Dinosaur herd buried in Noah’s Flood in Inner Mongolia, China

by Tas Walker Published: 14 April 2009

An international team of scientists have uncovered graphic evidence of the deadly terror unleashed on a herd of dinosaurs as they were buried under sediment by the rising waters of Noah’s Flood in western Inner Mongolia (figure 1).[1]

Dinosaur bones were first discovered at the site, located at the base of a small hill in the Gobi Desert, in 1978 by a Chinese geologist. After about 20 years, a team of Chinese and Japanese scientists recovered the first skeletons, which they named Sinornithomimus, meaning “Chinese bird mimic”.

A few years later in 2001, the international team excavated the remains of more than 25 dinosaurs, creating a large quarry in the process as they as they followed the skeletons into the base of the hill. Remarkable excavation

As the team carefully mapped the location of the bones and strata that contained them (figure 2), it became clear that the dinosaurs were all within the same layer of mudstone (i.e. the same bedding plane), generally facing the same direction and remarkably well preserved.[2]...

Young Earth Creationists. Believe that the earth is about 6000 years old and created in six 24-hour days. Believe the bible literally except where they have to interpret it.

King James:

But obviously the Evos are wrong about the age of the cretaceous period if God created the Universe and everthing in it 6-10 thousand years ago, right?

And the bird monster Ziz makes his home in the sky where the spreading of his wingspan is known to block the sun. Ziz resembles the mythical griffin

The Ziz lives on in certain rural, southern English dialects. If someone or something is described as "just a-zizzin'," it's moving rapidly, busily, flying along.

There are two different types of figures of speech that make comparisons. You were right in that a simile uses “like” or “as”, but a metaphor makes a comparison but it looks like a statement. You have to decide whether it is a statement or a metaphor based on the language around the phrase. Based on the fact that this phrase is surrounded by similes I would argue it is safe to say that it’s a metaphor!

Thanks for fielding the question!

I would have appended as follows:

"...except where they have to interpret it to support the absurd misinterpretation of Genesis by Ussher ca 1656."

Genesis is very simple and straightforward, so that even a child can understand it. Creation lasted 6 days, and on the seventh day God rested. Notice, I don’t have to add anything to the Bible, nor take anything away to say that.

A child can understand that pregnant mommy has a baby in the belly. That doesn't mean, though, that he comprehends a fetus in the amnion implanted on the wall of the uterus.

Likewise, yes, the earth was created in six days. Period. End of story. I believe that. But--as they knew to ask in even ancient times--what kind of days are these without the sun to mark them? Some claim they are literal 24 hour periods. Fine. That's one interpretation. But there are others. And we also know from general relativity that "24 hours" isn't even a fixed value across the universe...it proceeds at different rates in different places. So I'm not sure why people are so dogged on this point.

And actually, Augustine got his simultaneous creation idea DIRECTLY from the Bible. The Vetus Itala version of it, to be specific. It's commonly believed that he based his interpretation on a Latin mistranslation...which ought to teach us a further lesson about relying too heavily on English texts to the exclusion of the Hebrew, Septuagint, Peshitta, and Vulgate readings.

"Having established the first day of creation as Sunday 23 October 4004 BC, by the arguments set forth in the passage below, Ussher calculated the dates of other biblical events, concluding, for example, that Adam and Eve were driven from Paradise on Monday 10 November 4004 BC, and that the ark touched down on Mt Ararat on 5 May 2348 BC `on a Wednesday'. "

Two questions. If he determined that Sunday was the first day of creation, why is Sunday a day of rest for us?

Also, how did he get the exact days when there are no birthdays listed in the bible?

His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron.

Wait a minute, is is bronze or brass? Is the bone actually bronze, or just like brass? You mean different interpretations and translations of the Bible have different meanings and words?

Then how can you argue absolutism with reference to the age of the Earth? Could it be that there are errors in the translations of the Bible?

You aren't reading what I write. This isn't an "evo" argument. Geology, not biology. If you want to claim a 10,000 year-old earth, then you have to deal with geologists. Forget the evil "evos".

The Jewish sabbath was on Saturday keeping with the tradition of the creation week. Christians moved from Saturday to Sunday celebrating the day of the week when Christ rose from the dead that allowed us to have eternal rest.

Then Saturday is the day of rest for God but not for Christians?

Which biblical version of the creation of woman is correct? The version where God created man and woman from the dust, or the version where God took a rib out of Adam and made a woman from it. Both there, both with very different implications. One egalitarian man to woman, the other with woman subordinate to man. The bible is full of contradictions which enables many different interpretations to be made. This also causes problems with the Koran, much to our current distress.

There’s a lot of that evidence massaging going around I fear. Makes it impossible to have a rational discussion on this topic.
