Janette, I've been thinking about what you were saying. I think some people are just joking around and some ( I apologize to them if I'm wrong) are just rude.

I didn't see the picture you're mentioning so I can't comment on that.

I live in California and there's an INCREDIBLE amount of California Bashing going on on Free Republic. Most of the time we just let it ride. Sometimes it gets to you, and you comment. I wouldn't THINK of making a disparaging remark to another Freeper about their state and wishing them ill, but sadly, it does happen for us.

You probably just need to ignore most of this junk, as hard as it may be.

We are all (mostly) of a European descent so it's silly to make fun.

Which threads do you like the most? The Canteen? The Dose? I've seen your posts before and they're GREAT.

All I can say is be patient and just keep plugging away to get folks to understand the difference between the cultures. Sometimes it's hard to do when posting compared to a one on one discussion. Just don't give up, I know I won't.
