GOP presidential candidate Gov. Mike Huckabee is doing quite well according to two national polls conducted after the first GOP presidential primary debate.
One poll has Huckabee in second place behind GOP frontrunner Donald Trump and another poll has Huckabee listed with the highest favorability rating among 15 GOP presidential candidates; however, former neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson takes the highest net favorability rating when comparing the results in totality.
A Reuters-Ipsos poll conducted August 21-25 has Huckabee in second behind Trump the only two candidates with double digits in that poll:
Donald Trump 30.1 percent
Mike Huckabee 10.4 percent
Jeb Bush 8.3 percent
Ben Carson 8 percent
Scott Walker 6.7 percent
Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL)80% 5.1 percent
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)96% 4.4 percent
Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY)93% 3.9 percent
Carly Fiorina 3.8 percent
John Kasich 2.7 percent
Chris Christie 2.5 percent
Rick Perry 2.3 percent
Bobby Jindal 1.1 percent
Rick Santorum 1 percent
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC)47% 0.8 percent

This is bizarre polling, but it’s still 2015.
Glad to see most the establishment hacks at the bottom, except Jeb somehow...

I don’t trust the polls much and I think Trump and the others should not put as much faith in them because they can be manipulated. The real gauge is the crowd sizes that the candidates are bringing in.

In the political conversations I have had with people in recent months, not once has anyone mentioned Huckabee. I think the same can be observed on FR. Sure, he is mentioned occasionally in some of the posts. But if he were doing so well, I think there would be many articles with him in the headlines.

Wait til Trump deals the final knell to Ailes/MEgyn/FNC - his numbers will go even higher.

Polls are about driving opinion, not estimating it.
Rick Santorum was in low single digit territory when he won the Iowa Caucus last time around.

I haven’t even heard Huckabee’s name in weeks or read an article about him. Must be some BS in this poll.

Does 2nd place even count when you are 20 points down. I mean Huck is basically within MOE of everyone else - other than Linda.
