Dinosaur herd buried in Noah’s Flood in Inner Mongolia, China

by Tas Walker Published: 14 April 2009

An international team of scientists have uncovered graphic evidence of the deadly terror unleashed on a herd of dinosaurs as they were buried under sediment by the rising waters of Noah’s Flood in western Inner Mongolia (figure 1).[1]

Dinosaur bones were first discovered at the site, located at the base of a small hill in the Gobi Desert, in 1978 by a Chinese geologist. After about 20 years, a team of Chinese and Japanese scientists recovered the first skeletons, which they named Sinornithomimus, meaning “Chinese bird mimic”.

A few years later in 2001, the international team excavated the remains of more than 25 dinosaurs, creating a large quarry in the process as they as they followed the skeletons into the base of the hill. Remarkable excavation

As the team carefully mapped the location of the bones and strata that contained them (figure 2), it became clear that the dinosaurs were all within the same layer of mudstone (i.e. the same bedding plane), generally facing the same direction and remarkably well preserved.[2]...

“feeds like an ox but has a tail comparable in size to a cedar tree”

Job might have been talking about the ancestors of my English mastiff.

While on `poop patrol’ this weekend, I complained to her that it was
like cleaning up after the elephants at the circus.

If God created all living creatures during Creation Week, then the dinos dying out before the appearance of man is both a logical and an historical impossibility.

Therefore, if the dinos did die out before the appearance of man....

Sounds like a dino to me. What other animal to you know of that feeds like an ox but has a tail comparable in size to a cedar tree?:

http://stupiddinosaurlies.org/the-truth-about-behemoth/

The verse in full context says,

“He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together.”

But creationists took that verse and distorted it to make the verse erroneously say,

“His tail is like a cedar: the sinew of his stones are wrapped together.”

In their false reasoning as illustrated in many of their literature including Duane Gish’s book Dinosaurs by Design, it means the tail of Behemoth were as big and thick as a large cedar tree in comparison to the small tails of the hippo and the elephant. Thus, confirming the notion of Behemoth being a sauropod dinosaur because unlike the tail of an elephant and the hippo, sauropod dinosaurs has huge, long, thick, chunky tails that can easily be compared to a cedar tree.

Even Allan K. Steel, on this page from Ken Ham’s idiot site make claims of this falsehood by giving out what he claims to be technical explanations of what he claims Behemoth was by giving out a whole list of the same verse he misquote in purpose coming from different versions of the English Bible and concludes that the tail of Behemoth is a lot like a cedar tree. Thus, Behemoth, according to Steel, is indeed a dinosaur because its tail is exactly like a cedar tree.

This is flat out false. The verse in full context does not say “His tail is like a cedar.” The verse actually says, “He moveth his tail like a cedar..” which means there is absolutely nothing in the verse that says anything about the size of the tail. Instead, it only has everything to do with the tail’s movements. Nothing else.

If Noah's flood was real instead of mythology, you wouldn't expect to find just dinosaurs, you would expect to find dinos, elephants, monkeys, people, saber tooth tigers, dimetrodons all jumbled together.

Sure, if they all occupied the very same habitat. About the closest you'd get to all these animals (minus the extinct animals) winding up all jumbled together today would be after a massive flood of a zoo.

There were at least leftover dinosaurs walking around just prior to the flood. Midrashim offer clear descriptions of them and you can still see clear depictions of them around lakes and canyon walls in Amerind petroglyphs which are thousands (but not tens of millions) of years old.

I see you decided NOT to take Pascal’s wager. Whatever temporal points you think you might be making here on earth will set to zero in the infinity of your punishment. Repent, dear CW, before it is too late!

The bible says the tail moves like a cedar, and I would think they were referring to movement of the branches.

Incidentally, the hippo has an interesting use for his tail. I was at the zoo once and saw a hippo poop with his butt about 8 feet from a wall. As he pooped, he spun his tail leaving a 10 ft diameter spatter pattern on the wall. My immediate thought was the old saying: where were you little man when the s... hit the fan? On further thought I realized that this would be a good method of dispersing the poop in the water to be carried away, rather than leaving it in large globs to contaminate the pool the hippo lived in.

http://stupiddinosaurlies.org/the-truth-about-behemoth/

The Real Behemoth and Leviathan

Both Behemoth and Leviathan are really in fact monsters of Jewish folklore. Behemoth or Behemot is a mammalian monster in form of a bull ox, a male cow. Leviathan is a fish monster in form of a coiling, serpentine eel-like fish with eyes and scales that glow and illuminate from many miles around. Both Behemoth and Leviathan are also 2 parts of the Triune Beasts of Jewish Folklore. The Bull monster Behemoth lives in a mountain range made up of the Yabul Stream flowing from Eden or Paradise and a thousand hills that provided him with plenty of grass to feed on as reference to the midrash supplement to Psalm 50:10.

Leviathan makes his home in the Mediterranean, where when he gets hungry, he churns up the waters with his hot, fiery breath to make them boil. And the bird monster Ziz makes his home in the sky where the spreading of his wingspan is known to block the sun. Ziz resembles the mythical griffin, while Leviathan resembles the serpentine fish, and Behemoth resembles a raging bull ox. According to midrash recording traditions supplement to Genesis 1:21 and 1:24, God created 2 Leviathans, male and female and one Ziz on the 5th day of Creation Week. The next day, God created 2 Behemoths, both male and female.

But realizing these 2 monsters, Behemoth and Leviathan, could produce offspring that would destroy the whole world, God killed off the females and place the males into 2 different locations each, where they will remain until the End Times come and both Behemoth and Leviathan would rise up from their places and battle one another to the death, with Behemoth interlocking Leviathan with his horns while Leviathan flails back with his fins until God intervenes and kill both monsters along with Ziz and use their remains and their meat to provide His people in the New Heaven and New Earth with luxurious meals, jewelry, tent skins and wall coverings to decorate Jerusalem’s protective wall.

Please point to the passage in the Bible that states that the Cretaceous Period lasted from 144 to 65 MYA.

Departed from Scripture LOL

See that’s my problem. Everyone is out there pounding their fists about what Genesis SIMPLY MUST mean....and they are somehow magically endowed with the power to be infallible in this regard! And yet they all disagree with each other. Funny thing that.

Do I agree with Augustine in everything that is not de fide? No. I think some variant of the “day-age” hypothesis is much more attractive than his simultaneous creation.

But I’ll tell you what...I respect him immensely to the point that I’d be loathe to dismiss his interpretation. He had a brain on his shoulders and plenty of experience with Manichees and other heretics as well as with the general scientific knowledge of the 5th century.

Plus you can see how careful he was...he did NOT want to saddle Genesis with a bad interpretation if a better one could be found later. I only wish the rest of us would be so wise.

“Look at the behemoth, which I made along with you and which feeds on grass like an ox. What strength he has in his loins, what power in the muscles of his belly! His tail sways like a cedar; the sinews of his thighs are close-knit. His bones are tubes of bronze, his limbs like rods of iron. He ranks first among the works of God…” (Job 40:15-19)

OK, show me an animal with bones made of tubes of bronze, then you have a point. Short of that, it's all so much VERY misguided - and theologically misleading - conjecture.

Neither day-age, nor Augustine’s simultaneous creation is to be found anywhere in the Bible. Genesis is very simple and straightforward, so that even a child can understand it. Creation lasted 6 days, and on the seventh day God rested. Notice, I don’t have to add anything to the Bible, nor take anything away to say that.

The Bible is making a comparison. Behemoth’s tail isn’t an actual cedar tree either.

Your cedar trees you posted do NOT move? How does that make the bible describe a dinosaur?

15 ¶ Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox.
16 Lo now, his strength [is] in his loins, and his force [is] in the navel of his belly.
17 He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together.
