Life long republican - Drive by troll

All my life, I believed in Republican values -- individual responsibility and limited government. Then it happened; I found myself with a small child, unemployed and disabled. I turned to my church, and after years of regular tithes, suddenly I just wasn't their problem. My Republican friends? I was now a pariah to them.
My only relief was to turn to government assistance for housing, food, and other needs and I was able to survive with dignity.
So chalk me up as one who no longer drinks the GOP koolaid.

We offered them a place to stay at a group home that is safe from abusive spouses. Before they move into one of the single family homes they must get a job. If they didn't want to do that then we were happy to help them apply for section 8 housing. This was a FAMILY shelter, no singles are eligible.

Then it happened; I found myself with a small child, unemployed and disabled...Two things come to mind:
1) Children, small or otherwise, don't just "happen".....
2) Most small children ARE unemployed and relatively helpless....except in muslim countries, where they are forced into being laborers and suicide bombers....

Got a job waitressing, enrolled in engineering school, and got my degree 5 years later.

Yep. Pure Democrat all the way.
Fortunately there's plenty more people who go in the opposite direction, as they pull their heads out of their behinds, get some ambition, get some education, get a job and a family, and pay taxes rather than be a tax-eating parasite - - NOW the tendency is to go from scumbag Democrat to Republican. Har!

A DOG used to run up quietly to the heels of everyone he met, and to bite them without notice. His master suspended a bell about his neck so that the Dog might give notice of his presence wherever he went. Thinking it a mark of distinction, the Dog grew proud of his bell and went tinkling it all over the marketplace.
One day an old hound said to him: Why do you make such an exhibition of yourself? That bell that you carry is not, believe me, any order of merit, but on the contrary a mark of disgrace, a public notice to all men to avoid you as an ill mannered dog." Notoriety is often mistaken for fame.

See, the really sucky thing about your pathetic attitude is that if you REALLY were a conservative, you would work hard to get yourself an education and a good job.
