OBAMA TRIED TO STALL GIS' IRAQ WITHDRAWAL [election is over?]

WHILE campaigning in public for a speedy withdrawal of US troops from Iraq, Sen. Barack Obama has tried in private to persuade Iraqi leaders to delay an agreement on a draw-down of the American military presence.

According to Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari, Obama made his demand for delay a key theme of his discussions with Iraqi leaders in Baghdad in July.

"He asked why we were not prepared to delay an agreement until after the US elections and the formation of a new administration in Washington," Zebari said in an interview.

Obama insisted that Congress should be involved in negotiations on the status of US troops - and that it was in the interests of both sides not to have an agreement negotiated by the Bush administration in its "state of weakness and political confusion."

There is nothing, and I mean nothing that Obama does, says or has done that will cause a stir in the media. After the grilling and disrespect of Palin by Gibson and no expectations from the media for Obama to answer any questions at all like what she faced, it is pretty easy to see that the Republicans and our nation has any chance against the media machine.

While this issue is huge and should have top billing, the smaller ones are also offensive. I am still upset over Barry's ad bashing McCain for not using email. During the Friends' discussion this morning, they had on former POW Lt. Col Orson Swindle who explained McCain's war injuries and said--I don't want my Commander-in-Chief preoccupied with email. It's just another petty, desperate attempt by the Obama people.

Later in the Pundit Pit, the Friends showed McCain leading in many battleground states. Gerry Ferraro interrupted the discussion on the Atlantic pic to make two important points. The folks in these states who were leaning toward McCain were older and also may not email--her husband doesn't. And Catholics are likely to be very offended by this "Jesus was a community organizer" slogan.
