. It’s unclear how the primates managed to break out.

“Uneducated” Americans are holding the country “hostage,” according to an English instructor at the University of South Carolina. “There is a reason why educated people vote blue. What we’re seeing is the uneducated population of America holding the rest of the country hostage,” Sueanna Smith wrote on X last night. “This is why there’s such a push to weaken education, ban books, and outlaw the teaching of Black history by the Republican Party.” She wrote a handful of other posts after that attempting to clarify her point, though she continued to repeat that she believes Trump supporters are not smart.

South Carolina senator Lindsey Graham has sent an ominous message to special counsel Jack Smith as Donald Trump was on the precipice of being announced as the winner of the 2024 election. Early on Wednesday morning, mere moments before Trump took the stage in West Palm Beach, Florida, to give his victory speech, Graham posted a note on X “to Jack Smith and your team”. “It is time to look forward to a new chapter in your legal careers as these politically motivated charges against President Trump hit a wall,” Graham wrote...... In a conversation with the conservative podcast host...

Former presidential candidate Nikki Haley backed her one-time GOP rival Donald Trump Sunday in a new opinion piece, arguing the ex-commander in chief is “clearly the better choice” over Vice President Kamala Harris. Haley urged undecided voters to look at both candidates’ policy proposals, which she said clearly show Trump as the better option in a Wall Street Journal op-ed published two days before Election Day. The former South Carolina governor wrote that she agrees with Trump most of the time — though he isn’t perfect — and disagrees with Harris “nearly all of the time.” “That makes this an...

Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) said Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union” that former President Donald Trump will have a very good election day. Host Dana Bash said, “You are trying to turn out black and local voters, among others. Polls we’ve seen in the last 24 hours show evidence that late deciders are breaking for Kamala Harris. Do you think Trump’s closing days his rhetoric are hurting those voters?” Scott said, “I will just tell you the voters I sat down with in Detroit, Michigan on Tuesday, Ohio on Wednesday and Philly on Thursday African-American, Hispanics, Jewish voters all...

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump expressed support for Israel’s offensives against Hamas and Hezbollah in a recent call with the country’s prime minister — a position that could complicate his campaign’s outreach to Arab Americans claiming he opposes the war. Trump told Benjamin Netanyahu in one call this month, “Do what you have to do,” according to six people familiar with the conversation who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive and confidential information. Trump has said publicly that the two have spoken at least twice in October, with one call as recently as Oct. 19. “He didn’t...

Republican incumbent Senator Billy Garrett faces Democratic challenger Francie Kleckley within the redrawn Senate District 10. With the boundaries having been redrawn, the district has ousted McCormick County and now includes part of Lexington County, in addition to Greenwood and Saluda counties. The two have different perspectives on what the district needs in the next 4 years. Both candidates told WIS News 10 they are focused on addressing infrastructure concerns throughout the district but specifically in Lexington County. Garrett claims his record as senator speaks to his ability to ensure goals are reached should he be elected in November while...

Representative James Clyburn (D-SC) said Thursday on CNN’s “The Lead” that Democratic presidential nominee Vice President Kamala Harris should hold more town hall meetings to interact with voters. Host Jake Tapper said, “Do you think that she should be doing more rallies? I covered Obama in 2008, as you might remember, I would often interview you when I was covering that campaign and at this point, she’s doing two rallies today. But generally speaking, comparing her rally schedule in October to his rallies schedule in October 2008 he did more. Now, maybe we’re in a new era, maybe 2024 you...

It’s hard to believe the great Flood of 1916 that ravaged Western North Carolina took place over 100 years ago. The Flood still lives on in the hearts and minds of Asheville area citizens, and it is still known as ‘the flood to end all floods’. The Asheville Citizen, using a borrowed gasoline engine to run its presses, described the devastation caused by The Flood in its July 17, 1916, edition:“Exacting an unknown toll of death, with a property loss exceeding three million dollars, Asheville today is absolutely isolated from the outside world, is a city of darkness void of...

Bodies are still being pulled out of the water as North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida and Georgia try to clean up after the devastating destruction of Hurricane Helene. But that hasn't stopped leftists from celebrating the natural disaster, given that the victims died or saw their homes destroyed in states that don't always vote the way they'd like. Here's a charmer from the United Kingdom who teaches kids: She comes from a school that touts its 'empathy-building' between rural and urban residents, whatever that is, all inclusive and accepting. I think we can now see what they mean.

Convicted killer Freddie Owens was put to death in South Carolina on Friday — the first execution carried out in the Palmetto State in 13 years after prison officials struggled to find the necessary drugs for lethal injections. Owens killed a Greenville convenience store clerk during a robbery during a botched robbery in 1997. While on trial, Owens killed an inmate at a county jail, which he confessed to, leading a jury to sentence him to death. In the death chamber, the 46-year-old said only “bye” to his attorney as he was strapped into a gurney with his arms stretched...

An “unsurvivable” storm surge is trailing in the wake of fast-moving Hurricane Helene as it barrels towards Florida. Damaging winds, rains, and flash floods hundreds of miles inland across much of the southeastern U.S. may also be in the mix, forecasters said Thursday. AP reports Helene is now a major hurricane — meaning an upgrade to Category 2 — as it makes towards landfall on Florida’s northwestern Big Bend coast late Thursday evening and into Friday morning. The storm is so large that areas roughly 90 miles north of the Georgia-Florida line could expect hurricane conditions. States as far inland...

Secondly, Smith wants to argue that she was not in her right mind as a young mom — and that she may have suffered from undiagnosed mental illness. She was a 22-year-old mom when she let her car roll into John D. Long Lake in Union County, South Carolina, with her boys — 3-year-old Michael and 14-month-old Alexander — still strapped into their car seats. It’s an argument Smith has used before. “I am not the monster society thinks I am,” she wrote in a letter from jail to reporters at The State in 2015. “Something went very wrong that...
